It had been about a day of walking, and now it was the next...and they had reached the end of the road. There was a shimmering field portraying a castle, and as they neared it and walked through, the road behind them vanished to be replaced by...a gloomy castle.
"This is...odd," Arc said as he turned to see Emi...in a dress. "How did you...?" He had only been turned away for a second but already she was wearing something different. Shaking his head, Arc turned to the Castle. "We should look around, and see if anyone is home."

"How did I what?"
Emi looked down at herself and choked. She was wearing a dark green ball gown and normally unruly black hair was plaited and secured with a comically large matching bow. Arc seemed unchanged. It appeared whatever wizard had cast the transformation spell here had a very cruel sense of humor.
Grudgingly, Emi agreed with Arc. It wasn't as if she had any other clothes to change into and she couldn't run around this castle in her skivvies no matter how abandoned it was. Her arms were exposed. What, they couldn't have given her some of those silly long gloves as well? She shifted uncomfortably, crossing her arms.
"So far looks pretty abandoned... might be a nice place to spend the night if that's the case. Wouldn't have to sleep in the dirt again."
She did wonder how in the world she was supposed to sleep in this thing.

Arc nodded, walking over to the ominous looking doors. He knocked with the heavy knockers and Swung them back and forth several times. He stepped back, waiting for the owner of the castle to answer the door.
"So, now we wait." And wait he would, because there was no way that he would be impolite and stride into the house as if he owned it. Because he didn't, at least, he didn't think he did.

Emi grimaced. Arc was her polar opposite when it came to politeness and manners. Personally, she would've just burst in and started exploring. The castle was abandoned right? So, no harm done and she might have found some forgotten valuables.
She crossed her arms and leaned against the wall. Just because she was wearing a ball gown didn't mean she had the manners to go with it.

Arc grinned at her. "Why are you so impatient? It is not like we are being attacked by Heartless." Again. He was standing in place in front of the door, hands folded behind him, and had his head turned to the side. The grin didn't quite fit the confines of his face, however, and so it made him look fierce more than anything.
"After all, we are waiting outside of a beautiful castle, and its owner is probably extremely generous...although the castle is a bit dark for my tastes..."

Emi pushed herself up off the wall and over to the door.
"Fine, you stay out here. I'm going in." She lifted her leg and kicked open the door. Completely unnecessary theatrics, but she marched into the castle.

Arc charged in after her. "Wait, Emi! You don't simply charge into someone's house like that!" For one, it was rude, and for two...it was rude! There was no call for something of that kind, unless one was dying!
"Emi, get back here!" Arc put an arm around her stomach and began dragging her back towards the entrance. "You shouldn't have bar-" Arc was saying when he tripped and fell, releasing Emi to cause havoc in the castle DX

Emi would've clapped a hand over his mouth, but honestly she feared his teeth. Instead, she shut the door quietly and put one finger over her lips. "First rule of breaking and entering.... shut your howling screamer."
She walked over and held out a hand. "Come on, let's go explore. This castle is pretty big... probably no one heard us. If we get moving now, if someone did hear us, we can be long gone before they get here. Now, be quiet and don't touch anything."
She wiggled her fingers in front of his face. "I'm the professional here."

Arc quieted down and followed her into the castle. If he couldn't stop her, at least he could make sure she didn't get hurt, or worse. "I do not care if there is no one in this place, this is a bad thing to do. It is immoral.
"Plus, if it is devoid of an owner, wouldn't it be a likely place for Heartless to spawn?" If morals wouldn't stop Emi, at least fear still had a chance. If not...then he would just have to follow her and keep her safe.

Emi stuck out her tongue at him. "I've done worse. Besides, anywhere YOU are is a likely place for Heartless to spawn, dingbat. Quit trying to be clever and hurry up."
They were in the foyer of the castle. Emi spotted several doors on the first floor and a grand staircase. She veered off to the left to check the first door...

The Master and the Mistress had gone to have a picnic.
Just after Christmas.
Cogsworth had harrumpfed and hedged and tried to dissuade them all of such tomfoolery. First there was the cold and the snow and then the snow
and the cold and he'd nearly managed to make them see the light of Reason and Enlightenment (even Mrs. Potts, who had promised them a warm cup of tea) but then that irresponsible, childish, torturous, pig-headed, wax-eared dandy that Lumière was had goaded them! Why the nerve! The audacity! To dictate to Master what Master should or shouldn't do to court a Lady... it made his gears fuzz and frit just to think of it! So intent was he on chewing out the whimsical and soft-headed romantic candlestand (and telling the Master that really, he should have seen such foolishness coming and that it would be right and proper to never dismiss his advice again) that the animated clock quite forgot to look both ways as it patrolled the foyer of the Castle muttering and mumbling to itself - And quite missed the two intruders. One of whom was quite intent on opening a door to west hall.[/blockquote]

Arc glared at her. "That is besides the point," he said, glowering as he followed her into the doorway. "We still should not be doing this. After all, this is a horrible way to introduce yourself to a possibly wealthy man."
Glancing in the room, Arc didn't really see anything out of the ordinary. Random clutter, maybe a bit of a mess, but nothing really denoting something that was fundamentally wrong. Some of the decor was a bit dark and dreary, too. Maybe the owner was a bit antisocial...those were often the more vicious kinds. "We should leave before something bad happens..."

"I told you to shut up...," she said. She picked up some random bauble, turning it in her hand. And then- "Ooooh, wealthy. Even better. Let's stay."
The teasing glance made it obvious she was just doing it to make him mad. She perked up, like a dog. She heard something. She went to push Arc out of the doorway, hissing "I think someone is out there. Hide."

Arc gave her an off-handed glance. "I'm a great big dragon-man. How am I supposed to hide?" He complied anyhow, walking through the doorway and immediately looking for a place to hide. "What am I to do, pick up a potted plant and hold it in front of my face?" he whispered back at her with an admonishing look. He had told to get out of there and now she was going to get it. Unless, of course, whomever it was that Emi had heard was somehow able to not see a great big dragon-man standing right in front of him.

"Yeah, yeah, that sounds good, let's do that," Emi said, her voice positively dripping with that distinctive Emi-flavored-sarcasm. "Just get out of the doorway. I don't think he...she?... it...they... I don't think they saw us yet so if you'll just get your huge butt in here, we should be good."
She hadn't gotten a look at whoever or whatever it was. But when you hear a sound when you've broken into a house, or a big menacing castle, you hide until the coast is clear.
