(OOC: Upon reading the description, I can't help but think I'm paired off against a variant of the Shadow Devil boss from Megaman X5... xD) "What manner of . . . ?" Magus unfinished question could hardly be heard over the roar of the winds created by the creature's formation. He guarded his eyes against the wild torrent by pulling his cape up in front of him like a shield; as all became still he lowered it and looked upon that which had taken shape. Then the warlock heard it for the first time, realizing immediately that this was not a foe to be trifled with. The very earth trembled at it's unnatural fury... and Magus, too, felt something inside himself react to this giant's alarum, like an echo within his own being. Was it possible? Could this massive juggernaut be... a Nobody?! Whether that was true or not, Magus readied himself for the worst. This was, without question, what he'd sensed coming. Then, out of the corner of his eye he spied a flash of light; looking down from his aerial outlook, he witnessed the formation of a being made of what looked to be pure light, standing alongside the immense titan. Not a moment later his magical sensitivities alerted him to yet another arrival, and he turned his head to see the manifestation of darkness appear on the scene. Light, darkness, and void... beings not only of great size, but he ventured of great power as well. It would be truly unwise to aggravate such forces as these. Magus felt a cold sweat wash over him as he beheld the Titans; somehow, deep inside, he knew conflict was inevitable. "Very well then..." He breathed in deeply, then tugged at the cuff of his right glove until it was taut. "I know not why fate has cast this lot unto me, but it matters not." Holding his right arm at length, the mage flicked his wrist. In response, a flash of crimson light appeared in his palm, quickly taking form and manifesting the Dream Reaper scythe. Leather-gloved hands gripped its Dreamstone-weave shaft, bringing the grim blade back into a ready position as he cast a stone-set gaze upon the enormous trinity. "I have faced so-called 'gods' before... perhaps three at once will make things interesting." Despite his bravado, Magus was no fool. He'd wait for the enemy to move first, rather than charge in blindly. This fight, after all, could prove to be his last... (OOC: You guys had better get in here... I don't fancy bearing the brunt of three Titan's attacks for very long, okay?)

Alexis clicked his tongue. Things were troublesome now that these behemoths had decided to come. He had come later than the others and now stood atop one of the more distant buildings in the 3rd District. He wanted to keep his distance, who said anything about this being his fight? He had no obligation to defend these people, he had no duty to defeat these monsters. Just curiosity and now that curiosity had been half way sated.
With his right hand in his pocket and his left holding tightly onto his metal suitcase, more tight than he would've normally. Was he afraid? Of course he was afraid! The size and power of these monstrosities was ridiculous. Fear was not something to be regarded with disdain, fear was what kept a man alive, what made him know what was truly precious. Relaxed a stance as he had, Alexis was at peak levels of alertness. It would be foolish to assume that the night and distance from them would hide him and make him safe.
The sorcerer would wait a while longer. He would let them make the first move and he would observe with keen interest the full extent of power these 'gods' possessed. Was this town done for? Would there be any point in protecting a city sent to hell? Alexis had thought so in the past. No more. He knew how to pick his fights better now.

Zero followed the golden flame, far behind however. By the time he made it to the third district, there were three colossal creatures standing in the way. Shit was about to get seriously fucked up. The one shined with the same golden light that had radiated from his fire so Zero made the connections between that and figured the other two must have done the same only through different mediums.
There was another man…alien…thing there. He looked kinda strange but he did seem in opposition to these goliaths. The guy seemed kinda eager to fight them. Zero wasn’t too interested. Besides, it was illogical. Two guys against three titans. Obviously, there were disadvantages, mainly on his side. Or shit…The three giants may have been the good guys and this one guys was one of those super baddies, kinda like that incident with the Weapons and Sephiroth of his home world.
But just standing in the door way would probably get him killed, regardless cause he could sense a fight was about to start.

"What have we here?" A very amused Sephiroth announced as he walked into the Third District. Six other individuals besides himself were present, three had absolutely stunning power, the others were respective in their own right; like cadets fighting seasoned veterans. Of course Sephiroth was in his own category, neither group of these peons could associate with him. He would not vocalize this though, as it would waste energy and time.
Three imposing looking brutes, though to Sephiroth he'd been around oafs like these back in the Coliseum and of course he remembered the Weapons. "My, my...what a sight-seeing chance. Where did everyone sign up? I guess I just got lucky. Delightful it is that gazing is such a recreational activity." Every word he spoke aimed to entice some kind of reaction from either side, the three he assumed wanted to blow up and destroy this little world or the apparent sight-seers. Whatever happened didn't matter, Sephiroth wanted a show of the lesser beings on display. The farthest back on the ground with wing ready, Sephiroth would react at a moment's notice; he would not begin by attacking however. One too many times had he been killed or defeated.

Post by Rein on Apr 12, 2009 18:47:58 GMT -5
Rein was ticked. Twisting it's strange grey head towards it's bright and dark allies, the grey titan gave off a faint rumble. More akin to a growl.
Of course, it then took notice of Magus.
St-crunch.... ste-crunch...
Turning it's body to face the shadowmage, Rein stopped momentarily. Vaguely, he seemed to recognize Magus. The fool Nobody who thought standing around was the smartest thing in the--
...no. It wanted, or expected, a fight. A duel.
Rein looked curiously at Magus in response to the unspoken... challenge, maybe?
Uncertain.
Undeciding.
And then affirmative.
Nodding sharply, and crouching slightly, Rein paused... and then brought it's hand up, and around... back behind the back.
And brought the swing down.
The swing was fast. As the blow came down, the arm flowed along and extended slightly while Rein crouched in tandem (thereby giving the blow even more velocity behind it). This creature wasn't solid, strictly speaking.

Rage is often hidden, in the shadows... When this rage is manifested, darkness comes along for the ride...
The sound of darkness continued to echo throughout the buildings of Traverse Town. This was its element. This was its purpose.
The titan looked around, its yellow eyes fading in and out of sight as the fog that seemed to be its head shifted in thickness. It glazed over the mortals, another dark chuckle erupting, seeming to be produced from everywhere.
The titan raised his arm towards Sephiroth as a large black ball began to form. It was easily three times the size of the demon when Necro fired the projectile. The battle had begun.
This was going to be fun.
This was going to be hilarious.

Post by Helio on Apr 14, 2009 19:16:47 GMT -5
Helio turned its blank head towards Zero, recognizing him. It held up a hand to him, as if welcoming him for a moment. Pulses began moving through the body towards the hand in waves, going faster and faster until the entire body was rippling with energy gathering in the hand.
Without any more warning, a giant beam of light shot outwards from the hand at the doorway Zero had come through. If he remained there, he would be injured without chance to escape, for the beam was fast and very, very large indeed. When the beam died down, Helio turned towards the man that his opposite had attacked. Powerful indeed, Helio sensed... but not nearly as powerful as the Titans.
It began stepping towards him, ignoring the previous target to focus on the one that would cause the most challenge... hopefully there would be enough to play with after Necro's attack upon the creature. These mortals broke so easily.

(OOC: First blood and aerophysics FTW! Combat dynamics > raw power. ) 'Like dueling a freight train...' Magus thought to himself. He watched as the Titan of oblivion drew back in what was unmistakably preparation for a punch, readying himself to move at a second's notice. Watching, waiting... and then, there it was: the first, faintest forward movement. Knowing he himself was the target, the rest was simple logic after that. Move too soon, the punch would simply follow him... move too late, and become a smear in the dirt. He had to wait until the forward momentum was too much to adjust for. Split-seconds ticked by like heavy hammer blows, but still Magus held. The gray fist filled his view... and then, in a burst of airborne speed, the mage did what seemed utterly absurd. He flew... towards the Titan's fist. Not straight-on, of course. That would have been certain death. No, his angle was aimed at the crest of the knuckles. It was simple aerodynamics at work: anything pushing through the air creates currents, and something as large as the Titan's meaty paw was displacing huge amounts of air very fast because of it's speed. He cared not for the math, but Magus knew what was useful. That air, being forced aside along the fist's edges, was his escape route. Counting on this unseen dynamic, he dove head-first into the slipstream, clutching Dream Reaper with all his strength and hoping for the best. It was like jumping into a fierce ocean undertow; the blue-haired mage felt himself sucked forward and up over the punch, skimming the surface by inches. A normal human would've suffocated instantly -- literally had the breath sucked out of them -- but Magus wasn't human anymore. The darkness-stained Nobody neither felt the pain of compression nor buckled under the strain on his lungs and eardrums, as these things were nothing more than swirling darkness within his shell of a body. In that moment, his focus was absolute... and his opportunity abundant. Letting out a mighty war cry, he buried Dream Reaper's cutting edge as deep into the "flesh" of Rein's arm as his strength would let him. Playing his exit momentum in his favor, Magus aimed to cut a long bloody swath up the creature's arm, dragging his blade as far and as deep as he could. The counterattack against the Titans had begun.

Any day now. Sephiroth yawned. The terrible trio had yet to do anything particularly interesting except appear menacing. With nothing to back up their "apparent" motives, he wasn't sure to take any of this seriously. A nice change of pace came from a fellow wielding a scythe, who had an idea to manipulate his opponent in his favor. Sephiroth wasn't sure it would work.
Surprisingly, the use of air and force worked, to which Sephiroth saw a great opportunity for his "comrade". Assuming the comrade could handle himself worth anything. Why exactly all of those present suddenly were two parties aligned and these towers of laughable wasted space attacking, Sephiroth no longer cared for. In the end he would ask that question aloud if amusement could bring it.
And the end might come sooner than he thought, to which he noticed the mostly black monstrosity forming some attack to use in his direction. Pending...it ever came. Sephiroth didn't see why to react yet, so again he yawned. A now ball shape continued to expand and Sephiroth remained ever alert, though was considering helping this brute hurry himself up. Finally Sephiroth saw the ball stop growing and prepared for the shot forward, and to this he allowed the ball to come in his direction only a little. The size of the projectile was rather haphazard to the approach, there was no mystery as to where it was going, instead there was a question as to how it would even make it to Sephiroth in the first place. Only seconds after it was shot it would certainly impact the ground long before reaching Sephiroth.
To humor his attacker Sephiroth waited just a moment so the ball blocked out view of him, and with a gust of his wing shot to right to fly through an open window. Perhaps the brute would think he'd killed him. Sephiroth re-appeared on the other side of the building, still very bored. Still very much not fighting.
((OOC: Titan/Demon whatever, but the attack is three times the size of an already huge thing? What did this ball do, disintegrate the surrounding buildings as it grew? Did it grow into the ground and just keep pushing? If so how fast can it move while pushing into the ground? You only mention it raising its arm, so therefore it's not even perpendicular to the ground, since the Thing is larger than Sephiroth, thus looking down.))

Alexis fired. A simple and effective description, none of that guile or tactics the others demonstrated needed. What he fired was five metres in diameter, blue in color and absolutely deadly in deliverance. An azure beam of destruction that would punish all that stood in its path. Alexis unleashed this upon the titans Helios and Necros, having lined up his shot to hit both of them in a row. The distraction and the hidden nature of his presence allowed him the brief time to activate this power from where he was, floating wistfully in the air as he stood flat footed upon his autonomously levitating suit case. He was still a fair distance away, at least enough that it would take even the titans several of their mighty strides to reach him. Alexis pitied any who got in the way of his magic, for even though they may not have been his target, they too would perish in utter destruction.
(-cough-certain now absent one winged angels mayhaps?-cough-)
