General Character Information
--------------------------------------
Character Name: Deborah Ashtear, AKA “The Frozen Flame”
Character Age: Appears: 21. Chronologically: 5
Character Gender: Female
Character Race: Human (cloned)
Character Position: Neutral
Character Personality: Most know her as a stoic and professional mercenary, hardened by her many years alone (see history). It is this unshakeable will and mastery of fire, wrapped up in a impassive, uncaring package that as earned her the nickname “The Frozen Flame”. Deborah does not seek out combat, but neither will she run from it if challenged. Likewise, she will only kill her opponents as a last resort, but doesn’t lose sleep over it if it comes to that. Unseen to all, however, is Deborah’s softer side. Though 19 years old physically, she has been ’awake’ for much less time then that, and still posses a child-like curiosity, and a somewhat naïve desire to trust others. She overcorrects for this desire by trusting no one order to keep form being taken advantage of. In her line of work trust is not something to be handed easily -- indeed -- if at all. She will go as far as allying herself with others if they share a similar goal, but don’t expect to get close. Once the goal is accomplished, she is gone as fast a candle in the wind.
Though she keeps it locked away, in her heart, she wishes to belong to something greater than herself. She longs for a family she never had.
Character's Appearance: Standing at average height of 5’5” Deborah has a slim, athletic figure, honed by rigorous training and constant battles. Her long, deep purple hair is more often that not tied off into a simple (if unfaltering) pony-tail, her light teal colored eyes piercing in their complete indifference. Her clothing varies, but usually consists of well worn traveling boots, pants cut roomy enough to allow free movement of (their colors being mostly light to dark blue), the holster for her gun, simple blouses with modest, light weight body armor beneath (to protect crucial organs). This is usually covered by a long hooded coat that might have been silver when it was new, but is now a faded, worn gray. Her right hand and arm up to her elbow is also covered in criss-crossed pink scars, as if from a deep wound suffered long ago.

Battle Information
--------------------------------------
Weapon Name: The Mastermune (AKA The Grand Dream) and The Wondershot
Weapon Appearance: Pic of the Mastermune:
Mastermune - A double-ended sword said to made of the very stuff of dreams. Three spirits dwell within the blade, Masa, Mune, and Doreen. The offer guidance to Deborah when needed. As the blade is sentient, it has a will of its own and can even fight on its oven volition, should Deborah be unable to wield it herself It can be willed into existence as needed, and vanish when not needed. Forged of the legendary (and now, sadly, lost ) ore, Dreamstone, the Mastermune responds to and amplifies the strength and power found in the heart of its chosen wielder. As such, those without hearts (ie, Nobodies) cannot use it. However, those with darkness in their heart can still be chosen, if Masa, Mune, and Doreen deem the strength of their heart worthy. In such a person hands, however, the Mastermune would be transformed from a holy weapon, to a blood-stained Sword of Darkness. The Mastermune isn’t nearly as picky as the keyblade.
Wondershot: Lucca’s long lost pistol, reclaimed and modified by Deborah (see history).
A silver weapon of an elegant, sweptback design, betraying the 24th century technology that had inspired its creation. Containing the raw power of the Sun Stone it its cartridge, Deborah has refitted the energy weapon to be more versatile, adding a stun setting, cutting torch setting, blinding flash setting, and, of course, the original full power of the weapon. An overload option was also added, in which the Sun Stone energy inside would be allowed to reach critical mass, resulting in a “small” nuclear explosion. This is a last result, however, as this last memento of her ‘mother’ would lost forever as a result
Abilities:
Pyrokinesis: Inheriting the innate power of fire from her ‘mother’, Deborah has ability to control, ignite, and/or extinguish fire using only her mind. It should be noted that this is not the same thing as the well known magical spells if the ‘fire’ family, but rather an ability more physic in nature. Consequently, spells, accessories, etc, that are used to block, reflect, or minimizes the damage of magical fire, are infective against this ability. Conversely, people, creatures or objects with a immunity/resistance against natural fire would still enjoy their normal resistance. (I.E. Pyrokinesis would run right trough a spell like reflect, but would mean nothing to a Red thingee)
Flying Arrow: As the chosen wielder of the Mastermune, she as access to holy blade’s Light elemental power. This includes Flying Arrow, a point attack that harness the power of light into a javelin which she can then throw at her foe. This attack has a charge time; the longer she holds it back, the larger and more powerful the resulting damage will be. However, it is a point attack, not an area-of effect attack, and if she misses, her target avoids all damage, even if it landed an inch behind them. Furthermore, being a light-based attack, its very effective against heartless, but not so much against being with no hearts (ie: Nobodies)

Character History
--------------------------------------
Just prior to the events as depicted in Chrono Cross, the great inventor genius Lucca Ashetar was kidnapped by the demi-human Lynx, an agent of the FATE supercomputer in Chronopolis. FATE’s goal was to use Lucca’s genius to remove the Prometheus Lock prevent this computer to access the source of its power, the Frozen Flame. In the event that Lucca did not survive Lynx’s interrogation procedures, her DNA was extracted and duplicated, producing a clone that had all of the original Lucca’s genius.
As feared, Lucca did die at Lynx’s hands before she could be forced to remove the Prometheus Lock. Her clone, still in suspended animation, was then put through growth acceleration, to be released when matured to pick up where he original left off. The process was halted, however, when Serge, the Arbiter of the Frozen Flame was discovered. Lucca’s clone remained inert as Lynx and FATE attempted to use Serge to gain what they needed.
Ultimately, Serge and his allies defeated Lynx and FATE, freeing the Frozen Flame which was then stolen by the Dragon God. As Serge left to defeat this new threat, all of FATE’s systems in Chronopolis went offline -- including the suspended animation process in the capsule containing the Lucca clone. She awoke all alone in an empty city, cold, naked, and having no idea who she was, where she was, or how she got there. The clone had to punch her way out of the glass capsule she was in, cutting her hand and arm badly. Possessing Lucca’s genius, she was able to find materials in the lab she woke up in to stop the bleeding and treat the wound, but to this day, her right hand and arm up to her elbow is covered in criss-crossed pink scars.
The clone wondered the empty city for some time before, confused and frightened, before she was finally able to obtain, repair, and sail away on a powerboat she found in at the docks. Picking a random direction, she sailed away, ultimately coming to the island of Marbule. There, she was found and pitied by the demi-human population, and was taken in. The elder there gave her the name Deborah.
Deborah lived Marbule quite happily for an entire year -- until questions began to form in her mind. Where had she come from? Where were real parents? What exactly was that city she woke up in? She set out on a quest to find the answers. Her first stop was to returned to the abandoned City of Chronopolis. Once there, she was able to power back up a generator large enough to run a few minors systems (but not powerful enough to re-initialize FATE). By the time it finally failed two days later, Deborah had leaned all about her the nature of her existence. As the clone of Lucca (her mother genetically if not by birth), she took the last name Ashtear. Her next stop was the Zenan mainland and the village of Truce, to see where her mother had lived, and maybe find some family there. Though she was never able to find any relatives, she did manage to find Lucca’s pistol, Wondershot, buried in the ruins of what had been Lucca’s home.
She returned to Marbule, saddened by what she had found, but at least knowing more about herself than when she left. And there she would have lived happily ever after, if not for the Heartless. They came to her world in waves, threatening to destroy the only home she ever knew. Sacred but determined, Deborah stood shoulder to shoulder (armed with the Wondershot) with the heroes of her world to save it from the darkness. Though they fought bravely, they fought in vain. One by one they all fell to the heartless, leaving Deborah and a handful of survivors still fighting when their world’s heart was found, and consumed.
Lost In the Darkness as it swallowed up her home, that should have been the end for her. But from its final resting place in the Darkness Beyond Time, The Mastermune felt the vitality in Deborah’s heart, and whisked to her rescue.
Deborah awoke in the alleys of Traverse Town, lost and alone again, … only this time With the Mastermune and the Wondershot in her possession.
For the next several years Deborah resolved to put her lost home and life in her past, and struck out o a new path of self-sufficiency. Becoming a mercenary honed her battle skills, and made her the munny needed to take care of herself. Though she is only barely twenty-one years old, The Frozen Flame is name to be respected….and feared.
