Physical appearance
Cid is by no means a charitable looking man. He stands at the medium height of 5ft 10, though at times he might appear shorter due to his tendency to slouch. For a man who is usually found sitting in front of the computer, Cid has a very muscular build, coming off as the kind who would have no problem kicking your ass and still perform heavy labor afterwards with no problem. In reality, the man’s age and his computer job is slowly catching up with him. Not that he’d ever admit that. Thirty five is still young and fresh!
Cid Highwind has a head of natural blond hair, and hair is messily chopped and tucked under a pair of goggles that seemed to be always attached above his brow. The pair of goggles is actually from his beloved Shera, and though the goggles are put through wear and tear, the pilot highly cherishes the protective eyewear—not to mention it had saved him from going blind one too many times. His eye color matches the single thing he held enormous passion for—the sky. Those azure blue eyes are always squinted into a frown though, and it seemed that Cid's infamous scowl is impossible to erase at times.
Clothing/Accessories
The mechanic wears a simple white shirt with buttons at the collar. Around his waist is a strange orange cover that seemed to be void of any specific contribution or use except as an accessory. In reality though, Cid hides multiple homemade bombs under the waist cover. Sound like a suicide bomber doesn't it? Nah, the man's way too smart to do something like that. Also hidden under the belt is a small pouch of gummi blocks. Why he carries it around? Well, you’ll see.
From the waist down, Cid dresses in a navy blue pants that are tucked into gray leggings, which in turn covered a pair of black boots. And finally around his neck hangs a brownish amulet on leather string. No one is sure of what's inside the amulet bag though. To replace his habit of smoking, Cid can always be seen with his trademark stick, tucked between his teeth as a substitute for a cigarette.

Alignment
Grumpy good
Behavior
Foul mouthed and constantly scowling, Cid displays a tough exterior for all to see. Rough with his words, the Mechanic can be blunt and rude. He makes sure to inform you of what he thinks of you, and most of the time, it's very little. Cid Highwind holds nothing back, and he doesn't give a damn if you want to hear it or not. It can be said that this pilot's bark is worse than his bite. Cid on the other hand, claims that they're equally horrible. In other words, don't try to agitate the man. But to a few, if can be confirmed that that the blond can be caring and kind. Cid possessed a good heart, and no matter how vulgar he may be, the man knows the difference between right and wrong, and can be sensitive too... only if he wants to. N
Having a short fuse and a sharp tongue, Cid can be annoyed easily [sometimes a bit too easily]. His temper is well known between his friends and customers sometimes. Cid especially hates the term 'old man', which was quite often used on him. He was only thirty five for heaven's sakes. There is no reason to call him an old man. His language can burn ears off and cause sailors to tremble, but recently, the Pilot had tried to tone down on his brash words.
Possibly because of his maturity [though at times, the mechanic seem to lack just that] Cid has a certain sense of duty to him. One can see that the man is a responsible person, often taking up the job of leader when the right hero isn’t there to take the place and making the rash decisions for the group. He doesn’t often use his leadership skills thanks to his friend Leon being there constantly to take up the mantle of leader. He cherishes his friends, and is willing to give his life for them at the drop of a pin. They just don't know that, and he does not mind it. Cid despises ooey-gooey gushiness. His ‘adopted’ children knew they can always count on him though, grumpy as he is, the mechanic is reliable [though not so eager to help]
A veteran in battles, Cid now prefers to stay away from brawls and fighting, using his homemade spear only on heartless. Recently though, ever since the restoration of Radiant Garden’s name and the RGRC was formed, Cid had been finding himself more on the battle field than in Merlin’s house. Unfortunately, the mechanic’s not in his best shape. Yet.
Never a strategist, Cid utilizes the element of surprise by charging headlong into a battle. Stubborn and never hesitant, the man knows nothing of caution, using pure strength and fueled anger. Surprisingly, this method of fighting had gotten him this far, and with not even a scar to brag about.
Being the logical man that he was, Cid prefers science to magic. A genius with mechanics, he is the person to go to when assistance is needed for gummi ships or other machines. Cid is passionate about flying, and the only time he ever willingly show affection and sweet talk is when discussions turn to flying or gummi ships. He can be easily upset if he finds a gummi ship battered, rammed, and hopelessly beyond repair, especially if he was the one who built it. Usually, that person never sees their gummi ship again, and is booted out Cid's door.
Some strange habits that could be observed about the pilot is that when cooking, Cid seems to use almost everything in the fridge to make the meal, be it sugar, tangy, sour, salty, bitter. Strangely enough, the food comes out looking like a well made cuisine straight out of mother's kitchen. The taste however, is to kill for. Literally. Sometimes, it may be too hard to chew, other times, it could produce a series of ailments ranging from headaches, stomach aches, upset bowls, jello limbs, and in a worst case scenario--death. But no one has reached that stage yet, so Cid's food have still been considered somewhat edible.
Another bizarre talent he possesses, or a curse in some circumstances, is the fact that Cid seemed to have radar for his gummi ships. In his head. Every time a ship of his, whether it had been sold or lent, crashes or gets damaged beyond repair, Cid has a strange migraine. The migraine signaled him that someone had indeed busted his aircraft. And there will be hell to pay if he ever finds you again, so either learn to drive properly or steer clear of Radiant Garden and the Gummi Mechanic if you ever have thoughts to come back to acquire another ship.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Primary Weapon
Weapon Name: Venus Gospel
Weapon Description: The Venus Gospel is the brain child of Cid and was created when he lived in Traverse Town. After the incident in Hollow Bastion, Cid found his plain homemade spear to be completely useless, at best to be used for digging out weeds. Cid was convinced that part of the reason why he couldn’t save the people most important to him in Radiant Garden because his weapon was a piece of crap. So after settling in Traverse Town, Cid threw his spear in the dump and sat down to create a completely new weapon which he named the Venus Gospel. The spear is 5ft 11 inches, a reasonable length for the stocky man. The handle is a cool metallic, polished often by the pilot, and the blade at the end is far more intricate than the primitive spear: a longer spear head and two additional blades on the sides that make sure that once lodged deep into the opponent, to tear it out would be hazardous. Not far below is a hand guard, creating a resemblance to a knight’s lance. Permanently inserted into the spear is the rare gummi block Holy, which had magically fused with the spear when a Fire Gummi block gone awry nearly melted the Venus Gospel.
Unique Notes: The weapon is heavier than it looks, weighed down by the tinkering Cid had done on the weapon. However, it now works also as a blunt weapon as well as being stable enough so that it doesn’t get easily knocked out of Cid’s hand.
Cid had created pockets in the spear to hold gummi block modifications.
Quality:
SupremePaladin
Holy, a rare element of light highly effective against creatures of the dark and those with affiliation to the darkness. When infused into the Venus Gospel, the weapon itself gained a strong link with the light inside the Holy gummi, lending it extraordinary powers over creatures with ill intent, namely heartless. Any heartless or enemies with a tie to darkness would experience double the damage dealt with just a normal blow of Cid’s spear or even if they come in contact with any part of the Venus Gospel. Any wounds caused by the Venus Gospel on dark enmities would have a lasting burn throughout the duration of the battle. The power of Holy is enough to take out Shadows and Soldiers with a single swift blow and render the rest of the harder to tackle heartless much easier for someone like Cid to take out. All other enemies experience the same amount of damage as Cid’s spear normally would deal. Light enemies receive 1/3 less damage than normal enemies do.
Strength: Weak
Uses: Passive, effective only against heartless and enemies tied with darkness element.
Dragon Knight
Spinning his weapon in front of him, the Venus Gospel can create not only the ability Dragon Song, but also add boosts the power of Dragon Song and add a powerful finale as the ability Dragon Knight kicks in. Ever since the installation of the holy gummi in the Venus Gospel, Dragon Song is boosted up to a strong ability when used. Swinging the weapon, it not only starts shrieking but also charges up the holy energy, causing the funnel to glow a pale while light and deals light damage in addition to causing pain and hindering balance. As Dragon Song near its end, the weapon the light rushes to the center point of the spinning spear. From within the dying funnel of cacophony, three beams of lights, in the shape of Dragons about the size of a small human child, streams forward at a rather fast speed [fast enough to make dodging difficult] and proceed to try and home in on the opponent. If the target moves sharply at the last minute, they would be able to dodge the light blasts. The three streams of lights can either strike all at once to increase the damage or one at a time to try and assault nimbler enemies. Deals double damage against dark enemies.
Strength: Weak
Uses: Effective only when Dragon Song is in use. Applies for every other usage of Dragon Song.
Dragon's Breath
Adding a fire gummi into the weapon's hilt, Dragon's Breath immediately comes into play. Supercharged by the fire and light, the three blades of the Venus Gospel gains the power to set anything flammable on fire instantaneously, soften metal or melt glass upon contact, or even leave second degree burns on open flesh. The three prong blades of the weapon are a ferocious red color during this age an give off a stifling heat wave that only those who constantly work with heat would be able to stand it [namely Cid]. This highly dangerous stage of the Venus Gospel lasts for about four posts unfortunately, the burns lasts for the remainder of the battle, hindering the opponent, but not enough to completely put them out of battle unless they have been struck a considerable amount of times. The fire leaves no damage on the metal of the weapon, or Cid, surprisingly. However, anyone of Cid's allies would have to take precautions not to touch the blades [or piss him off], lest they want their hair frizzed and skin burned off.
Another way to release the heat, like the ability of the Dragon's to breathe fire, is to let the spear 'breathe' out a blast of scorching fire and searing hot air, something highly similar to a flame thrower with the exception that the fire breath homes in on the opponent like a dragon. The fire can be easily dodged if you duck at the last minute. The effect is the same as the other method, albeit a bit more effective in rendering someone completely burnt and useless or causing major destruction [which is why he does not use it often. Especially when he's near town.]
Strength: Moderate
Uses: Five post cool down.
The Venus Trinity
The Holy Trinity is split into three different techniques, each based on the light energy channeling through Cid's Venus Gospel:
[Venus' Cannon]
Venus' Cannon is created to parallel the power of one of Cid’s bulkier hand held cannon he had first used in Traverse Town to beat off the heartless when he didn’t have a weapon. [For any who have read the manga adaption of Kingdom Hearts, they would have remembered the small black box that Cid used on the heartless chasing Sora, yes this is based on that.] Tucking his weapon under his arm, Cid braces himself as the three points of Venus Gospel’s blade begin glowing with a white hot light. Within seconds, the three points converge and fires a blast so powerful at the enemy that the backlash would send Cid flying back nine or ten feet at the speed of a race car. The blast itself is ten feet in radius and can travel as far as 50 feet at the speed of a jet engine. It harms both heartless and humans but pass through anything inanimate and solid without even creating a dent. However, it would be useless to hide behind any buildings or such since the beam cuts right through solid objects and continue to harm anything of flesh behind it like light through glass. The beam not only burns any part of the victim it strikes but also knocks them back ten or fifteen feet in the process. Cid cannot control where the light goes thanks to the backlash and it only travels in a straight line. Anyone within five feet of Cid at the point of the firing but not directly in the blast zone of Venus' Cannon would experience a wave of heat hot enough to frizz hair and be knocked back five to six feet. Anyone standing behind Cid would be safe from the wind and the blast. Venus' Cannon can be easily dodged thanks to the few seconds of pause during which Cid’s spear starts glowing.
[Venus' Destruction]
The power of the blast can be transferred by jabbing or touching [it must make some mark on the object] the Venus Gospel into a surface or object. The touched object would glow a pale white immediately upon contact, however, nothing would happen…until the enemy touch the light, or at least, until the time is up. Upon any form of contact, the light would explode like a small landmine, assaulting the victim with the hot light similar to the blast of its first form, though on a less damaging degree. Despite the explosion, no surface would not suffer any damage. Again, only flesh [and whatever those heartless are made of…] would be effected. The light lasts for three turns if undisturbed. As soon as three turns are up, the bright areas would immediately erupt despite being untouched. The most area the light bombs can encompass is 40 by 40 square ft and can be spread out in many different spots. The larger the area, the lighter the blast.
[Venus' Blessing]
And finally, the power can be condensed into a force field. By slamming Venus Gospel into the ground, anything within fifteen feet diameter would become engulfed in a swell of bright Holy energy, creating a field during which nothing can penetrate the walls and harm the people behind the walls unless the ability is made for penetrating shields. The field is ten feet high and comes in the shape of a half circle at the beginning of formation but after one post, or before the end of the post, if willed by Cid, the dome would seemingly cave in from the convergence point then implode, blasting out balls of energy the size of baseballs. The people inside would remain uninjured, of course. Victims experience burns and the damage of a painful smack by a baseball at a moderate speed. The balls can be easily deflected by a shield or cut by steel.
Only one can be done per usage of ability thus, Cid cannot perform combinations of this ability.
Strength:Strong
Uses: [For all] Once per post. Cool down of five posts
Status effect: Max AP
When in status effect, Cid's weapon gains a soft white glow. If Cid is to touch the opponent with the weapon, or if the Venus Gospel made any contact with an aggressive and active ability, it would temporarily flare brightly, but not bright enough to blind or hinder the opponent. The actual effect is similar to that of leeching. Once the Venus Gospel touched an ability, the weapon will immediately downgrade that ability into its weakest form. If the ability affected by the status was weak to begin with, it is removed from the opponent’s arsenal until the status effect is over. In return, one of Cid’s abilities would be upgraded one level if applicable. If it touches a character, two AP will be taken from the weakest ability and moved to Cid’s non-weapon abilities. As soon as the effect is over, all AP's are replaced and returned to their rightful owners.
Uses: Three post duration for the ability and the effect and three post cool down.Secondary Weapon(s)
Lady Luck
For someone who lacks strategic prowess and utilizes the element of surprise, to have gone this far without a single battle scar or injury to speak of, one might suspect that there must be some kind of lucky star supporting Cid Highwind. Which really, is quite true.
For some unseen reason, the pilot has the power of the Goddess of Chance backing him up in battles. In battle, the man seems to attain a strange glowing sheen to his appearance for the duration of two posts. During these two posts, any magic, long ranged abilities aimed at the man will miraculously fly off target and miss, no matter how perfectly aimed the attack was. It does not nullify or absorb the attack. The attack simply misses, even if it’s supposedly dead accurate. Any close ranged physical attack will require his own skills to dodge or deflect for Lady Luck will not have any effect on any attack thrown at Cid within a five feet radius. Basically, it’s down to nail and teeth when Lady Luck is activated.
If one stare close enough, they would be able to see a ghostly figure of a woman with long flowing hair looming behind the man. Creepy, huh?
Dragoon Skin
A simple ability gained again through Cid’s ancestors, thanks to Dragoon Skin, Fire magic, and abilities/weapons with fire attributes would have less of an effect on the mechanic. Strong abilities will deal the same amount of power as it normally does. Ice magic will deal normal damage on the blond.
Dragon Song
With a few personally-made modifications to his spear using his high-level engineering ability, Cid Highwind is capable of using this special attack. By spinning his spear in front of him at a rapid pace and creating a circular pattern in the air, the spear's modifications activate from the intake of air. The weapon shoots out a powerful and constant series of sounds in a whirlwind-like pattern from the spinning weapon, strong enough to create visible distortions in the air. The act of spinning the spear in order to produce this effect allows Cid to protect himself with a rotating shield as it is performed.
The enclosed whirlwind shape of the sound waves prevents nearby allies from being affected by this attack unless they accidentally wander within it's area of effect. Inside of the attack's influence there are numerous pitches that sound like terrible screeching noises. The screeching attacks a living thing's sense of hearing to cause large amounts of pain and discomfort, as well as a severe loss of concentration and equilibrium, literally throwing them into a violent wind tunnel of sound.
The modifications made to the spear he built from scratch include the ability to release these noises from a wide array of pitches. This allows the Dragon Song attack to be simultaneously effective against humans, dogs, and everything above and below. If you can hear, then chances are this ability will have power over you. Because of the vibrations caused by this whirlwind of sound, constant exposure to the attack over several turns becomes highly damaging to the body as well as to inanimate structures. This ability could be used from far-ranged as well as close-ranged. Anything beyond 200 feet would easily avoid the distorted sound patterns. As long as the target could hear, it would affect them, but it is much more effective if Cid was close to the target. Dragon song can last for as long as Cid continues to spin the weapon at the required speed, as soon as he slows, stops, or have his spear knocked out of his hand, the attack automatically stops. Every other use of this ability, Dragon song is boosted up to a strong ability thanks to the addition of light attack added into the funnel.
Dragoon Blood
Dragoons essentially are people who have trained with spears and perfected in jumping at such high altitude and speed that it could have easily tear through human’s lungs and leave permanent damage on their body. So in a sense, thanks to genetics, Cid can take more shit than any normal human can. The Dragoon Blood inside Cid allows the man to super-boost his body, allowing him to recover faster from physical abilities that causes strain on the man. During a four post duration, Cid can eliminate all cool downs that has to do with physical abilities and equips [Lady Luck, passive abilities, and all weapon abilities excluded]. This allows the man to continuously use his abilities without tiring. Cooldown of abilities used begin immediately after the four post duration is through. All abilities used during the Dragoon Blood stage will have additional cool downs added to its original amount according to how many times the ability is used during the four post duration [so at most, an addition of four posts cool down for any ability]. If the ability/equip has a limited amount of use, it cannot be used again for the rest of the battle regardless of how many times Cid used it during Dragoon Blood. Abilities that are still in cool down phase when the seven post cool down of Dragoon Blood is up cannot be used until its cool down is over. Battlefield Veteran is also effected after the use of Dragoon Blood. All of Cid’s stats would be reduced by half to make up for the amount of power used up during the use of this ability.
Battlefield Veteran
Having been a fighter for a majority of the nine years in Traverse Town, Cid, though not as nimble and powerful as Leon, is quite fit for his age. An expert in the field of battling [though not of strategy and finesse] the mechanic’s performance is usually fueled by emotions or just the element of surprise. For a man his size, he’s astoundingly light footed, perfect for the rash sneak attack that might just be the key to take out his opponent. For someone so impulsive on the battlefield and still have all four limbs attached [not to mention no scars to show off], one would assume Cid to be quite in tune with his surroundings. When faced with open hostility against his home or anyone associated with him, the normally grumpy Cid would become a grumpy and dangerous Cid. The minute Cid’s emotions begin to hype up, the mechanic’s endurance, speed and power increases by three-folds and remains so for the remainder of the battle, until said hostility has disappeared. Like a berserker [with the mind still intact, of course] the man can take multiple hits that would usually render anyone his age unconscious and still go on with little more than a bit of raggedy breath. His alertness is also sharpened, gaining superior reaction time to almost any normal attacks that aren't moving at superman speed. Cid’s attack strength is incomparable to any normal man’s, though not supernatural compared to his reaction and endurance. One must remember that Cid is older than most battler and not in the best of shape after spending a year in front of the computer. Battlefield Veteran gives Cid superior advantage against almost any kind of threat, especially those that pissed him off. When paired with Big Brawl, Cid’s fighting power and speed with handling the Venus Gospel becomes demi-godly, making him powerful enough to even take on Hercules himself.
Hyper Jump
An attack that depended on Cid’s modification to his spear, the key part of this ability is the compact Graviga Gummi Block integrated as a part of Cid’s custom spear as it was going through the making. Jumping almost invisibly high into the air in a feat impossible for most men, Cid activates the Graviga during his descent. It is built so that when air current flows directly into the spear's head(The opposite of Dragon Song) at terminal velocity for a certain length of time the spear starts charging up the Gummi's energy. Landing on his target or at the area surrounding the target at a crushing speed, Cid slams the spear into the ground, creating a mini size explosion the earth [or marble, cement, depends on what the material of the ground is] all the while spreading around him an 8 ft radius of power discharge that sends out waves of Gravity magic and greatly enhances the power of the blast zone. Anyone within the 8 ft radius would be struck with gravity strong enough to not only blow them quite a distance away, but also pin them down for the entire duration of their next round. Weight and physical strength would not help them escape this power, just like it would not for a normal gravity spell. The further away from the midpoint of his landing, the less effected by the force wave you are damage-wise. If Cid should land directly on his target [which is rare since his accuracy is cut in half when using this attack] the full force of the attack—even when blocked with a shield or skilled sword hand—causes truly crushing immobilization and damage.
As soon as Cid lands, he immediately bounces back up due to the momentum of his jump and land a safe distance away from the targets, for this ability has a double edge. The force of leaping so high and descending at terminal velocity through the air takes a fair-sized chunk out of the pilot's stamina. This makes constantly consecutive uses of Hyper Jump impossible.
Strength: Strong
Uses: Three posts cool down
Dragon Dive
For this attack, Cid had etched out three small grooves in the triple blades of the Venus Gospel, big enough to place a small sized gummi block in each groove. Though individually, these Tornado gummi blocks don’t do much except to look pretty, when all three are used together, the effect could be devastating. Jumping, though not as drastic a leap as Hyper Jump, the Tornado gummi blocks would activate upon Cid’s descend, and three small whirlwinds would erupt from the blades and begin to form around Cid and his spear, converging into a giant cocoon like tornado. Along with the deafening roar and the whip like wind, the tornado gains a bouncy quality to it. As soon as Cid lands—either on the enemy or on the ground—Cid would bounce right back up, and like a pogo stick, continue to pound down on multiple enemies with the same force for three consecutive blows. Each time Cid lands, the tornado would seemingly bundle up and spew forth a great gust of wind, scattering thin razor like wind currents in all directions, causing cuts to both enemies and friends alike. The wind currents could be easily deflected with a shield or a steel sword and can only cut skin. Despite that, the sheer amount of razors would make it hard to deflect all of them unless the target is in possession of a giant shield. The cuts cannot kill someone so close to the center of tornado though. And even if they managed to avoid all of the razors, the giant gust of wind belched out by the tornado would be near impossible to avoid.
Anyone caught within the whirlwind [aka if Cid manages to hit you straight on], would be blown a maximum of forty or fifty feet away from the impact point depending on their size, and along with being tossed like a rag doll, the target would also experience whip lash of the wind, causing welts and small cuts. Similar to Hyper jump, if Cid manages to land within eight feet of his target, they would be pelted by winds strong enough to throw them back a mere four or five feet. However, the further away from the point of impact a person is, the more dangerous it is. The razor scattered by the tornado gains momentum and size as it moves further away from the impact point at high speed and merge with the hundred other smaller currents expelled by the tornado. Visible to the naked eye, these boomerang shaped wind currents, again could be easily deflected by shield or well placed sword, however, should one be unfortunate enough to be hit by one, it would cause a large gash or even chop the unsuspecting up into bits [if they’re not wearing any clothes]. Like its smaller counterparts, these larger and faster currents can only cut through skin and are quite harmless if you’re well equipped. They do not gain any strength, increasing only in size and speed, and the number of them actually decreases as they move further away from the cyclone. Beyond the eight feet radius, they simply become whipped away by the winds, once again harmless breeze.
With each landing, the tornado would become smaller and smaller, most of its devastating wind spread out and turning into razors. Thus, with each bounce, there will be less and less power behind the attack. By the third blow, the gummis would have been near used up for the next four posts. This attack is most effective if there are a lot of enemies, namely heartless or nobodies without protective coverings.
Big Brawl
By placing a sonic turbo gummi—originally created to improve gummi ship movements—Cid can momentarily lighten the of the Venus Gospel so much that it's as light as a pebble, giving it enough weight to still hurt the opponent when striking them. In addition to that, a golden light envelops Cid, bestowing upon him the power of haste. During this stage, Cid’s speed increase by three folds, making him practically a golden blur while attacking and neigh impossible to block. The increase in speed allows him to bring up enough momentum to run across walls, scale buildings, and jump across buildings. The equip, Ultima Weapon, upon activation during this stage allows the flimsy strikes of the spear [because it’s so light] to quadruple, making him powerful enough to blow holes in cement simply by thrusting. Cid’s speed and deftness with the Venus Gospel is tripled, making his attacking movements so fast that it becomes a blur for all but the sharpest opponent [those who have specific abilities that give them god-like senses]. However, because of the lack of weight in his weapon, deflecting Cid's blows become twice as easy. The only problem is whether you can catch up to the old man's attacking speed.
Mop and Tiny Bronco [Bronco for short]
Appearance(s)
Tiny Bronco
Mop
[All art is credited to their original artists]
Fearsome looking, aren’t they? In reality, Tiny Bronco and Mop are about the size of…your average mop. These lindworm dragons, though small, are pretty long in length, and when stretched out, they are around the height of just a bit below 6ft. Nevertheless, their body size is about the width of a mop handle, giving them the appearance of a very long lizard. Both dragons have no wings, and possess only two legs, a strange combination between lizard and snake. Both can fly, and rather than using wings, slithers through the air, levitating.
First, there’s Tiny Bronco, affectionately called Bronco for short. Bronco is ironically shaggier than Mop, having a mane that spans along his entire length, and a furry tuff at the end of his tail. Bronco’s scales are a dark blue with a lighter underbelly. Atop his head, two magnificent stag-like horns or clear blue crystal adorn his head.
Next is Mop, curiously enough, not a bit mop-like compared to her kin. Mop has a smooth, scale-less white body with yellow markings running along and around her body. Instead of a tuff of fur at the end of her tail, the end of Mop’s tail is similar to a flipper. On top of her head are two long horns, slightly curved.
An ability that only works in an enclosed space with walls. In preparation for Pinball, Mop and Bronco both curl up in front of Cid, turning into balls about the size of a basketball. Immediately following that, both Mop and Bronco would start spinning at high speed, creating friction that cackles like electricity. As soon as they have completely warmed up, Cid smacks his spear into them one by one, like batting a baseball, sending them flying towards the enemy. Upon contact with any solid surface [target, wall, crates, etc.] they would continue to bounce from one surface to another, like rubber electric balls at high speed. Any target struck by Bronco or Mop would experience a hit similar to being smacked by a baseball bat at full force in addition to a numbing shock that lasts for merely a few seconds upon contact. Bronco and Mop would continue to bounce around for the duration of the post and the next.
Strength:
Weak
Uses
Once every four posts. Two post duration.
Destructive Trio
In Destructive Duo, both Mop and Bronco would wrap themselves around Cid’s spear so they’re secured tightly onto the length of the rod with their heads near the blades of the Venus Gospel. Taking one post to charge up, an orange light would begin to glow in Mop and Bronco’s jaws. As soon as the second post comes up, the two would unleash two thick orange beams that can cause severe burning on live targets and easily rip apart any moderate sized inanimate objects [boxes, walls of small buildings] and most specifically, shields of all kinds except shell aura and magical shields designed to block against this specific kind of light ray. The orange beams extends up to eight feet in addition to the almost six feet of the spear and can be controlled by how Cid directs his spears. Think of it as an extension to his spear’s deadly blades. This extension lasts two turns and can be controlled by Cid and his minions to grow or shrink. Similarly, Mop and Bronco can combine their beams to create one big ball of orange energy that Cid can sling at the enemy. The ball is seven feet in diameter and can be slung as far as Cid and swing his spear. It moves slowly however, and explodes into hundreds of smaller balls of energy upon contact that causes around the same damage as being struck by Cid’s Scattering Bombs. Only one ball of energy can be created at a time. Both the beams and the ball cannot be performed in the same post.
Strength:
Moderate
Uses:
Three post cool down.
Elemental Weakness:
Ice
Character RelationshipsShera
Cid’s other object of affection. Once worked for him as an employee. Current Status: Believed to be deceased.
Leon, Yuffie, Aerith
Cid’s friends who are also in some sense, his ‘adopted’ children. After the fall of Radiant Garden, it was Cid who rescued the three kids and raised them in Traverse Town. After coming back home, the four and Merlin created the Radiant Garden Restoration Committee, which’s sole purpose is to restore their world to its former beauty and glory. Current Status: Alive and well.
Merlin
Cid’s co-worker. The two don’t get along personally, but work-wise…well, they don’t get along in that field either. However, the two’s job are similar and often they find themselves working together. Not to mention Cid’sbummingworking over at Merlin’s house most of the time. Mooching all his tea
His StoryCid was born and raised in the world of Radiant Garden, later known as Hollow Bastion. As a child and later a teen, he found a passion in machinery, and a newly discovered technology, the gummi ship. Cid spent his childhood learning about the fascinating vehicle and yearned to travel in the gummi ship, to be the first man out in space. As expected, as he grew older, he became an engineer, fiddling with gummi machinery on the side. There were stories of other worlds out there, disconnected from Radiant Garden and its inhabitants. Fascinated—and slightly obsessed—Cid worked and toiled towards building a ship capable of traveling to other worlds. It was his ultimate goal, to be the first man in space. Little did he know that there was already a tiny king zipping across the universe, soon to land in his peacefully isolated world, bringing with him devastating news. But that was a story saved for another day…
Notoriously short tempered, it’s natural that Cid often gets into arguments with his customers. Trouble and tension were expected, but love? It was strange how life treats the mechanic. Not that he would ever admit it. His squall like temper brought to his shop front a lovely young face. Her name was Shera, a scientist who once worked in Ansem the Wise's castle. The two's personality clashed [or rather, his clashed with hers and hers just silently bared it]. Now Cid has to share his love for both the gummi ship and Shera. Not that he minded. Cid had a big heart, big enough for both Shera and gummi ships, and still have room left over to pretend he held absolutely no feelings for her aside as a rude employer.
All good things must come to an end though. He almost made it, his dream was within reach. But the woman he had employed, the worrywart of a woman he secretly harbored feelings shattered his goal. Cid had picked up the stone himself and threw it right at the proverbial window. Everything was splintered and not even Cid's knack for super glue could piece everything back together. He could have killed her if he did not personally allow his passion to crash down around him. One way or another, Cid was in ruins. And so was Shera.
And then, literally, everything came crashing down. On Radiant Garden’s last day, the sky was just as bright, the people just as friendly. There was not a single sign of disturbance. Then it all caved in, a sick twist of events. Cid was belligerently working on a gummi ship [having not seen Shera for a week after the incident he quickly recovered and started up on a new project, determined to do it without the woman's motherly nit picking] when he heard screams coming from outside his shop. The man immediately dropped his tools and ran outside to find a scene straight out of his nightmare. There were black…things crawling along the floor, jiggling in the shadows, pools of dark spots, like a plague, a contagious epidemic. And the people of Radiant Garden were being targeted. He grabbed his flimsy spear and tried the best to exterminate the strange shadows, desperately trying to get to Shera’s place. However, he found that it was useless. People around him were falling, and in their place, the same thing that had killed them. Narrowly avoiding getting struck down, Cid ran back to his shop. It was all he could do to restrain himself and his panic. Shera was still out there, and there was nothing he could do.
There was no way to get out of the shop either since it was surrounded by a swarming mass of heartless, blocking his escape. Distraught, Cid tore through his shop, trying to find some mean of escape. He didn’t want to die. Not yet.
Soon, Cid realized that he could escape with one of the gummi ships he had in his hanger [ironically the very same one he had tested a week ago] which was located in the back of his shop, and though it pained him to leave Shera behind he got ready to leave. Returning to the front to grab some supplies Cid found three kids hiding behind his counter: Leon, Yuffie, and Aerith. Without a second thought, the burly pilot took the three kids with him, leaving behind the supplies. It was going to be a tight fit, but he would make sure that they all survive. It was the least he could do for Radiant Garden. It would never amend for his guilt of leaving behind Shera though.
It didn’t take long before Cid landed in Traverse Town, a place for those who had lost their home to the darkness. After getting situated, Cid started up a shop, selling supplies to the refugees, and helping people settle in. He had long given up his dreams for space traveling and his ambitious means. Grief stricken, Cid saw nothing left for him in that business. He would sell supplies for the rest of his life.
However, after spending many years in Traverse Town, a young boy came into his shop one day. He was just like anyone else. Lost and alone, searching for someone. Like anyone else in Traverse Town, Cid doubted that the boy could ever find his friends. Nevertheless, he gave the boy something to eat, exchanged names, gave him false encouragements, and offered up a place to stay when the boy gives up.
Little did Cid know that Sora was about to change his life.
After learning from Leon, Yuffie, and Aerith, that the boy he fed wielded the legendary ‘Keyblade’, Cid once again picked up his mechanic tools, this time offering the young man a gummi ship instead of a place to stay.
Cid later gave up his job in the store, and went back to following his dreams and selling gummi parts again. The guilt lifted slightly as he once again found the fire inside, but there was no way to atone. Unless…
After Sora locked up the worlds, Cid moved back to Hollow Bastion with Leon and the others. There they started up the Hollow Bastion Restoration Committee, where Cid tossed himself into his work, hoping to rid himself of the guilt of leaving Shera behind through rebuilding the Garden to its former glory. Just the way Shera liked it. Cid worked as the man behind the scene, working the machinery and defense system of Hollow Bastion, and from time to time helping with laborious work. He operates a giant computer from Merlin’s house, and often squabbles with the magician, who had joined forces with the natives.
There were often obstacles in the team’s way. Heartless that refuse to remove themselves, ruined houses and buildings to rebuild, and countless other challenges that stood in the Committee’s way. Without Sora on their side, everything seemed just a bit harder. But they pushed on, hoping that their friend was well and off somewhere relaxing. The young boy certainly needed the vacation, after saving all the worlds with just his two buddies. Little did they know that Sora was facing a whole new set of challenges, which ultimately lead to himself being completely erased from the memories of the Committee. Sure, every time Cid find himself face to face with a young brunet boy, he was reminded of a certain someone. Courageous to a fault, benevolent, slightly annoying, prone to sticking his nose in others business. Yet he could never pin a finger on just who that is. The boy was important…but if he was important, why could Cid not remember him?
Then, just as suddenly as Sora was gone from their minds, he was back again. Leon suspected that the boy would be back soon, having bounced back into their memory all at the same time—it couldn’t have been a coincidence. Sure enough, Sora soon showed up again on their doorstep. The boy, donned in new clothing and as heroic as ever, was soon added into their ranks as an honorary member. Helping the Cid and the Committee through a crisis similar to the one that had brought Radiant Garden to its demise, Cid, HBRC, and Sora defeated the heartless swarms, putting Hollow Bastion back at rest. While all this was happening, Cid and the others also discovered Ansem’s secret lab, answering questions and creating more mysteries. This catapulted Cid and the crew into another set of conflicts concerning the computer in Ansem’s lab and a computer program named Tron.
Soon after, to celebrate their successes in rebuilding their world—though they still have miles and miles to go before it could be on par with the old Garden—the committee once again renamed their world, this time restoring its original name under a shower of bright sparkling lights. Radiant Garden.
