Audition post:
It had been such a tiring day for the blonde teen. This world to world search was not doing him any good at all. He barely ate, hardly ever sleeps, Roxas life is not as easy as it use to be. Atop the station tower, the new ‘usual spot’ for him, he sat there motionless, the sea-salt ice cream slowly melting. It was hanging loosely from his right hand, as his eyes glazed stared at the beaming red sun in the distance. A scene played out in his mind. "Do you know why the sun looks red as it sinks below the horizon?" the red haired man asked. “No”, Roxas replied in an uncaring manner "It’s because among the countless colors comprising light, red travels the greatest distance.” The blonde haired kid let out a little chuckle as a smile spread across his face. “Now your just showing off” he replied in a joking fashion. The two carried on the laughter before Roxas finally came to his senses once more.
That flashback had been cruel, almost as if his own mind was torturing him to feel this despair, this sense of longing for his best friend. “Axel…” the blonde haired kid murmured. Since he had somehow survived the joining with Sora, Roxas felt as if there was some higher purpose for him in this life. What Namine had said to him about the pair of them ‘were not meant to exist’ seemed like such lies and deceit now. However another event occurred which pushed him to this theory even more. One of the four warriors working for ‘Her’ had attacked Sora. For some unknown reason as Sora succumbed to the warrior and was absorbed into his being, Roxas had awoken in the World That Never Was.
So his mind wandered yet again to all that business of how he wandered around looking for means to destroy these warriors. Deeper and deeper he delved into his memory banks, #13 had a habit of doing this now for he couldn’t quite find definite reasons for why these things were happening. Suddenly the sky blue ice cream fell of its stick and slapped the stone beneath it hard, startling Roxas to the point of shouting. Soon realising the source of the noise, he sighed deeply and was rather embarrassed at him self. A slight tint of red even appeared on his cheeks. Deciding to do something that could keep his mind off things, he wandered into town.
As he walked a lot of familiar memories came back, however fake they were. That favour he owed to DiZ in which he was going to pay for his actions. Nowadays Roxas was so angry, but what was worse he had no one to speak to about it. All his ‘friends’ in Twilight Town had no memory of him, Namine had disappeared off the face of the earth as well as Axel. “Axel…” he thought to himself. Self-hate crept into his heart once more. The azure eyes narrowed as if seeing something disgusting, directly where he was stood he let out a loud grunting noise. “Stop feeling sorry for yourself and go and find them!! he scolded to himself in his mind. Breaking into a brisk walk he was going to have another look at the tunnels to see if Axel was around, he knew he wouldn’t be. Taking the quickest route through the Sandlot the usual motley crew of Seifer, Rai and Fuu were present. “What do you want?” Seifer demanded. Roxas, who knew Seifer quite well would say nothing to him and ignore his comments. For the blonde haired kid knew, Seifer did not know him and was being an ass…per usual. As he walked away he heard Rai mutter something but decided not to turn around.
“What the hell am I doing?” he asked himself. “I know he’s not going to be in there…no one will be in there” he said aloud examining the entrance to the sub-tunnels. Letting out another deep, depressing sigh he carried on into the darkness. Once inside the lighting was dim, yet enough to be comfortable in your own safety…not that Roxas cared anymore. Once in side he heard something. His stomach fluttered in excitement to think that he had finally found his best friend, he had finally found Axel. This feeling would be replaced by a much duller form of happiness. Hayner and Pence were standing in the middle of the square as they stood bickering about some munny they had lost down here.
Deciding to be a nice person and attempting to cool down the anger inside, he asked with a calm and slightly concerned tone. “Looking for something?”. The two boys looked as if they had seen a ghost. Roxas had obviously startled them. “You scared us…” Pence mentioned in a slightly embarrassed voice “But yea, we’ve lost some munny and we need to go to the beach”. “How predictable…” the blonde haired kid thought. With a quick smile he looked at Hayner, before saying “I’ll help you look…”. It was nice to spend time with someone he knew, the heart breaking thing is that the two boys in front of him were not the same people as he knew previously in the virtual Twilight Town. However his task at hand was to find Axel, but this little activity shouldn’t have took a large amount of time. And so Roxas left with the two boys to find their lost munny.
It had only been a couple of minutes with the time that he spent with Hayner and Pence that he was beginning to feel like his old self again. Not this dark, moody teenager with problems he was nowdays. "So Roxas, haven't seen you around here before, have you just moved here?" Hayner asked. Slightly caught off guard, the blonde haired kid remained silent for a couple of seconds. Only when Pence looked over at him and stared that he realized what had been said. "Well, uh yea. I used to live near the beach and well...just wanted a change of sceneray heh heh" he replied nervously. Hayner didn't look convinced but seemed to shrug it off his shoulders anyway.
Walking a few steps further they turned a corner to find their way impeded by a group of 'white jump suit freaks' as Hayner so boldly stated upon laying his eyes on them. Roxas was stunned. The last time he had fought a Nobody was in the mansion just before he had joined with Sora, this was a very strange moment. Questions flooded his mind one after another. "Why are they here? Are they after me? Is the Organization around? What do they want? Axel?". A figure with a similar frame approached from behind the non-existent beings, Assassins to be exact.. Donning the black cloak of Organization XIII the figure didn't speak but simply allowed the darkness to swallow them and whisk them off somewhere else, leading the three boys alone in the underpass. Roxas shouted at the portal as it faded away "Axel!" in which this startled Hayner and Pence...who seemed to want to run.
"You know that creep?" Hayner asked. Lowering his head, Roxas muttured the words "I think so..." in response. It looked like Axel, and they were definetly his designated Nobody servants. "Why where you here..." he thought to himself. Pence and Hayner looked perplexed and confused, as Roxas was no longer responding to anything anymore the two slowly backed off. The blonde teen surveyed the floor as if mesmerized by its dull color. "So...he's alive" Roxas muttured to himself, who was now alone in the passageway. Unexpectedly a wild smile was now spread across his face. "He's alive!" he shouted cheeringly. Now this was the news he needed...however he couldn't understand why he had decided to show himself to Roxas, but he didn't care either. Now with a cheery stride inboard, the blonde teen headed for the exit with new hope in his heart.
