^That was a good funny, very clever Gemini.
What college and in the nation or the college? Are you in the James Scholar Program? Or some honors program? Unless you're at MIT or Julliard maybe you should just relax. ;D

I was reading this and read my name and had a double take. I was like "did I post in my sleep or something!?" Anyway, I gotta lose some fat this year. And not be so much of an ass hole.

Hey Medy! I play bass guitar. It's awesome. =D
I didn't make any resolutions this year... Maybe I should.
I resolve not to kill my new painting teacher this year, no matter how hard it may be.
Oh, and not to get lost or die in New York on the art department trip in Feb. It'll be my first time in a big city. @_@

Bassists just seem to have more fun. ;D
Plus, it gives me an excuse to base my style around the legendary Geddy Lee, or even Les Claypool. I don't see myself picking up slap-bass any time soon though...
Any tips to offer?

Not really...as I can't slap and pick to save my life. XD I tried year ago...Wasn't pretty. x3 My biggest tip is that even as a beginner, hardly knowing even your notes, find SOMEONE to play with, be it a lone guitarist or a band. You can learn only so much on your own and/or in lessons. You learn the most and how to adapt to really play if you're in a band. ;D

Hmm, a friend of mine said she was gonna bring her guitar back from home and start learning, so I guess that could be a plan. Sounds like a plan.
Just gotta go ahead and actually buy the goddamn thing now! ;D
