General Character Information

Character Name: Kia Ryou
Character Age: 20
Character Gender: Female
Character Race: Human
Character Position: Good, for now.
Character Personality: Kia has quite the explosive personality. She’s fairly violent, but at least she looks beautiful while she attempts to dismantle you with her bare hands. Despite this lack of anger management, she’s committed and somewhat loyal to those she considers pals of hers. She’s incredibly perceptive. Sometimes she comes off as uncaring, tending to shrug off dire situations no matter who’s around. She isn’t the most outwardly expressive of how she really feels. Kia often puts on a mask of a different emotion, usually an opposite one or just anger when she feels the threat of vulnerability.
Kia is a tomboy. Quite frankly, she talks like a boy, rough, loud and proud. Thankfully her tone would only match that of a pre-pubescent boy, the only thing betraying she’s most likely female should she walk up behind you and start talking. It’s a shock that she likes her girly outfit as much as she does. Her parents were always thankful she liked shirts because at least she can’t be mistaken for a boy with those legs and curves…
Kia is also very conscientious about her short stature, and doesn’t take kindly to comments about it.

Battle Information
--------------------------------------
Weapon Name: Licorice
Weapon Appearance: Licorice is a long black whip with intricate red designs along it’s hand grip. The hand grip is about 16 inches, long, the actual weapon part 12 feet. The very tip of Licorice is frayed for added pain, each fiber alternating between red and black.
Abilities:
Burning Flesh-ripper
Thorns sprout up all along the length of the whip, up to an inch long and sharpened, perfect for whipping out to grab and tear at exposed flesh. Minute holes in the thorns then open up allow for fire to be pushed out steadily to char the skin captured by or near the thorns. Kia and Licorice can only keep the thorns extended for two posts, and must rest four posts before using it again.
Poison Tip
The frayed tip of the whip secretes a fairly potent black poison that, if it comes into contact with a wound on the opponent, infects them and causes small amounts of damage for three to five posts. The effect then wears off. The poison remains on the tip only until it has made contact, then dries up for at least six turns.
Tomboy Strength
For this ability, the strength in Kia’s arms and hands is greatly enhanced, giving her the ability to hold on to Licorice no matter what the circumstance. She uses this in other ways as well. For instance, if she can capture her victim in a whip hold, she’ll attempt to yank them to her quickly, their neck in her free hand’s grasp. She then applies a heavy pressure, meant to restrict the flow of oxygen flow so quickly that the foe passes out or at least gets dizzy. Another use is for increased skill in wielding Licorice and smashing through walls if need be. This only lasts for one turn, and a cooldown of six turns.

Character History
--------------------------------------
Kia grew up fairly peacefully on a world actually still intact and thriving. Sure, it has been tainted by the touch of heartless, but it maintains its light.
From a young girl up, Kia was raised with all boys. There were her three brothers (two older, one younger), and then there were the six boys living on the same block as she did. The poor girl had no choice other than to be rowdy and loud, just as rough and tough as a boy, much to her mother’s chagrin. It was a learned and cultivated behavior that couldn’t be prevented. There were only two girls she went to school with, and by the time she met them she was already a blatant tomboy and the girls wanted nothing to do with her. That was fine by her. In her opinion she was prettier than them anyway, so they could just be friends with each other while she played with the boys.
One day, Kia and the rest of her friend now well into their teens decided it would be cool if they snuck into this creepy old house that was supposedly completely abandoned and spent the night. A cliché idea, yes, but at the time it’d seemed amusing. Armed with sleeping bags, flashlights and pillows, the troop invaded the rickety old house and settled on the second story. The library had the biggest open space for all of them to stay together and be comfortable, plus many interesting books they could nose through to waste time. After all, the last one to get spooked enough to leave the house before daybreak would win all the cash they’d collected during the summer. It came down to Kia and her best friend Raike.
It was then things got really weird. The room started to tremble, and books started to fling out from the book case at them from all sides. Kia, refusing to show her fear, swatted angrily at the books while Raike cowered under a sleeping bag. It was then she spotted a rather grotesque, ancient looking man peering from behind a hidden door in the book case. How…original. Just as she was about to laugh at the irony the man’s face contorted into an expression she thought only possible on a demon’s face, hatred and insanity dripping like venom. As his wild gaze locked on hers and he let lose a chilling cackle, she realized this man was not of this world. He knew of magics she’d only read about, and he had the darkness of heart to use them on her. Her purple eyes widened and she stood, finally ready to admit fear and defeat and run. She turned to kick Raike so he could escape with her, only to find both of her feet unable to be lifted. They had sunk down into the hardwood floor! As she fought to get them loose in vain, the hardwood morphed into inky black goop littered with dark blue and violet hues with white speckles. Kind of what the universe would look like if it were made into pudding. It quickly sucked her under before she could even get out a squeak of dismay.
She never found out what happened to Raike, and all the boys of her town ever knew was she disappeared that night, adding to the frightening mystery of the old house.
The goop soon coughed her up on a strange world after only a mere seconds of nauseating travel. A safe bet of a million dollars said she was so far away from her world that she’d never see it again unless magic of the same type as the crazy old man’s was used. She slowly sat up, mind numb as she gazed around the strange new place. A neon light informed her she was in a place called Twilight Town. Standing up, she brushed herself off and secured her footing before setting off to find a place to stay for the night, knowing this would be one long, but exciting adventure. She was actually looking forward to it. It was a good thing she was self sufficient. She would need to be as she started traveling all by herself across worlds she’s never heard of before, though she won't know how she actually started her journey..
Two and a half years later, Kia 'woke up' standing in the midst of mounts of sand, a desert, with a strange whip in her hand and dressed in a different, more battle friendly outfit. It seemed there had been a large battle judging from the craters and other disturbances in the otherwise smooth sand, but there was no one around. The past two and a half years since arriving for that brief moment in Twilight Town were a complete mystery to her. She'd found an Inn and went to sleep..then what? She was waking up here. What had she done, and what was she doing standing here here with a whip? She was only left with the knowledge of how to use the whip, her abilities, and that she had just turned twenty years old. Even though this bothered her greatly, it seemed that her adventure had just gotten even more interesting.
