Figured I'd try my hand at a little side-business here on FM and put my long-unused sprite editing skills to work before they get completely rusty.

What's available here at Sprites & Such? Glad you asked!

Sprites are most typically known as non-3D videogame graphics, such as those from KH: Chain of Memories, but in all technicality the term 'sprite' applies to any image that's built from the pixel level up. Now unfortunately I'm no artist, however I am rather good at modifying existing pixel art (particularly game sprites) and have decided to provide this skill in a meaningful and useful way to the forum. Here's a few examples of my work:

Now then, here's what I'd like to offer to the Final Mix community. In this thread I'll take requests for sprite edits based on people's RP characters, which make a nifty addition to signatures and a handy visual add-on for Character Chains among other things. As an example, here's two of my own characters (Kassom & Melana) rendered in Chrono Trigger style and enlarged for your viewing pleasure:

I'll do sprite edits from any style that's available, mind you. If someone wants theirs done in Chain of Memories style, then by golly you'll get the best darn CoM rendition of your character that I can make! However... I should mention that, since there's a decent amount of work involved, these aren't exactly free. Cheap, yes, but not free.


PRICE LIST:

• Single sprite: 3 Munny
  
• Sprite sheet [5 sprites]: 10 Munny
  
• Sprite sheet [more than 5 sprites]: +2 Munny for each additional sprite (NO ORDERS LARGER THAN 5 SPRITES)

SPRITE ANIMATIONS: (Extra; see this post for details)

• 2 munny for action pose GIF
  
• 5 munny for action poses GIF, or sig sized/styled GIF
  
• 10 munny for extravaganza GIF
  
• +2 munny if you want the animation to be added into an existing sig image

All things considered, this really isn't asking a lot. Even for brand new members these prices are pocket change, and in return you get some nifty graphics to represent your character. How sweet is that, eh?

When requesting sprites, please provide the following:

*Brief Visual Description of Character:
Link to Character Profile:
Sprite Style: (choose from one of the above, or any game with sprites at The Spriter's Resource)
*Number of Sprites: (maximum for a single order is 10 5)
*Description of Sprite Pose(s): (Standing, running, jumping, attacking; the more specific and detailed you are, the more likely your sprites will come out looking the way you want. For "action poses", please provide an example image if possible)



*[Nascent retains the right to decline orders for the following reasons: character appearance is too complicated/detailed to effectively sprite edit, an excessive number of sprites is requested, or the character's pose simply isn't possible to sprite at his skill level.]

You can seriously do anything with the sprites? Even a person in a panda suit? What about a guy wearing a bird mask? Girl with a hand puppet? If you can do that, I want a sprite for all of my crazy characters! XD

Brief Visual Description of Character: Ming-Hui wears a panda suit like the person in the picture. She has black bangs, brown eyes, is 5ft tall, and slightly pudgy. That's all. XD

Description: Very simple short spiky brown hair, tall and very muscular body build, wears a black suit like the Turks from FF7.

Orders received and currently being worked on. Northie, I'll do my best to edit together a CoM mugshot, but I can't make any guarantees. Just stylistically, those are a lot closer to the realm of traditional art than anything I've edited before, but we'll see. And Akuma, I might have some difficulty finding SVC Chaos sprites, since not many sprite rips exist for PS2 & Xbox games. Still, I'll do the best I can to satisfy both of your orders!

Sorry Northie... the mugshot proved to be a bit beyond my talents. I gave it my best shot, but... it just looked horrible, and I didn't want to hand you second-class work.

Still, if you want to draw a CoM style mugshot for her, I'll gladly colorize it and attempt to turn it into a sprite at no extra charge. It's the least I can do for ya!

Can I help? I can make animated GIFs with sprite sheets you (Nascent) make people, which'd get people more interested in buying the more expensive sheet. Your call in that regard.

Brief Visual Description of Character: Almost six feet, female, normal build (i.e. nothing special), and in blue gear. (The shirt's bottom is seperated a bit like the way a stereotypical pirate's is, with two flaps to the side.)

You know those scenes in anime and movies and whatnot where the character does that pointing straight into the air/audience thing? That's exactly what I'm hoping for! Standing at an angle away from audience, but front of body is visible. Looking at audience a preference, but not a requirement. All I ask is that it doesn't look like she's gonna go disco, that the multiple sprites make up an animation, (I hope to make it into a GIF,) and that the pointing motion is very dramatic, so as to get a good feel for the zany nature of the character.

Actually, that would be a pretty handy addition to the Store, particularly since I haven't quite learned how to assemble animations in Photoshop yet. Darn you, CS3! Why'd you have to take away my ImageReady?! *shakes fist at Adobe*

Er, heh. At any rate, since I don't expect anyone to work for free let me know what you'd like to charge for animation work and I'll tag it onto the main price list. I'll get to work on your sprites ASAP.

I'm being talked about? ...should I be scared?

Prices... hmm... I'm thinking 2 munny for the simple animations (5 sprites-ish, one pose, and loops), 5 munny for the longer and more detailed things, and 10 for the WHOLE SHE-BANG kind of thing, like where you see two sprites go DBZ on each other in a huge bonanza thing.

Also, if you have a sig with space on it or something, I can add the animation to it.

To make it copy/paste able:

• 2 munny for action pose GIF
  
• 5 munny for action poses GIF, or sig sized/styled GIF
  
• 10 munny for extravaganza GIF
  
• +2 munny if you want the animation to be put on your sig

Hmm... I'm not sure we can charge extra if people want to use the GIF in their sig... or did you mean it would be customized for their sig in some way?

Nono, I mean I'd take their current sig image/banner/thing and add the animation to it. In it. Animation in sig image.

For example, let's say you've got a Mickey Mouse banner, with Mickey off to the right and text in the middle, and maybe some space to the left. I could take the image and add the sprite animation to the left in the image, like the character leaning against the wall of the sig, swinging his feet or something.

No, I'm not gonna give you the evil eye if you don't pay sig tax! (Nonexistant) I can combing the image and animation, that's all. Of course, some people who know how to do that already wouldn't have to bother with the +2.
