General Character Information
--------------------------------------
Character Name: Luciel Lorelei, The Assassin Saint, Saint Lucy
Character Age: 89, appears 18
Character Gender: Male
Character Race: Immortal, Barely Human
Character Position: Neutral
Character Personality: A charming individual, to most, Luciel would appear as a regal, dignified and well-mannered youth. However, this is merely a facade he utilities when it is advantageous to him, to those who it holds no benefit to be polite to, he feels more comfortable to be akin to himself.
In truth, Luciel is a taciturn and serious person, who, by nature, is highly cynical and judgmental. A cold person with a serpent's sharp tongue and a strategic mind, it becomes obvious that he looks down on others. Sarcastic as he is calculative, Luciel has no qualms with rubbing salt in the wound when a person has made a major mistake. Seemingly heartless, with little regard for the emotions of others, Luciel strikes others as a brutally blunt person and adamantly stubborn when his mind is made up. To sum him up, Luciel is a narcissist; egotistic and ruthless, pursuing his ambitions without pause for consideration of others.
However, he is not known as a 'Saint' for nothing. For deep down, very deep down, Luciel is a kind-hearted and caring person, who simply does not like expressing his concern for others openly; he'd much rather die then let others know his soft side. Regardless, Luciel is still a realist, he isn't naïve enough to ignore that sometimes to save the many, one must sacrifice the few, even if they happen to be those closest to you. This is the reason he keeps others at arms length with his narcissistic exterior, so that it'll be less painful for both of them should he have to kill them for the greater good.
At his best, Luciel inspires others with his nobility and charisma, regardless of his personality defects. Ambitious and confident, his eyes seem to look beyond a person even when he's staring right at them, as if they were merely a stepping stone. A natural born leader, his narcissistic persona seems to not bother those who know him well enough, for they realize that at heart, he's a good self-sacrificing person.

Perceived as a handsome young man with a majestic mane of unkept blue hair and sharp, stoic features, Luciel is rather tall and well built, though not so much so that it would hinder his movements. His eyes are deep and large, amber gold coloured and with dilated cat-like pupils; however, his left eye is covered with an eye patch, since he had long lost it in a desperate fight.
His attire consist of the black and white robes of a Father priest, with a small golden bell worn on his neck, which is able to secrete poison. Usually, he wears a hooded black cloak when traveling, to further conceal his twin knives, Mercy and Merciless, which are hidden under his robes at the back of his waist. The set of throwing knives, Gospel, are carried all over his body, including blades on his feet that he can detract with a precise tap.
Under Luciel's clumsy attire of a priest are form-fitting black leather clothing which he can shed any time. This uniform is used when he needs to fight seriously or move quickly as it allows for flexible freedom. Covering pretty much his entire body from the throat down, the assassin wear possesses a multitude of useful straps as well as the Cross Chains fastened around it, in order to maximise his fighting efficiency.

Battle Information
--------------------------------------
Weapon Names: Mercy and Merciless, Gospel Set, Cross Chains
Weapon Appearance/Description: Mercy and Merciless are twin knives held attached with a light silver chain to Luciel's black belt. Thus, they have a diverse amount of uses available. They both have a black handle and a deep silver lustre blade; they are almost identical in appearance, save Mercy has carvings of peaceful angels decorating it while Merciless sports angels of war.
The Gospel Set are throwing knives which seem to lack a handle, resembling kunais. A silver lustre every one of them, he has a numerable amount; all of which are worn all around his body. The Cross Chains that are wrapped around his body are light weight yet strong chains that he uses to bind enemies with, coinciding with the colour scheme, they are a silver hue and can extend a fair distance.
Abilities:
Furious Pacing: Luciel gains a temporary burst of speed and reflexes which allows him to move or attack at a blinding fast pace that cannot be tracked with mere mortal eyes. He moves at such a rapid pace that it can often be mistaken for an invisibility ability. This ability can be used for 1-3 turns, it's cooldown is relative to the number of turns it was used. I.e. If it was used for 1 turn, then it would have a cool down of 1 post and 2 turns would be 2 posts.
Illusionist: Luciel is able to cast illusions on an individual, a group or the surroundings. This is particularly useful for stealth or disguise, as well as direct conflict. These illusions are so realistic that many victims have been known to be driven insane.
Soul Eater: Luciel has lived his long years in the shadows by devouring the souls of the wicked, using their life force to extend his own. Over time, he has become less human, and yet at the same time, something more. Luciel is able to drain others of their life force or energy progressively with his mere presence at will, the effect is amplified if they come into physical contact with him or if they stare into his eyes.

Character History
--------------------------------------
Like most, Luciel, or as he was known at the time, Arthur Del Velle, began his life rather plainly. A simple heir to a noble family. Being the only heir, Arthur was schooled in the arts, literature, maths and even war tactics and actual combat for the day he would inherit. His wasn't a bad life, for Arthur was wise enough to know that he was one of the more fortunate ones. His world was riddled with wars, almost as if the people knew of nothing else; to this end, Arthur sought to use what power he had to help those affected by it. Soon after, at the age of twelve, was when he met her; the girl for whom he would forfeit his humanity.
She was a peasant, as well as an orphan, lacking in both power and prestige, however, she carried herself with such dignity and will, that even young Arthur became charmed by her. Her name was Rosaline, and she sought to rid the world of all evil with her own hands. She baffled him, truth be told, what could she do? A mere peasant girl only a few years his elder? When even he, an heir to a noble house, could do practically naught. This did not deter Rosaline however; for she was stubborn as a mule, a trait that she may have passed on to him considering how he is now. Rosaline was convinced that she would be able to stop the war, even if she had to delve into the forbidden arts to do so.
And delve she did, with Arthur's help, of course, for she could barely read let alone translate the heavy text of the black arts books they had managed to obtain through questionable means. This was how Arthur, although unwillingly, came to learn of those scandalous powers alongside his beloved Rosaline, for he could nary say no to her. They met in secret to learn more of the forbidden arts, since a peasant girl and a noble heir meeting one another so often would no doubt raise many questions indeed. Together, they sought the power to purge the world of evil and to bring happiness to their war torn nations. Thinking back, their ideals were noble in theory, yet flawed in practice. They could not control the darkness; they would soon learn that.
They had come to the conclusion that they needed at least five life times to restore their tattered world; a life span that as mortals, they did not possess. So they sought it, through the black arts they sought to steal the souls of animals to extend their own lives. It worked, but not nearly as well as they had hoped. For every hundred animals sacrificed, they gained one additional day; it was a lost cause. Then came that day, that would change Arthur and Rosaline's relationship forever. He had come looking for her in their usual hiding spot in the cabin at the back of the woods, only to find her standing over and clasping the hand of the decayed corpse of a child. The child looked as if he had been malnourished and dehydrated for years, yet Arthur knew, that the child had probably been alive a few minutes before.
He scorned her, he cursed her and he condemned her; Arthur threw insults that he didn't even know he knew. But to no avail, he could not bring himself to hate her. She explained to him, with a calm, almost nonchalant voice, that to save many you must sacrifice few. It was for the greater good. Arthur spoke no more of that night and, even though he loved her, they slowly began to drift apart. The next week, Rosalne was accused of being a witch and hanged.
It all happened so quick, that Arthur barely knew what was happening when he was seized with a vehement anger that was fueled by grief. Before he knew what he was doing, Arthur had cut down the people who prosecuted and executed Rosaline using the black arts he learned with her; he devoured their eternal souls.
That was the end of Arthur Del Velle, prodigal heir to the noble house of De Velle; like all children who had done something wrong, he fled blindly, running away from the guilt and shame. His escape led him to a covenant of nuns, who despite his being a male, welcomed him into their monastery. If Arthur knew what was in store for him at the hands of those nuns, he would've preferred to brave the harsh reality of poverty and hunger that he had brought on himself.
After he had regained his health, the nuns spoke to him of the same ideals his beloved Rosaline once had when she still lived. They spoke of peace, of equality and of death to the wicked. They had the foundations of peace through their work, they had the equality through the teachings of God, all they needed was the death of the wicked. All they needed was little Arthur. You must understand, Arthur was still a child and knew no better, the nuns learned of his knowledge of the black arts and threatened to turn him over to the law if he did not co-operate. Thus, Arthur Del Velle was reborn as Luciel Lorelei, The Assassin Saint, the embodiment of God's justice. He became stronger, much stronger, under the nun's tutelage, which made him highly doubt that they were merely nuns after all.
Eventually, he changed, all remnants of the Arthur who cried when birds fell from their nest was gone, in his place was the cold, calculating killer known as Luciel, named after the Angel of the fourth Choir, whose function it was to slay demons. Luciel was sent on missions to purge the wicked and his life became bathed in the blood of the corrupt and greedy, before they were able to sow the seeds of war in order to further their wealth and power. From a perspective, Luciel was doing the right thing, he was saving countless innocent lives by taking dirty ones. He soon lost track of how many souls he had taken, to fuel his solitary mission. It only became apparent when the nuns who trained him were slowly diminishing, old age or disease claiming them, while he had barely aged at all considering.
Eventually, the wars ended and the peace Rosaline and those nuns sought came. There was nothing left for Luciel to do but sit and wait as the hours passed him by, reading in the library or occupying himself with self training. He had nothing else to do, he knew of nothing else. The Del Velle family forgot him, the ones he loved were lost to him; for once in his life, Luciel was truly alone. Now, normally, with so much time most people in his situation would come to reconcile with the many lives they took, regretting it terribly, but not Luciel, he knew what he did was right and he would do it again in a heart beat. He fulfilled the dreams Rosaline had sought and died for.
Then, they came. The darkness. The Heartless. They caught a peaceful world unprepared and it wasn't long before they brought more chaos and death then the countless wars prior ever did. All Luciel had done had been for nothing. He fought, of course, with all the might he possessed, but it was not enough to overcome the infinite darkness and he was lost. Or so he had thought.
He woke up in Traverse Town, lost and confused. A new place so different to his own, it baffled him until he learned that it was where those who had lost their world to Heartless went, a way station of sorts for the refugees. It didn't take Luciel long to establish himself as a mercenary, a bounty hunter who only took on jobs that harmed only the evil, the wicked, and even then, he would be the final judge if they were truly deserved death. Initially, he had hoped to use this occupation to traverse the different worlds available, in hopes of finding his own again, however, that wish soon seemed to unrealistic and he settled for purging the wicked within his sight. For he was Luciel Lorelei, The Assassin Saint, an Angel of the fourth choir whose function it was to slay Demons.
