Space, the endless abyss flowed with planetary debris chunks of rock left over from when the universe had first come into being. Stars lit up creation illuminating the celestial bodies that made up entire galaxies. Planets orbited their respective stars, as all good satellites should, following the exact order to which they had been given. It was a beautiful site and orbiting a nearby green and blue planet a ship had weighed anchor so to speak and only one man stood on its decks.
A sheen of sweat glistened over his pale cadaverous flesh as Captain Hook practiced his fencing, clad only in a pair of brown breeches with his hair tied back with red ribbon. The captain went about the motions sparring with some invisible opponent, one that seemed to fast to follow as his gaze switched between several places before settling on a place and with a shout of crazed glee mixed rage he pounced and drove his sword through the wooden railing of his ship.
Hook sighed and slumped against the railing sinking down to his knees trying to catch his breath. By the hours of Neverland, a place at the moment he was far removed, it was three in the morning. All this late night practice would be the end of him but those blasted brats had humiliated him. Beaten by mere children word was spreading he needed to be better, stronger his skills topping swank, because only those who had fought the children new their strength. “ Alas, gone are the days of life on the sea, my adventures are near done and my greatest enemies are gone and now I am left with children to contend with.” He muttered to himself his eye bleary as the rest of his energy ebbed away. No!
A dangerous look crept into his eyes as he continued his rambling the effects of the wine he had drunk sometime ago still present leaving a terrible taste in his mouth and the beginning of a hangover in his mind. “ Those brats be some of the strongest batch I’ve seen since my own child hood,” he stood up staggering under the sudden fatigue, “ I’ll face them while I’ve still got some life in this body of mine.”
“ Caap’n! Isn’t it time you get to bed.” Ah yes, Smee. The old man had no doubt been woken by his shouts as he dueled with Pan for the third time that night. The old fool sounded worried but Hook did not have the energy to look up and merely thanked him as Smee took him to his cabin and set him in his bed and turned to leave.
" Smee, put out the light." he said rolling over into his bed.
