Suijin
Suijin is a large world, but only a small part of it is land. There is an island, which is surrounded by a vast ocean. Upon the island are countless lakes, rivers, ponds, and other bodies of water. The sun is always hidden behind a blanket of thick rain clouds. The weather is almost always rainy, or, in the colder months, snowy. A world with so little land and so much water has resulted in an entire town of water-using mages. It is in this town, named Kumari, that Chloe lived most of her life.
There is a darker town in the world of Suijin. It goes by the name of Ryowo. Those who chose to live in this town use spells of darkness and relish in all that is considered evil. It is believed that their dark practices were inspired by the near total lack of direct sunlight; the "darkness" Suijin possesses.

Appearance
Physical Features
Chloe appears quite delicate; her build is thin, and her skin is fair. Her height is a mere 5 feet, her weight 85 pounds. She has soft, feminine curves, and may be considered quite pretty. Chloe leads a fairly active life, but she doesn’t have much more than a mildly athletic musculature.
Facial Features
Chin length, straight black hair frames her face. It has several layers, and a choppy look. Her sapphire blue eyes are almond shaped, and are sometimes hidden behind her bangs. Plain, silver rings are worn on her pierced ears. Chloe has a hard time hiding her feelings, so her face gives away her nearly every emotion.
Clothing
As most, Chloe's clothing choice varies with her mood. However, her usual attire includes a pair of dark blue jeans, and a plain long-sleeved shirt. Her favorite color is green, so her shirt is usually a dark green. Chloe always dons her favorite pair of black converse.
Personality
Resolve
Chloe searches for a cure to her narcolepsy, and seeks to discover how she was cursed with it to begin with. To achieve this, Chloe is willing to use any method she can: evil or not.
Chloe is also trying to solve the mystery of the dark creatures which have attacked her since she left her home.
Pursuit
Chloe’s life was, in a way, destroyed by her narcolepsy. She is convinced it is a dark and evil monster inside her, and she hopes to eliminate it however she can. By curing herself of narcolepsy she can return to her home and continue the life she was forced to abandon.
As for the creatures: Chloe has encountered these creatures [heartless, of course], and has no clue what they are or why they attack her. She is driven by nothing other than curiosity and confusion.
Fears
In a way Chloe fears her narcolepsy; it causes a great deal of problems for her. She worries that one day she’ll put herself into a dangerous situation, and suddenly she’ll have an episode and lose control. Too many bad situations can be caused by this to not worry. Narcolepsy also scares her because she does not understand it. She is sometimes convinced it is a demon inside her, taunting her existence; punishing her for some wrong.
Hopes
Chloe hopes to be cured of narcolepsy, after discovering the truth behind it. After this, she dreams to return home and lead a normal, average life.
Hobbies
Water is a natural love to Chloe, as she was raised in a world filled with it. She adores swimming, boating, and anything else involving water. Another hobby of hers is photography. Chloe prides herself in her pictures; she carries a camera and photo album with her at all times. In order to take many photos [especially of oceanic and other aqua related views], she travels constantly. It has become another love of hers.
Public Personality/Private Personality
Chloe is a quiet person. She's usually easy to get along with; there doesn't seem to be many people that bother her. Whether good or evil, Chloe will try to understand anyone she meets. She is not stubborn at all, though she can sometimes give up far too easily. Arguing isn’t a strong point of hers – Chloe will seek to find some sort of common ground, or compromise. This gives her a bit of a submission personality trait.
Chloe doesn't hide her emotions or opinions; she will voice them adamantly when she feels the need to. Though people rarely affect her negatively, Chloe feels very strongly on subjects such as love and trust. Because she doesn't restrain from voicing these things, Chloe can sometimes be dragged into unpleasant situations.

Chloe will freeze particles of water from the air into needles of ice, which she will then propel at an enemy. It can cover a large area and is hard to dodge but it is not very strong or damaging.
Weapon of Ice
Chloe can create an assortment of weapons by freezing water to her sword hilt. This is limited by size - a gallon or two of water at the most.
Ice Slide
By freezing moisture on the ground, Chloe can create a large patch of slippery ice. This is hard to see and easy to slip on. It is good for a speedy escape or a clever trap.

History
Chloe was born in the world Suijin. It was a small island country, surrounded by a vast ocean. All who lived in Suijin learned water magick at a young age. The spells were used in daily life. To fish, to travel, even to fight. Chloe was no exception.
Chloe always held a deep fascination with water. She loved to swim, she loved the beach, and she loved rain. Her other love was photography. So she combined the two, photographing everything involving water. Chloe even carried an album with her, containing all the photographs she had taken.
When she turned ten, Chloe developed Narcolepsy. She had horrible insomnia, and couldn't help but fall asleep often during the day. Chloe had to avoid situations that would endanger her life because of it. She could no longer swim. "Lazy" was the word that everyone began to describe her as. During her classes, Chloe would fall asleep and was punished.
One day, as Chloe was exploring in her free time, she came across Ryowo. She entered the bizarre town, and was quickly greeted by what appeared to be kind people. She talked with some people her own age, opening up to her new friends quickly. Before long, she had explained her narcolepsy and the problems it caused.
The teens of Ryowo told Chloe exactly what they thought her narcolepsy was. They told her it was a demon, living inside her. It was living darkness, surviving off her pain. As to why she had recieved this "demon," they explained that she must have done something to anger the demon.
When she returned home, Chloe was quite shaken. She wasn't sure what to think. Was there really a demon inside her? If so, what could she do about it? These questions bothered her for months.
A few weeks after her seventeenth birthday, Chloe began looking for spells that would take her to a distant land. She could not find any answers in her own home, so Chloe was going to find a new place. She found only one spell that sounded reasonably probable, and used it. It worked, somehow, and Chloe left her world behind.
Chloe awoke in a foreign world, one by the name of Traverse Town. She soon learned that she could travel from world to world via gummi ship. Though she knew how dangerous it was to drive a gummi ship with narcolepsy, Chloe discovered a new life, where she could travel to take pictures of every world. Where this path would take her, she didn't know.
As she wandered the worlds, Chloe slowly realized that she was wasting her life. Sure, it was exciting, but she missed her home and her family. Her goal became to return home. However, the teen knew she could not without first ridding herself of narcolepsy. The thing she had begun to think of as a demon. But how to do so, she did not know...

Chloe has narcolepsy, a neurological condition that causes many problems involving sleep. The most notable result of narcolepsy is that a narcoleptic may fall asleep randomly without warning at any time of the day. Usually it is impossible to resist these “naps.” There are four other symtoms of narcolepsy which don’t occur in every narcoleptic, though they all happen to Chloe occasionally. These are cataplexy, sleep paralysis, hypnagogic hallucinations, and automatic behavior.
Cataplexy is a loss of muscle control. The strength of this varies – sometimes it will be minor, which will hinder the narcoleptic’s ability to speak clearly or move quickly. When in a stronger degree this may cause complete collapse, as if the person has fainted. Cataplexy is often triggered by sudden, intense emotions ranging from rage to excitement. The length also varies; the episode may last a few seconds or several minutes.
Sleep paralysis causes the narcoleptic to be unable to speak or move occasionally. This may be frightening to the person, but is not dangerous [unless they are driving?]. It only lasts a few seconds or minutes.
Hypnagogic hallucinations are, in a nutshell, dreams. These dreams are extremely vivid and feel very real to the narcoleptic. In most cases, these will be terrifying nightmares. They may occur while the narcoleptic is falling asleep, awakening, or is sleeping due to an episode.
Automatic behavior is perhaps the oddest symtom of narcolepsy. This causes the narcoleptic to continue with an action – talking or walking etc. – as a sleep episode occurs. The person will have no memory of what they did during their episode.
