Dante rubbed his back a little more and sighed as he looked around for someone who lookedl ike a Mora. He didn't want to take any guesses, so he just said it out loud. "Hey, is there a Mora in here? You're my partner." Dante looked around, waiting for someone to answer him. He had his eyes on the man who didn't speak at all. He barely even made movement. He just had this bad feeling about him.
Dante yawned and looked around more. He didn't care who his partner was, as long as it wasn't that immature guy. He hated people like him and he always would. His back felt better, so he let his hand dangle by his side once more, awaiting the answer he needed.

Angelo. Paired with him, whoever Angelo was, had better prove useful at least. Sephiroth turned to face the rest of the competitors. They'd probably realized he was the unnamed individual, and fair enough, let them wonder was exactly what he preferred.
"Angelo, come." He commanded. This voice was not his normal one; it came out older, harsher, if not hard to discern.

Angelo walked over to the trophy stand and picked up the trophies. He put each in its spot and made them face the right way. He looked around slowly for his ally, examining each one carefully. He heard his name called, and turned around.
"You're my partner, can I at least know your name? It will bug me indubitably if I didn't know you name. But if you insist I won't bug you about it." Angelo said gently. He walked over to his partner slowly but with no resistance.

"Heyp! Yeah, I'm Mora." After shifting the gun strap into a more comfortable position, Mora walked over to the tall guy.
She gave him the once-over.
Mneh. He looked like a nice enough guy. S'always a bonus. Shoving her hand in the air, she looked up to him with a grin. "Mora Vadnais. And you're Dante, right? Nice to meetcha."

"You will know when the match begins." His voice made it clear there would be no more explanation. And with that Sephiroth resumed his motionless state.

"That is good enough for me. I have a feeling this will be a good tournament." Angelo said calmly, half smiling.

Ah good. The world heeded his words without a need to repeat himself, as it should be. Whoever this Iznan was surely he was one loved by fate itself to be able to claim he stood by the side of one such as this. In his benevolent love for all the Angel of Death pondered how he would honour the faithful servant granted to him, but there was time enough for that later. Loved or not the chosen one would need to prove themselves worthy after all, and such was no small feat.
Kuja's self-fulfilled smile of utter peace remained on his face, eyes closing again after having been opened for the satyr's announcement. When they opened they granted Iznan the great gift of a single moment of his attention. Yes Kuja could tell who his partner would be. It was the one who had given a personal reaction to the pairing which included his own name. The gift was brief though and he quickly returned to his state of seemingly perfect peace, untroubled by the world around him.
"Iznan. Such a wonderfully lucky fellow," he said softly. "Shall his luck prevail him once within the coliseum walls?"
One might take note that he spoke as if the person in question wasn't standing right there in the room with him.

Iznan scoffed loudly as his name was announced last, alongside Kuja. He guessed that being the last name to be called was both suitable and appropriate, but that wasn't what he was excited about. From the moment Kuja had entered the ring, he'd taken a liking to the guy. Sure he was a little full of himself, off in his own world and all of that, but at least he didn't have that annoying mysticism about him that half of these characters seemed to have. A bunch of weirdos is what they were. Iznan figured he was the only "normal" one there. Then again, maybe normal wasn't the best choice of words in this particular circumstance.
He hopped down off of the trophy case, and sauntered over to stand by Kuja. He was perfectly willing to deal with the feather-haired man, just as long as the feather-haired man could deal with him. "Luck only gets you so far, my friend." He muttered with a shrug, smiling, pleased as peaches. "But I'm sure once we get out in the ring, there will be plenty opportunity to prove that." Dante smiled and nodded, grabbing ahold of Mora's hand. "Dante Hyubasi. Pleasure to meet you, Mora." Dante could feel the nagging of Madam in the back of his head, urging him to do something evil, but he kept himself calm. So, this was his partner. She seemed nice enough, but all would be played out in due time. He was just interested in the fights for now.
"The people here all seem pretty capable of doing some good damage, that means you, too. By the way, what's your weapon?" Dante didn't see the weapon of Mora's. he was to busy watching the others converse with each other. Dante didn't have anything against Mora, and he doubted he ever would, but if she didn't pull her own weight, it would mean the end for the both of them.

Mora shoved a red clump of hair out of her face as he asked about her weapon.
"My weapon? Well, here, just lemme..." Twisting around, Mora grabbed the strap she had on that ran from her shoulder to her waist. Sliding it up, the gun that had been held tight against her back fell into its more comfortable position, hanging at her side and ready for use.
It was a bit on the large side, and a bit blocky, actually. The main part of it was a streamlined grey/blue chunk with a translucent cover over the top and designed so that it would rest easily on her hip, shoulder, or the ground. Protruding from the front end was the tubing that made up the barrel. It was a single barrel, and a bit on the large side. Something about the blue sheen on the metal, though, and the make of it gave the gun a bit of a robust and imposing appearance.
Hefting it up with her arms, she brought it up and over to Dante. "This fancy thing is the MXL Mark 2. Heavy-ish, sorta, but it's a small sacrifice." Mora shrugged. "Here, wanna hold it?"

Dante looked over at what Mora was holding at him and it raised his interest. He hadn't seen a gun in a long time, so seeing Mora holding this huge chunk of metal brought back a few memories. MXL Mark 2, eh? Sounded spiffy and it looked it, too. He looked over the shiny steel and smiled when Mora asked if he wanted to hold it. He reached for it, gently handling it and running his fingers over the cold metal. He held it like he was going to shoot someone, but held it towards the sky. It was a magnificent machine, alright. Almost godly. He brought it down and slowly handed it to Mora, still keeping a grin on his face.
"It's a beauty. I would love to own one of these things, but I'm not the best with guns or anything of the sort. I'm more of a swordsman, but I bet you guessed that by what's on my back." Dante motioned to his cleaver that was hanging by a strap on his back. He clenched the hilt and brought it out, showing off his awesomeness. Made of powerful steel and polished everyday, this was the perfect match for a gun like Mora's. "What about you? Want to hold my blade? It may not have any special name or anything fancy like your weapon does, but it's better than nothing."

Mora took the gun back, all while looking over the blade. It was nice, that much was for sure.
If the nice sheen coming off of it was anything to go by, it was used regularly and cared for a lot. Must have some history or meaning.
Sighing, she shook her head at the offer to hold it. "Sorry, but I'm good." True, she knew how to use one well enough, (Blame basic training for that one.) but knives tended to give her the willies. Staffs are good. Sharp things like this cleaver, though, not so much. The cleaver was just a bit much for Mora right then. "Maybe later," she added. "Okay?"
Turning around, Mora looked over the room and it's occupants. Everybody doing their own thing. Her mouth set in a grim line, Mora decided to try and get things moving along. Or at least a bit more productively!
Hands on her hips, she asked to no one in particular, "So, we gonna get time to plan in private, or are we just not caring about that?"

[short post]
Phil walked over to a bracket and wrote down the teams. This bracket determined who fought who. This was this rounds particular match up.
Riku and Reika vs. Angelo and Sephiroth Kuja and Iznan vs. Dante and Mora
He walked away and shouted. "First round fights ready to go! go to the arena!"
[btw, these fights will take place in the arena]

Riku walked over to see when he would be fighting. Amazingly he would be the first to fight. Angelo and Sephiroth were his opponents which he found interesting to find out that Sephiroth was here as well. Riku remembered Sora mentioning fighting someone very powerful by that name, so this was the one and only huh? He looked around and spotted the swordsman since he was the one who had called for Angelo.
He didn't know anything about the other guy Angelo but he was sure to find out in the match. With no time to waste Riku turned around and left the waiting room heading towards the arena. His partner Reika, (whom he had yet to meet) would evidently be there as well.

Kuja returned to the waiting area with no physical exertion having been necessary at all, let alone a scratch. Iznan had proven to be... suitable enough as a partner. It wasn't as if Kuja could expect anyone to actually compare to him, after all. This was the most to look for in the lesser beings.
"Are you tired Iznan, dear?" he asked his partner. Though it seemed a kind thing to do, Kuaj didn't actually look the man's way as he spoke. He simply kept walking towards the other end of the room.
