Audition post (400 words):

"No one would miss me." Then there was nothing. No light, no darkness. Just emptyness. Sure he had been free a few times perhaps, but other than that, he just sorta floated around, as if he didn't exist. Then again, maybe he didn't anymore. Maybe he never did. A voice sounded out, a voice he recognized. Was it Sora's? It sure sounded like it.

"You make a good other." the voice said. Then there was a bright light, that shown through the emptyness, and illuminated Roxas. Then everything went white, he couldn't see.

When Roxas opened his eyes, he was back in Twilight Town, his three friends frozen in place. Roxas started toward them, but then stopped. Was this another one of DiZ's tricks? What happened next answered that. They began to move, and talk. And sure enough, Hayner looked at him, and motioned to his friends. They looked at him too.

"Hayner, Pence, Olette. Boy am I glad to see you guys." Roxas walked toward the three but stopped when Olette pointed at him.

"We don't know you, but that outfit you're wearing, we know it. The last guy we saw wearing that took Kairi away."

Axel. Roxas remembered that.

"My name's Roxas. That guy you mentioned, his name was Axel. He was my friend. And so were you."

Hayner laughed, and made a comment saying that the three of them were never friends with him.

"But you were, we spent all summer together and..." of course they would think that. He wasn't friends with the real them, he was friends with fakes. Pieces of data that looked and acted like them.

Just then Heartless appeared. Olette screamed, and Pence and Hayner took battle stances. A Heartless lept at Hayner. Roxas destroyed it using the Kingdom Key.

"Leave my friends alone!" Roxas then proceeded to wipe out any and all Heartless that appeared. When the threat was gone, Hayner relaxed and smiled.

"Guess we owe ya one. We didn't realize you and Sora were tight."

"What do you mean?" Roxas replied.

"That weapon. Sora had one just like it."

Roxas looked down, and he frowned. "In a way... I guess I am Sora. He's my other."

When Roxas saw the confused looks on their faces, he told them about the Heartless, about Nobodies, about himself, and why he called them his friends. Pence when it came to that part nodded and said he understood.

"So while Sora was recuperating, you were placed inside a digital version of this town. Makes sense."

Just then Saïx appeared. "Roxas, the Superior has been looking for you. It's time to rebuild Kingdom Hearts."

"Get a different lackey. I won't do it. I refuse."

Saïx then went on about how Roxas owed the Organization, and then said things that Roxas felt like Saïx was saying to confuse him, or manipulate him, or both.

"I don't like being manipulated. And I don't like being confused."

Saïx pulled out his weapon. "If you won't listen to reason, then I'll just have to beat it into you." Saïx then charged at Roxas' three friends.

"No!" Roxas jumped at Saïx, slashing with two keyblades, one being Oathkeeper, the other Oblivion. "You want my friends, you're going to have to go through me."

"What's this? Last time I saw you, you didn't care about anything." Saïx said as he jumped back when Roxas slashed at him.

"Back then I didn't have friends to fight for. And I was like that back when Sora and I were going to have to fuse together. But since I don't have to be with him now, and since you're putting my friends in danger, I'm going to get mad. I'm going to fight. So bring it on." Roxas then charged at Saïx, who vanished. Roxas stopped, and turned to his friends.

"I'm sorry for all of that." Roxas said, frowning.

"Sokay." Hayner replied grinning. "Gotta say, that was pretty cool though."

Roxas smiled. "I gotta go. If I stay, you'll be in danger. Plus I have some things I need to find out. But I'll be back soon. And then who knows, maybe we could hang out." Roxas smiled again and gave the three a thumbs up. He then began to vanish into the darkness.

"See ya around."

It has..potential. There were moments where I heard Roxas in my head...then not at all for the rest. Roxas is just a selfish and arrogant version of Sora who has quite the temper and is quite the handful. I can't see him acting like that with the real versions of his fake friends. Sure, I could see him watching from afar and grumbling, but coming up to them and calling them his friends and..Meh. I guess I just can't see the whole situation actually happening, which is a big part of the audition.

Buut...like I said, there was a glimmer in there and some potential..so take more time and write another. This one seemed a little rushed as well, as if trying to cover too much at once. Pick a more specified moment in time that will bring up the most out of Roxas.

Gah. Iris stole what I had to say.

Truth to be told, I saw a lot of potential at the beginning and at the end. However you seem to have this problem with springing people up out of nowhere. .__. I really dislike the random Saix popping up part. Not to mention the 'eliminate heartless' part was highly cliche. And I think around the "Leave my friends alone!" part, I kinda just went...ugh. It sounded more like something that Sora would say. Roxas seemed more like an anti-hero to me and while he would have done everything to protect his friends no doubt, I still think he would have said something different.

And, like Iris said, it's very rushed. DX

So just...around the beginning and the end, I saw some glimpse of Roxas. Other than that, the other parts were a bit flat.

Keep trying though.
