Axel would be forced to ditch the returning chakrams so he himself could escape. These pillars were actually a handy form of transportation in short distances. He had used one to dodge the lasers, propelling him up about 10 feet before he came back down about six feet in front of Marluxia, in his hand was a ball of fire that he slammed into the ground. The chakrams stabbed into the ground behind him as he landed. Only a split second after the ball of fire hit the ground, a small ring of fire formed that expanded to thirty feet across, engulfing the entire area in flames and transforming the floor both Axel and Marluxia stood on into a molten rock ring. Five pillars blasted up around the circle, each about 2 meters thick and almost completely enclosing the two in the fiery arena. Axel launched himself toward Marluxia as his chakrams manifested back into his hands.
He closed the gap between the two men with surprising speed slashing at the pink haired man with his right chakram and ready to block the scythe or vines with the other as he did so.

Axel did exactly as Marluxia planned.
He had used the pillars as a mode of escape and transportation three times now; too many. Predictability and repetition means death on the battlefield. Marluxia knew Axel would use it again if pushed and that was exactly why he fired those lasers that covered the sides as well. There was a problem with being airborne, most don't dodge well mid-air; no ground to push off on. In fact, for a few moments, a person is helpless within the air. Why do you think the remaining four flower buds were floating in the air between Axel and Marluxia so suspiciously?
You got it, when Axel launched up, the flower buds fired on his vulnerable form just reaching the peak of his ascent. They fired in a square pattern (one flower bud in each corner) from below as Axel descended, each laser able to move for five seconds after firing. They would criss cross to reduce the already slim chance of evasion in mid-air.
Would Axel still be able to form the ring of flames and molten lava flooring when he hit the ground? After all, he might not be alive anymore by the time he reached the ground.

[Sorry for the horrible post, I'm in a hurry]
Axel used his chakrams to utterly destroy the four flower buds as they bolted his way. They fell back to the ground after being slashed apart. With the lasers charging at him while he was in free fall, dodging would be impossible so instead he would have to counter the lasers with his chakrams by using them as a blockade to protect his body. One laser was stopped but the other managed to slip through and hit the left side of his body. He would still fall to the ground and engulf the area in fire and lava even with the wound.

[Sorry, came down with a cold]
Marluxia clicked his tongue, he had hoped that would be the end of it. Sadly, that was not to be. When Axel descended and fire engulfed the area, Marluxia had only a split second to react. He did so by shooting out vines, two from each sleeve, from underneath his sleeves and latching onto the chandeliers. Hopefully he wouldn't be too heavy. God knows he went on a diet to get that sweet, tight body of his. Er, that and he dispersed his weight among several holdings each on their own chandelier (One vine per chandelier, since there are multiple chandeliers in Beast's Ballroom), and in doing so also increased the speed of his ascent. Still, even with his quick reaction, his feet were burnt and only by cluttering the flames with an excess of flower petals, a mass, almost solid, bulk, did he dose it.
Perhaps taking a page from Tarzan's book, Marluxia let loose all but one of the vines, accurately measured the length needed (so as not to come anywhere close to the burning field below) and descended upon Axel to take his head with the pink haired man's scythe Jungle style. Yes, the Graceful Assassin 'gracefully' swung on the vine towards Axel, his scythe held out to decapitate Axel as he would swing past.

[I’m in your base, crashing your thread! xD]
BAM!
The huge doors to the ballroom burst open as the strong stench of ozone spilled into the makeshift arena. Lightning residue crackled softly as two bare feet beat furiously against the cold, hard floor. Fists clenched, the princess’ half-lidded turquoise eyes glared drowsily about the room until finally landing on the culprits she had come to apprehend.
“This is the second time this week! Can’t you two get over it already?!” Larxene screeched while throwing her right arm outwards in frustration. (Never mind that Number XI was about to chop off the pyro’s head.) Clad in only the coat part of her normal attire, which looked hazardously thrown on, her normally slicked back hair now dangled and swayed just above her shoulders while framing her face. “Seriously! Why did you even bring him with us, Marluxia? Either get rid of him or start bandaging him up yourself after you’ve finished! If I have to deal with him one more time, I swear, I’ll amputate his head from his body myself!”
When it came to throwing fits, there wasn’t a Nobody in all the worlds that could fake it as well as her. Crossing her arms, the nymph huffed irritably as she stared down the two men. They’d be lucky if she didn’t lop both their heads off for disrupting her beauty sleep.

...And Marluxia fell flat on his face. Somehow, the Graceful Assassin fumbled his descent at Axel and fell outside the burning zone onto the hard floor. Quickly, he got back up, brushed down his tarnished clothes and stood back to his regal poise.
"He started it," Marluxia said nonchalantly and proceeded to walk away. Another one of their fights was brought to conclusion without a conclusion. He did indeed remember to give Larxene a swift pat on the buttcheeks as he walked past her; he was her boss after all, it was only natural.

Axel's attention turned to the shrieking banshee, then the color seemed to pour from his face. It was a good thing that Marluxia had also been deterred because instead of the razor sharp edge of his scythe slicing through his throat, the flat end crashed into the top of his head. His head jerked to the side from the strike but made no attempt to right itself...
Sexual frustration must not be an emotion...
And where's the fvcking wind when you need it?
