I don't want to be in a team without Heroic Bilby anymore.

Yup, that's how I define awesome all right. Just wait a few years until my "The Dictionary According to Bilby" hits libraries across the globe.

In said dictionary, under the word 'Awesome' shall be a picture of Akito. And maybe Jack Sparrow.
Hah, a team of Heroic Australian Animal? Ptf, what kind of dork would indulge in that.

KYON! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!
Stop messing around with four-eyes here and help me catch Mikuru to drag her here! I have a new costume for her!

Mikuru as someone's costume who is in turn forced to wear a costume AS Mikuru, who is their costume.

We have Saint Maarten, where kids carry lampions and go past the doors to sing a song and receive candy. I much prefer that to All Hallow Eve's "TRICK OR TREAT" and costume mentality.
Although for once I'd like my mind to be blown by originality.

Well... I dunno! Nothing ever happens here! Everyone here is a Kyon. Dully boring, apathetic, careful not to stand out too much... Okay, they're a bit more like YEAH but they're still pretty boring.
Hell, they don't even decorate their lampions lately! I remember when I was a kid, we used to custom make them - now they're all generically store-bought, and they sing the same old sings every time.
I want someone to stand out! Be unique! Wear a costume, have a spooky lampion, sing a raving mad new song. Do something be to special. But everyone in this country's deadly afraid to stand up and be known.

. . .
Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu (The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi) which jolted through the anime and manga community with such force that many learned and mass performed the closing theme dance, that Haruhiism religions sprang up all about the internets and that has many yearning for a Season 2...
The anime of 2006, with mad fans crazy about it everywhere or people that just absolutely loathe Haruhi for being an extortionating, self-centered egoist...
And you say you haven't "stumbled on it"?
One does not stumble upon great anime. One comes across it, or lives in a rock in regards to popular anime developments.
