General Character Information
--------------------------------------
Character Name: Azelas Demen Kurgos
Character Age: 15
Character Gender: Male
Character Race: Human
Character Position: Good
Character Personality: Azelas has a self-image of one being calm and collected in just about all situations, and makes a conscious effort to act that way. He often won't talk much and prefer to study another's actions before interacting with them. Knowledge is very important to him, more so than any personal ambition. It could also be said that he holds himself in high regard compared to others, but that's a fault he's partially aware of. Even in dangerous situations, he tries to remain calm and calculating, thinking that panicking in such a situation is wasting time. It's not a philosophy that he fits perfectly, but most of the time he's like that.

Battle Information
--------------------------------------
Weapon Name: A-Light Gloves
Weapon Appearance: Large, long black gloves with the number 1 on the back of one glove and the number 2 on the other. Also, he has a middle-sized dagger strapped to the belt on his waist.
Abilities:
Artificial Light Augmentation
His gloves can absorb the ambient darkness left over from defeated Heartless and turn it into a substance Azelas calls Artifical Light, or A-Light for short. It is stored in the forearm parts of the gloves until activation, at which point his gloves are augmented with the A-Light's power, increasing the damage of his attacks toward dark-element enemies. This works until the stored A-Light power runs out, and more A-Light cannot be collected while it is in effect. It can, however, be deactivated during use to conserve power.
Piercing Eye
Behind the eyepatch covering his left eye, there is a somewhat crudely made cybernetic eye. Another of Azelas's inventions, the "Piercing Eye" can only be activated for very short periods of time, about three seconds per use, and no more than four uses per hour. It allows him to analyze a magic- or energy-based ability and come to an understanding of how it works. It can't automatically allow him to replicate the ability (or get past it in some cases), but Azelas believes that the knowledge alone is a good trade-off. When the Piercing Eye is deactivated, hoever, it is completely useless. This means that most of the time Azelas only has one good eye. Even when it is activated, the enhanced sight throws his normal vision off a bit.
Multi-Purpose Dagger
Created as more of a gimmick than an actual utility, the knife strapped to Azelas' belt has a small built-in light bulb in the hilt for emergencies, as well as a homing signal that his Piercing Eye can detect when the signal is activated. These functions are rarely used, but Azelas feels more secure having more of his inventions on him.

Character History
--------------------------------------
Azelas Kurgos was born into a wealthy family, and had spent most of his young life studying and tinkering with the technologies at his family's disposal. His father was the owner of a large technological business, and so Azelas got introduced to many inventions from the beginning. Over time, he made a living as an inventor, creating fun and sometimes useful products for the people around him, trying to follow in his father's footsteps.
Then the Heartless arrived on his homeworld. The Kurgos family fortune was quickly taxed to fund the war effort against the monsters. The family business was soon diverted away from its somewhat respectable trade into the making of countless war machines. Azelas was not immune to such drastic changes, naturally. His inventions grew steadily more dangerous and imaginative as he tried to find a way to fight the dark creatures.
He tinkered with an idea for a while that the black monsters were weak to "light." Azelas formed a hypothesis that if the tangible darkness, supposedly having some kind of atomic magnetic charge, were to have its polarity become completely opposite, you'd end up with some kind of light. He made a small machine that did what he was looking for, and the resulting experiment got him something that wasn't quite "light," but close enough to be reasonably effective. He called it Artificial Light, or A-Light for short. Using the latest nanotech available at the time, he integrated the system into a pair of gloves that could also store the energy produced.
As his work went on, as well as the war, he became somewhat obsessed with the idea of a super-soldier, one that would be specialized against fighting the Heartless. He started training himself in some form of martial arts to better prepare himself, and also made a dagger that would be a backup if his normal abilities wouldn't keep up. Obviously, Azelas wanted to be that super-soldier.
He finally came up with the idea of the Piercing Eye, and paid the entire remainder of his family's fortune to pay one of his father's associates to conduct the surgery. It was a fairly smooth operation to begin with, but by the time the finishing touches were about to be made, the Heartless had managed to find his world's Keyhole, and the world soon collapsed into the darkness. Azelas, his heart so focused on fighting onward to defeat the Heartless, found himself waking up in another world.

Other
--------------------------------------
It should be noted that the A-Light Gloves' absorption ability won't work on defeated Nobodies. As of yet, Azelas has yet to encounter Nobodies, so he doesn't know this.
I'll be using a system to keep track of how much "A-Light" Azelas has at any one time. Basically, the Gloves can carry up to a 100% charge of A-Light, and defeating Heartless increases that level until it reaches maximum capacity.
Small Heartless, like Soldiers and Shadows, will increase the level by 5%.
Middle-size Heartless, like Armored Knights and Surveillance Robots, will make it increase 10%.
Larger Heartless, such as Large Bodies and Crimson Jazzes, will make it increase by 15%.
When the Augmentation ability is activated, the level will decrease by 10% for each post in which the use of the ability is included (including the activation and deactivation). Upgrading the Augmentation ability will decrease the cost.
