~Appearance~

As you are heading out the door of your house, a small glimmer of light catches your eye. You turn around and see a mirror, putting you face to face with your reflection.

Physical appearance ~ : Kai is like any kind of teenage boy. He stands at the height of 5’8 with a very lanky appearance—the kind that looks like they could trip over their own two feet. He has tanned skin and brown hair, of which falls over his lilac eye and the bridge of his nose. Though the most notable feature of the boy’s face (and you may have guessed this from the mention of “eye”) Kaishou is missing one eye. Instead of a left eye, he has a bandage that wraps across the wound and around his head. The cause of this was an attack by the heartless when Kaishou was seven years old, and the result when he tried to keep the darkness away from his home. It was either that or his heart-and the boy is not ashamed of how he got it. However, because of the nature of how the wound was caused, (Nay, by darkness) it has never fully healed. So there is still a gaping hole where his eye used to be and small veins around the eye have turned purple and black. It causes him no discomfort, but it does freak out quite a few people who meet him. So he bandages it. Aside from that, he is also know for a wide grin that often takes up most of his face and his playful antics, of which will be noted later.

Clothing/Accessories ~ : Kaishou is the kind of person who will wear whatever he can carry, and whatever will fit him. Often he can be seen in a baggy pair of shorts with some kind of t-shirt and jacket. He blends into normality like this, and it suits him just as well. He can adapt. In terms of accessories, the only thing to speak of may as well be his bandage, however he does have a small cord of rope tied around his right wrist.

~Personality~

As you're walking through the door, you see many sights that influence your mood. The different feelings that suddenly wash over you are many, leaving you with a strange mix of emotions.

Behavior ~ : To be honest, Kai is a goof. He is the kind of person who has a smile for every occasion, and has no worries about totally embarrassing himself in front of people. He is outgoing, though not what you would call loud. He’s doesn’t get in your face, though has a way of worming himself into your life. He’s the kind of person that no matter whom you are, if you fall down in the street, he will run over to help you. He tries to listen to people problems and give them advice, though his isn’t always the best to follow. He can be extremely competitive when egged on, and defensive to a point of getting himself hurt. Once you’re friends with Kai, he is loyal and continues to fill the room with his energy.

However, Kaishou can also be very serious when he wants to be. When problems arise, he does his best to help people and try to make them better. He’s a huggle manic when someone is upset, and will continue to cling and comfort till they are okay. He doesn’t mind putting people in front of himself and is the kind to throw himself out to defend people he cares about.

Kai is not angered easily, but get on his bad side and you will have something to speak about. He's the kind of person who will do anything to prove himself to a respectable figure and can be easily led in the wrong direction. Though you can see that his intentions are pure through it all, even if his actions are not.

Well… it’s just that. Kai wields a long sword of which he is able to summon when in combat. It has no special features to speak of, other then the fact that it is silver, sharp and pointy. Expected, you wouldn’t want to be on the other end of it.

When he is able to come close enough to a person, Kai will often use his body to overpower a person. Using his fists and legs he will throw punches and kicks to knock his opponent around.

This is where Kai can power up for a post to throw his sword at his opponent. The sword glows white to give it more power, and it often can reach around 15-30 meters. It is possible to dodge if you can get out of the way quick enough. When it lands, Kai simply calls it back into his hand.

As you slay the last of the beasts, you put your weapon aside, and walk away, knowing your tale of bravery will be told for thousands of years to come.

There was nothing special going on when Kaishou was born into the world. When the tiny baby was born into life, Ansem the Wise still ruled over Hollow Bastion, and the people there were safe and happy. Kai spent the first years of his life like many children do. He learnt to walk and talk and did his baby things. It wasn’t until he was seven that everything would change.

The heartless took over Hollow Bastion. Kai had been at school when it happened, and when the creatures came there was chaos. Kids where scattered; screaming as their hearts where ripped out of their still living bodies. And as Kai looked around, he could see darkness creeping in over the land. So the little boy did the only thing he could. He ran as fast as he could home.

But when he arrived, there was chaos there too. People where screaming, he could hear things being broken and people were running in all directions. Kai searched for his parents, but to no avail. Had the darkness gotten to them too? He ran into his house, into his backyard. They weren’t there either. In his desperation, he grabbed a broom and began to smack at the creatures. But simple wood wasn’t going to hurt them much. They leaped on him and began to attack him. Then all he could remember was a scream, searing pain in his head and then blacking out.

When Kaishou awoke, both his eye and Hollow Bastion had gone.

Instead, he was now in Traverse Town-where his frantic mother had managed to find the boy. Only a few of the citizens had managed to escape, in ships or by luck of being taken into the darkness. It was then that Kai’s mother told the boy the news. His father hadn’t made it out of Hollow Bastion. She had been pulled onto a ship in the rush, and he had somehow been left behind. She then told him about a young woman who had managed to find Kai and get him out. But alas, she had only managed to get the boy on the ship before the heartless got her. She died too.

After that, Kai spent the next few years growing up in Traverse Town with his mother. What for what it was worth, he wasn’t bitter about what had happened to him or his world. He did train, and he hoped to one day overthrow the heartless. But he realized that when darkness seeps into your heart, you get taken also. So he made sure that he would always stay happy.

So as Kai trained, he heard rumours of a boy that had entered Traverse Town with a mysterious “keyblade”. And though Kaishou never met Sora, he began to appreciate the boy who, like him, had been torn from his home and lost those who he cared about. At that point, the boy had no wish to travel, so he continued to try and keep the numbers of heartless down on the world. And when news came that Sora had found Hollow Bastion, there was a small roar of happiness from the townspeople. There was first a small party of people who went to Hollow Bastion, and when news came back of the world being safe to enter, many people left Traverse Town. Kai and his mother were also included.

When they got back home, Kai’s mother decided to help the Hollow Bastion committee. It was then that the Kai expressed his wish to travel. For what he thought, his mother was much more understanding than he expected. She even laughed and wondered why he hadn’t asked her earlier. Although part of her didn’t want her son to leave, she knew that with the paths opened and people traveling all around now, she couldn’t really stop her son. So when he got enough munny, Kaishou was able to acquire a gummi ship, of which he uses now.

Kai stands between the sword and the staff, pondering. Then he quickly runs over to the sword and picks it up.
