Has anyone been watching it? I'm surprised no one made a thread yet. ._.
I saw a trailer for FFXIII, but it wasn't really anything new. However, FFIV was announced. It's apparently an online game...but it's for Xbox 360? I don't know what that's about.
Oh, and for fans of ICO and Shadow of the Colossus, there was a preview for the third game in that trilogy - The Last Guardian. I thought it looked amazing. (I wish I had a PS3...)
Also, PS3 had a demonstration of their newest technology. Basically it's a remote like the Wii but with a glowing orb on the top. I don't have much to say about this, but their whole selling point seemed to be "precision." It did seem to be more precise than the Wii, but you never know until you try it honestly.
Xbox had their own new idea, but there's was basically an eye toy type thing that allows you to play without a remote. It looks like an amazing idea, but it was just a little video they showed so I don't know how far along they really are with this.
So did anyone else see anything interesting during E3? I only saw a few hours of it to be honest. =/ And what do you think about everything these companies are working on?

Erm... 385/2 Days got a date stamped on it.
Kingdom Hearts DS'll be out... September 29, as I recall.
I should go look through the E3 stuff, now that you mention it... ^_^;;

Though I didn't see it personally, I did see this interesting thing called Project Natal. A sort of world simulator, if you will. It's very interesting, very realistic, and really the only thing that could make me want to avoid buying a Wii and/or a PS3. Enjoy.

Project natal isn't a world simulator, its the name of the motion-sensing/hearing/watching camera technology that the Milo thing uses to track your actions and words and for the other tech demos to tarck your movements for their "games".
I have followed E3 throughout, what with being in the business and all, and I must report(With a bit of "I saw that coming" attitude) that the Milo thing has a bit of smoke n' mirrors going on with it. Peter Molyneux strikes again with his overhype. There was a literal "man behind the curtain" at its E3 area where people could actually go in and interact with it.
The actual "completely controller-free" contr0ol style of motion-sensing and stuff that Project Natal does, however, is the real deal.
But seriously... Real games will always need buttons. XD

385/3 Days is the only new game I'll be able to get. Luckily I do have a DS, but I can't buy all of these gaming systems. xD It took me 13 years to get anything more than a Gameboy Advanced and a N64 from my parents.
So the simulation thing wasn't completely real? =/ Is that...allowed? -confused- Playing games without controllers seems futuristic, but what do you throw against the wall when you're stuck? D: Where's the good ol' button mashing? It takes all the fun out of it! Now the motion detection thing might be useful with virtual reality type things. -pictures The World from .hack-

Oh it's "real", it's just that the impression on us of what it's actually doing is exaggerated by its description and the video shown.
The camera does track your movements and the sound sensor can determine if you are speaking with a certain tone of voice. All that data is used together to make Milo react in one of many pre-determined ways that should fit the context of whatever is happening.
It's still impressive but blown out of proportion.
