History:
And a beautiful auburn haired baby girl was born…with a big destiny…
Kairi’s story begins when she was born on Radiant Garden. Radiant Garden was taken over by Xehanort, who was using the stolen name of his teacher Ansem the Great. Xehanort, seeking to find the Keyblade in order to further his plans with the Heartless, recognizes that Kairi's heart is special and may resonate with the legendary weapon, so he takes her and sends her off into the sea of space, waiting to see where she would land. Kairi appears in Destiny Islands after the night of a meteor shower, said shower being the separating walls of that world being destroyed. She was taken in by the mayor as an orphan and was soon befriended by a young Sora and Riku, two native boys that were nearly polar opposites of each other in personality. It was quite charming to her, so they became fast best friends.
Kairi grew up with these new friends, among others, all of which are fascinated by the fact that her home is not Destiny Islands, but somewhere else entirely. They spent most of their time hanging out in the tree houses on the island off from the main land, with huge dreams of one day getting away to find out what else was past those seas that surrounded them.
At the age of 14, this huge dream led to the trio building a raft in preparation to sail out into the ocean in search of other worlds, but the night before they were supposed to leave a huge mass of darkness appeared in the sky over their island. Kairi went to investigate, as did Riku and Sora after her. While there she was attacked by the Heartless and lost her heart. Because she had no darkness within her, however, she produced no heartless herself. Instead her heart migrated into Sora's body, oddly enough, most likely as a reflection of her feelings for him, making her heart feel safer by being close to Sora's heart.
While inside Sora’s body, Kairi managed to appear to the boy as visions a handful of times, and also influenced his feelings such as making him feel like he recognized a picture of the Hollow Bastion castle when really it was Kairi who felt like she recognized her childhood home.
Meanwhile, during Sora's adventures searching for her and Riku, Riku made a deal with the witch Maleficent. Riku was working her to find Kingdom Hearts because he thought it would reveal a way to save Kairi's missing heart. With the witch’s help, he eventually managed to locate Kairi's body, an empty shell that appeared on another world after Destiny Islands disappeared into darkness. He went to retrieve her with Captain Hook's pirate ship, but Sora ended up encountering that very vessel on its way back through Neverland. Because her heart was inside him, Sora was the only one able to get even the faintest of a reaction from Kairi's limp body.
Riku left the ship with her and transported himself to Hollow Bastion using the powers of darkness he was learning to control. While Sora and his friends waited to have their gummi ship made able to reach the ruins of Hollow Bastion, Kairi's heart showed Sora one last vision, a memory of her childhood and a story from her grandmother, detailing the end of the old world when darkness appeared and the creation of the new world from the light left in the hearts of children.
When Sora finally did reach Kairi's body in Hollow Bastion, Riku had been fully possessed by the heartless of Xehanort, who's plan had finally come nearly full-circle. Welding a false Keyblade made from the hearts of the six other princesses, he revealed to Sora Kairi's identity as a princess of heart and the current location of her heart. Kairi spoke to Sora from within him as Ansem attempted to use his Keyblade to unlock the girl's heart from within him, prompting the boy to fight back and defeat his possessed friend. After the battle the dark Keyblade remained and Sora realized there was no other way, releasing his own heart in order to restore Kairi's.
Kairi awoke in her own body, fully remembering all the adventures she had been on while inside of Sora as well as what he had just done to save her. Still he disappeared and Riku's possessed body returned in a new form, that of Xehanort. With Kairi's heart restored and the other six princesses present as well the Final Keyhole had been completed, meaning that the door to darkness would soon appear. From within Riku held back his own body, urging Kairi to escape with Donald and Goofy. They did so but a Shadow heartless chased them all the way to the first room of the castle. Kairi was able to recognize it as Sora's new form and tried to protect him from the others while Donald and Goofy fought off the hordes of attacking heartless. Her heart was able to connect with Sora's before it was fully devoured by darkness and the boy was restored to his true form by her light. The four then escaped back to Traverse Town.
Kairi and Sora talked about what had happened while preparations were being made to return to Hollow Bastion, such as her always being with him. When finally it was time to go get Riku back, however, he insisted that she stay behind with Leon and his group because it was too dangerous. She was reluctant but eventually settled on giving Sora the lucky charm she had made, insisting that he have to return it to her one day so he had to promise to come back
Sora left to lock the final keyhole and then to find and defeat Ansem at the entrance to kingdom hearts. Kairi ended up following him in the end, appearing just as the door to darkness was locked by the Keyblades of the two realms. Sora promised her that he'd come back to her, he just had to find Riku first. As the worlds were restored Sora and Kairi were separated and she reappeared on the restored Destiny Islands.
While reminiscing, Kairi stumbled upon a picture of herself and Sora scribbled on the rock wall of the secret spot, where she found an addition Sora had made of himself offering her a paopu fruit. Touched by the gesture she too added an image of herself doing the same back before leaving and beginning her wait for her two best friends.

Kairi, now 15 years old, was living her life normally on Destiny Islands as a student in the school of the mainland. She missed Sora, but because he was inside of the flower pod, which he was in to restore his memory after Naminé and the Organization messed with it, she could not remember his name. After Sora’s nobody, Roxas, regained Sora’s memories and meets his other half, Kairi remembered his name to be Sora and sends out a letter in a bottle for him.
Soon after, Axel comes to Destiny Islands to get Kairi. She refuses to go with him, so Axel summoned a group of Nobodies to “convince” her and so she ran off into a near-by portal with King Mickey's dog, Pluto. Once through to the other side, she arrived in Twilight Town, where she met the real versions of Roxas’s friends. Eventually, she is found by Axel who then took her to The World That Never Was as Sora bait, but is freed by her Nobody, Naminé. Together the girls tried to escape, but are stopped by a certain berserker, blue haired Nobody named Saïx and some Nobodies who offer to take Kairi to Sora. She refused, spurring Saïx to nearly send the Nobodies to attack poor Naminé and Kairi, but Riku swoops in to save the day in the form of Xehanort's Heartless. Kairi was led to Sora by Riku, but and is attacked by a group of Heartless. This is where Riku handed Kairi a Keyblade. With Keyblade in hand, Kairi aids Riku in fighting off the massive amount of heartless. She is then reunited with Sora, so she showed him that Xehanort's Heartless was really their dear friend Riku.
Right as they are all about to take a portal back home together, Kairi gets separated from Sora and Riku again. She is sent back to Destiny Islands once again to wait for her friends to return. The boys fight and defeat Xemnas, and are ultimately returned to Destiny Islands as well, running up from the sea to rejoin Kairi.
It’s been 6 months since then, and live has been pretty uneventful for the young girl. She’s enjoying spending time with her two best friends, thankful they are both back at her side. But really, how long can things stay so peaceful?

Alignment: Hero

Appearance:
Physical Features: Kairi is rather on the petite side. She has long, long arms and legs but is far from gangly and awkward. She carries herself with a sense of pride one normally would not find in a young woman around her age. Lean and agile, Kairi rests mainly on speed and flexibility when maneuvering herself. The confidence she exhibits with her straight back stature tells the world that she’s no longer a damsel in distress!
Facial Features: A cute, rather kind girl, it is only natural that Kairi’s face matches her cheery personality. A smile always hangs on her face, and though the Princess of Hearts spends her days under the sun of Destiny Islands, her skin tone is the color of the beach’s pale sand, smooth to the touch and free of any blemishes or scars. And although Kairi’s not an original islander, her blue eyes are the color of Destiny Island Sea at its calmest. Kairi has a unique shade of hair color, described by many as deep cranberry in the natural sunlight of Destiny Island, and dark brown in environments with less lighting. Her hair had gotten longer, falling past shoulder length in layers. Kairi’s side parted bangs falls into her eyes, but the girl keeps it neat and attractive, so that it may never distract others from her beautiful blue eyes.
Clothing:
Kairi had a new makeover! Ever since the girl got her new keyblade, she decided to change the style of clothing she wears so she may engage in battle without being hindered by a mini skirt. Now, Kairi wears a modest yellow tee-shirt under a gray pull over vest that cuts off right under her chest. A pink belt is secured around the place where the vest cuts off. And instead of a pink skirt, the Princess of Hearts now wears a pair of pink shorts and two belts tied loosely around it. On her feet is a pair of stylish Paopu Fruit sneakers, purple of course to match with the rest of her attire.
Kairi’s school clothes consist of a simple white shirt that’s rolled up to her shoulders to created a tropical style and to escape the heat created by Destiny Islands. The white button up shirt is accompanied by a girlish checkered tie with different shades of blue and white stripes. The tie is loosely tied around the collar of the shirt and short, reaching only to her mid-rift. The lower part of the attire is a mini-skirt made of the same material as her tie. The skirt is ruffled and showed off Kairi’s elegant long legs and the navy blue, knee socks she wears. Accompanied with the socks is a pair of large black loafers, which are the standard of every school in Destiny Islands. For a school bag, Kairi carries a brown shoulder bag, which carries all of the girl’s school supplies.
Miscellaneous Items/Articles: As accessories, Kairi wears one bracelet on her left arm. It has no design but is baby blue in color. On her neck, she wears a pearl-like pendant held together by a thin black thread.

Personality:
Resolve:
People aren't a matter of light or darkness in Kairi's mind. She just doesn't see it that way. Sure, her heart was pure light...but she is a rare breed. There are only a handful like her. Every other heart contains both light and darkness, no matter the amount or dominant element of the two. It is just a fact, and Kairi disregards it in people. The same can't be said for the worlds. She knows that she has the fight the darkness to protect all she loves, as well as Kingdom Hearts. It's a matter of quality of life. Darkness must be stopped.
Pursuit:
She pushes on to help her best friends, Sora and Riku, stay out of trouble while they keep the worlds from slipping into darkness. Someone's got to keep them focused, right? They mean everything to her. As long as they press on in their pure goals, she'll be at their sides fighting the darkness as well, with her pretty pretty keyblade.
Fears:
Kairi really can’t say she’s afraid of much. Fear usually brings about darkness in one’s heart, and since her heart is pure light it is mostly devoid of such a thing. But she is human after all, so fear can’t be avoided all together. She just keeps it under control. The one thing that makes her most uncomfortable is the thought of losing her friends Sora and Riku again, whether by separation or to the darkness. She never wants to be left on the island without them ever again.
Hopes:
Kairi sincerely hopes that someday all the worlds will be at peace, and the threat of darkness will no longer loom over everyone’s heads, able to strike at any moment. Heartless are rather annoying..
In addition to that, she hopes to one day be as strong a keyblade warrior as Sora, no longer needing saved like a damsel in distress, as well as someday fall in love and start a family, but only when the worlds are safer than they are now if she can help it.
Hobbies:
She hangs out with Sora and Riku as much as possible. Whether it be games played in the treehouses and beaches of Destiny Island, lunch at school, or just sitting and talking under a Paopu tree, most of her time is spent with the two boys, trying to keep up with them despite the fact that she’s a girl.
Public Personality/Private Personality:
There really isn't too much of a difference between Kairi's public and private personalities. What you see is what you get. Kairi, while appearing delicate, is an incredibly courageous and determined young girl. Her friends mean the world to her, so she’s fiercely protective over them, and has risked her life for Sora more than once. As this implied, Kairi is sweet and kind-hearted, holding a deep caring to her core. You could say she's overflowing with optimism.
While she appears girly, this doesn’t mean she’s above being tomboyish when hanging out with Riku and Sora. Frankly, she's very tomboyish in general. The young girl has spunk, easily keeping up with the boys while she proves she can do just about anything they can, as well as keep up with their playful jeers at each other. While being pure of heart, she can also be very stubborn when she has to be, but it's usually always for the best.
She’s able to make friends very quickly, no matter the place or time, really. Perhaps a Princess of Hearts ability?

Weapons:
Weapon Name: N/A as of yet ((I affectionately call it Flowery Death in my head…>>))
Weapon Description: Kairi's Keyblade is flower themed, bright and colorful to seemingly match her personality. She thinks it’s a bit overly girly, but deep down she really likes the large flowers that make up teeth of the key, looking to be daisies of yellow, pink and purple hues. Vine/ribbon then spirals around the length of the weapon to to the hilt, halting there. The handle design mimics that of the heart seen in the Kingdom Hearts logo, only one side flairs out at the bottom into a wavy water design, appropriate to the meaning of her name. It also has a paopu fruit shaped keychain.
Unique Notes: The Keyblade was given to Kairi by Riku near the end of KH2 in the Castle that Never Was so she could help fight off heartless.
