Character Personality: Rynn is a bit of a complicated girl. She has three distinctive parts to her, not to be confused with personalities. She's not crazy. Maybe they are better described as moods.
Upon first meetings, Rynn is rather timid and shy, quiet and cautious about what she says or how she presents herself, hoping for approval and afraid of being disliked or treated badly. She is not incapable of smiles though, and generally warms up quickly.
Usually she is very perky with a childlike-innocence at times, a personality developed to mask her inner pain and conflict. Her childhood was not one of the best, so this was her way of coping and staying sane and tolerable. She is most often seen in this mindset, happy and excessively kind. She can get chattery, but tried to avoid it because it's annoying..unless she's really excited or hyper, which isn't that often.
The third is, in fact, the inner personality; the pained, insecure, angry one. This only comes out in battles, however. She can only go so long before needing an outlet for this part of herself, often leading her to rushing off into danger if it’s been too long. She gets unbelievably antsy, and if not watched closely will suddenly disappear to find a battle.
Through these parts of her, though, she is a strong person. She may flinch when talked loudly to, and if someone near her makes sudden movements, but that has no effect on her inner strength to succeed. Flinching is just a habit she’s finding hard to break. She has a heart of gold and if someone is suffering, she’d gladly do anything to ease the pain, even if it causes her pain. That’s really her only other alternative when it comes to easing her own pain. Either battle, or help other people excessively.

Weapon Name: Wondrous
Weapon Appearance: Rynn carries a mages staff made of the hardest wood. It isn’t very long, about the length of her hip to mid-calf on her leg. She keeps it attached to her side. It contains a clear, diamond-like crystal that glows the color associated with the element she’s using, most often a deep blue in its curved wooden clutch.
Abilities:
Rushing Ripples: Rynn is a "water Mage", meaning she has mastered the art of using water offensively in battle. With this attack, Rynn draws as much moisture out of the air, objects or nearby water sources as she wants or needs with the aid of her staff. Once in tangible form, she can manipulate it. This can be into a tidal wave, large water whip, whirlpool, or water sphere. Since this is a rather strong attack, it can be used for only one post at a time and has a cooldown of five turns.
Survivor: This a defense ability that ups the amount of hits she can take in battle. It was developed and cultivated through her sickness as a child being trained, as well as though the abuse in later years. It's a constant move that engages upon battle's start. It does not drastically up defense to a godly, unbeatable level, only dulls the pain and the effects of injuries until the battle is over.
Elemental Attempt: This is a weak attack with Fire, Thunder or Ice. The element is often at random, and not even Rynn knows which will happen. It is a very common attack for her to use though, like an extension of her staff. Because of the lack of power, this move requires no cooldown.

Rynn is from a long line of mages. Every child born to the family was expected to master the basics of every element (water, ice, fire, thunder) by the age of six years old, for the purpose of aiding the fight against heartless and protecting the family, as well as plain family pride at their strength. From there, each element is to be strengthened until mastery (Firaga, thundaga, etc.) is achieved by the age of sixteen. Still then, the student is to become the teacher and teach the children below mastery, as well as learning various other magics besides the basic elements, such as wind, gravity and so on.
Rynn, unfortunately for her, could not conform to the mage-mold of her home. She had minimal knowledge of fire, thunder or ice She was teased as the “poor little water mage”. Sickly as a young girl, her body was frail and small, so she found it hard to work for long ours over all the elements. Water was the first on the list for the day, and usually she’d complete her training with that element, then be too tired or sick to continue on.
She had two teachers, since her people considered her a 'special needs' case. These two were her older brother and his friend. While they could've been very good teachers had she been more healthy, they were not very understanding of her needs, and resorted to harsh punishment. Being deprived of food was the most common, that or ridiculous chores.
The older Rynn became, the harsher the punishments. Thankfully she was strengthening into a healthy girl, but years of only being able to practice water-related magic had crippled her other basic element use severely. Her teachers kept working with her to the point of anger when she couldn't get it right.
It was one day that her brother went too far. Rynn still couldn't perfect the basic elements when she was supposed to have them mastered by the age she was now, and he lashed out with a powerful thunder spell, striking her in the side in his frustration. Once he realized what he'd done to his little sister, as well as breaking the family rule of never using magic against family members, he attempted to apologize in a panic-stricken state.
“It’s too late to apologize!” she screamed, picking herself up, gripping the wound she possessed. She could only glare at him and the approaching friend. She'd had enough abuse over the years. She was at the end of her rope, so she ran with nothing but her clothed, her cloak, her staff and her wound.
Since then, now a year later, she has ended up in Traverse Town, penny-less, homeless, and sporting a scar resembling a rather large bold of lightning all down her right side, from about her mid-rib cage area to just below her black skirt on the upper part of her thigh. It also scared her elbow a bit. She keeps these scars hidden the best she can, thinking they are hideous, though really they aren't ugly at all.
She spends her time trying to survive, often having to steal to have food, as well as finding rather clever hiding places to sleep in. She also fights heartless for the weaker members of the community, which sometimes earns her munny though she doesn't request it.
