In all honesty, Rikku just needed time to herself. Lately, things had been exceedingly stressful on the blonde-haired teenager, and that was definitely not how she liked things. She, Yuna, and Paine were currently staying at this little inn within Traverse Town, not knowing exactly what to do with themselves. They wanted to find treasure, that was a give-in, but how and where to look was not as easy to figure out. It seemed as if the trio had been in somewhat of a rut lately, and Rikku was not liking it one bit. Although she tried to look to the bright side each time either Yuna or Paine brought up their predicament, the other two dismissed her outlooks as 'childish' or 'immature.' Well, that was mostly Paine, anyways.
After their little run-in with Malificent and everybody else they met in the Hollow Bastion, the trio had no idea where to start their next journey. And, if anybody knew Rikku, adventure was something that excited her to no end! However, without it, she thought life was dull and boring, outlooks on life that should never be taken by a sixteen-year-old! Adults should feel this way when they have fully experienced adventures and whatnot. But not people as young as she was!
Yuna and Paine were still asleep in their beds when Rikku woke up. The sun shined brightly through the window, and she realized that it was probably actually somewhat early. Yawning quite a bit before being able to stand up completely, Rikku threw her long, blonde hair up into the messy arrangement it usually took, sliding her large, blue headband in place as she looked at herself in the mirror. Slipping into her trademark short-shorts, Rikku pulled on an aqua-colored sweater that fit her snug, as the weather seemed somewhat colder out, especially since it was still the morning. Putting on her usual blue and white boots, Rikku silently made her way out of the inn and started to make her way through the streets of Traverse Town.
Reaching one street, Rikku spotted a variety of vendors selling a myriad of things. A fruitstand catching her eye, she jumped up excitedly and quickly made her way over to it. After all, Rikku did love her fruits. The stand was being run by a teenaged boy with brown shaggy hair, and Rikku could not help but notice how attractive he was. She was tempted to tell him of his cuteness, but she realized that maybe throwing something so forward at the boy this early was not a good idea. Instead, she stuck with just requesting for a sliced up mango. She loved that fruit!
Though finding a fruit she loved was hardly an adventure, Rikku did feel happy, as she did most of the time. Taking a bite out of her purchase, she exclaimed to the guy, "Seriously, this mango is so good! I just love it when fruit is really fresh, you know?" Continuing to scarf down what was left of the mango, Rikku watched as the boy simply stared at her, blinking confusedly. Obviously, he was not really awake and probably missed everything she said, like any other teenager would do at this hour. Shrugging, Rikku turned around and decided to head back to the inn. Because, really, she was not, in any way, just like any other teenager.
