"A ha ha ha ha! What a rush!"
The body of Eldin Desura suddenly came back to life in Shyne's arm in laughter before the red-eyed Nobody's neck tilted back up to look his rescuer in the eyes.
"My hero!" he declared, then threw his head down so it was resting into her neck, making them uncomfortably(Depending on one's opinions of personal space) close. Though he was playing around at that the shell did at least have the sense to hold on to the vine with his two hands so that Shyne wouldn't be supporting them both with just one of her own arms.
Though doing so did allow him to effectively put his arms around her as well.

She was looking at him oddly. Well, it may not seem odd to him since he couldn't know that her blank stare was considered an odd look. It was like "old times". Eldin Desura getting wrapped up in his own fun or heroing and needing a mild amount of saving by the side-kick princess was what she was thinking of..and she almost thought that was the case if not for the unfamiliar eyes.
But there was something about this guy!
She didn't mind the closeness, really. Saving people all the time and carrying them off kind of eliminated personal space anyway. Grinning at him, she nodded. "A hero..that's what I WILL be someday! A true one.." she said, still grinning. It was what she was doing in his memory, after all. She'd become a hero for him.
With a soft grunt, she let go of him and switched hands holding herself up on the vine, letting her now aching one rest. At least it hadn't popped out of socket like she thought it might have. "Are you okay?"

"Oh definitely," Chaosin responded, still smiling and chuckling a little. "I'm used to this kind of stuff. I'm always bumping into or falling down or getting trampled under something or other."
Suddenly there was a shift in both of their weights. Desura's Nobody didn't seem to notice, or at least to pay it any mind as he laughed at his own admission of would-be clumsiness, but above them the thinner-than-normal vine was having some trouble supporting both of their weights.
Snap!
Splash!
Maybe the "something" abotu this guy that Shyne was feeling was an aura of horrible luck?

He didn't need to tell her. She could tell he was a complete klutz, yet for Sparky it was kind of endearing. She chuckled with him as he talked, wrapped up in what he was saying and not noticing they were about to plunge into the water below. Well, not until it was too late.
"Hey..did we just-- GAAAH!?"
The snapping noise, the fall...it seemed like slow motion. Too bad the rush of water into her nose, mouth and eyes wasn't in slowmo as well. She had no time to react at all. At least they weren't above the water far enough to hurt, right?
With a little effort Shyne bobbed back to the surface for a deep breath and some spluttering, blinking water from her eyes and looking around. "Sparky?" she called out, choking on some water. The ninja was by no means a professional swimmer...but at least she wouldn't drown.
This was turning out to be quite an experience!

A soggy head of shiny silver strands plopped up out of the murk several meters away from Shyne. Eldin's neck was still below water but the Nobody lashed his visible face from side to side, spraying off drops.
"Man, that was close," the young man said with a laugh in his voice as he always did. "I was bit worried there since I can't swim."
Actually he wasn't worried in the slightest, and whether or not he could swim would have depended on Desura, but none of that was for Shyne to ponder. No... she should have been wondering how his head was above water if he supposedly only knew how to sink like a rock.
"Good thing I met this guy."
Eldin's shell suddenly began to rise up farther, revaling that he wans't horizontal like the ninja girl, but closer to vertical. The Nobody was laid out on the back of a large pink hippo as it slowly broke the surface and stared over at Shyne with narrowed eyes.
It didn't look amused.

Shyne had indeed been puzzling how he wasn't way underwater by now when he mentioned that he'd "met" someone. Or in this case, someTHING. Blad luck might not be too far off for Sparky. While the hippo was certainly good for him, keeping him afloat, it didn't seem to take much of a liking to her nor the fact that their plummet from above had disturbed it.
For a moment she really wasn't sure what to do... with all her clothes on she was heavy in the water, barely able to keep herself up. But now she got the feeling she should be swimming for her life. While hippos weren't exactly the most dangerous thing she could think of that would be in the water, it could certainly be just as dangerous if it was mad and you couldn't swim away fast enough.
This was one of those moments where the side-kick princess might need some saving..
"Uh..Sparky...I think we're in trouble. We need to get to shore....if the hippo comes after me, I'll lead it near the shore so you can jump off and hopefully I can get out as well, alright?" the ninja planned. Ninjas weren't made for water!!! Grah!

"Aw, what are you talkin' about love?" the Nobody asked innocently... or at least some persona of innocence it had concocted for her. "Old Tubey here wouldn't do that? Would you Tubey? Right? Right?"
As he asked the newly-nicknamed hippo a question it couldn't possibly understand Desura's shell went the extra mile to tap the animal on the head with his fist every time he said 'right' as if to emphasize playfully. or annoyingly. Whichever he was going for.
We can all guess which way the hippo took it, of course.

Well, "Old Tubey" didn't like the knocking...so Shyne's plan completely backfired, to her horror. The hippo twisted it's neck as much as it could to set one steely-eyed glare on him. "Sparky...Tubey WOULD do that, yes..." she said, and no sooner had she said it did the hippo start thrashing. Well, as much as a large pink hippo could.
"Ack! No, no Tubey! Tubey! Over here! Over here!" The large hippo was making quite the waves, making it hard for her to stay afloat as well as try and distract the enraged water beast.
It's not working!!
Just as she was about to panic because of too much water in her nose AND because the hippo was trying to ROLL Sparky off, another pink hide bubbled up from the depths under her feet. This one seemed much more...docile. And near. "Sparky! Jump over here!"

"Oh man! Tubey sure is playful today!" Eldin said with glee as he held on tightly to the hippopotamus' back and was thrashed from side to side. The Nobody always did seem to be having the time of his life no matter what was actually happening.
"Sparky! Jump over here!"
"OK!"
Sparky decided to immediately comply to Shyne's request, thus he stopped holding on tight and started to get up so he could jump. He was rocked back and forth as he attempted to get balance on a thrashing pink hippo, but somehow got to his feet.
"Geronimo!"
Chaosin didn't really 'jump' so much as 'dive'... right at Shyne.

"..Er..." Shyne's eyes widened as she watched him precariously rise to his feet...and then obey her words. She only wished he'd obeyed more closely to her definition of jump..
"Ooh dear.....URK!"
She didn't dare try to get out of the way. If she wasn't there to stop him, he might have broken his neck on hard hippo hide or slipped into the water. It was still unknown if he could actually swim or not. And so, he dove right into Shyne, which knocked the wind out of her, yet she managed to grip onto him tightly before they tumbled off the second hippo and into the water. That plan failed too. With much effort she pulled them both up...but once more they were forced up out of the water by a third hippo! They were now surfacing everywhere, as if called!
The water was polkadotted with pink. Angry pink dots of MRAWR.

"Now we're talking!" Eldin yelled playfully, grabbing Shyne's arm and climbing up the face of the closest hippo before they started to go under. The hippo wasn't at all pleased with this, but the Nobody managed to move quickly enough to keep his feet from getting chomped off before dragging the ninja princess over the side. "Let's go!"
And with that he started jumping from pink blob to pink blob with the girl in tow(She was graceful enough to handle it). Each one would rock and try to unbalance them but he just kept going and wouldn't let go of Shyne's arm until they got close enough to the bank where a huge tree was growing. Thick ivy ran up the side of the tree and Sparky leaped onto it, using the ivy as climbing holds. He scrambled up quickly and looked back to make sure Shyne was following him out of the hippos' reach.

And thank goodness she was a graceful creature. Even as she was hauled out of the water and up onto a chomping splashing blob of pink jungle lake blubber, she managed to quickly end up on her feet to follow after him. She didn't have a choice, the grip on her arm determined where she would go. Shyne was never so glass she was sure-footed in all her life. Well, that she could remember right now. Who knew hippos could be so angry and dangerous? And chompy.
He was so..playful. And fearless. She marveled at him while they jumped. It was only as she flung herself at the vines and started to climb slowly with her sore arm that she again became alarmed by the lack of pseudo-familiar voice in her head. Did things like that really fade with time? In all the commotion she'd forgotten to think about it, as odd as that sounds...and only moments later she forgot again.
She escaped the hippo but not the waves of splashes that drenched her one last time before she caught up with him. She grinned tiredly.
"Well! That was an adventure..."

"Of course it was," Eldin said simply as he flopped down on his back on the thick branch, hands behind his head as if to sleep. "If there's two people its always an adventure."
the Nobody crossed one leg over the other and already had his eyes closed. He really did look like he intended to take a nap in the middle of a dangerous jungle.
"Aren't two better than one for having an experience?" he asked with a chuckle.

Absurd as it was, Shyne flopped down too but onto her stomach. She was tired physically, though mentally her mind was racing. She grinned to herself. It felt good for an adventure to happen like that again. Her body and mind felt alive there for a moment, instead of lost and grieving. Her arms formed a pillow under her head, one leg hanging off the branch comfortably.
"Two is definitely better than one." she agreed, still winded but the smile and excitement was still in her voice. "I needed that. It's been too long.."

"That was my first time, love," Chaosin said happily before adjusting so that he was leaving on his right elbow and supporting his chin with that hand. The red eyes of the Nobody looked over with amusement at the princess. "Was it good for you?"
And with that Eldin's shell could no longer bear to feign anything but laughter, bursting out in a fit of chuckles and laughs. he hadn't been lying though. Sure he'd dragged others into his shenanigans before, but none had seemed to willingly run along with them. Certainly none had seemed happy about it afterward.
