Shadow had just left the room to take care of some personal matters while the other matches were taking place when his opponent came running out right behind him. Did this guy want to fight already? No, instead it seemed his would-be opponent wished to tag along. Shadow did not need this right now. He stopped walking and turned his head over to where Meiser was at looking at him with an annoyed look. "I suggest you leave and go cause ruckus somewhere else."
Shadow had no intentions of causing a ruckus in the Underworld especially since the chances that Hades would be aware of such things were too high of a risk. What good would it do anyways? Shadow looked over at the two pathways that led to two large doors. One of them led to Hades room which was where he needed to go. If he remembered correctly the layout had said that the door on the right was the way to go. So he went that way. If the other guy continued to follow him then so be it, but Shadow did not intend on helping him in any way. If he dies he dies.

Meiser shrugged, sticking beside the strange figure and following him, looknig to their surroundings and wondering as to how many chambers this cavern actually withheld. Crossing his arms and staring up ahead, why would this man actually want to stroll around at all? This was abnormal in many ways, there must be some reason as to why he had to, it's not like anyone could have fun having a good 'ol walk around here. Unless you were some kind of freak, which would be Meiser.
"Either way, pal. We're all the kind to cause a ruckus, why do you think he stated the whole..."
Meiser took a large gasp, taking a paper out of thin air and placing a monocle onto his right eye as he spoke quickly.
"Bytheactofcompetinginthegames youalldo herebyandhencewithholdnotliablemyself andmyassociates foranyinjuriestraumamentalandphysicalscarringandorwars thatmayoccurasaconsequenceofthetournament. Meiser grinned at the end, tossing the monocle and ripping the paper up into shreds. He did have a point, why else would Hades wish to say such a thing to the lot of gladiators?

As Meiser talked and the two traveled deeper into the underworld, it would hardly be noticed that they were being watched. High above, embedded in the cavernous ceiling, what at first appeared to be a rock split open, revealing a ghoulish blue eye. It blinked, as if awakened from its slumber, then glanced around for a moment before locking its sights on Meiser and Shadow. Intruders! The center of the eye began to glow ever so faintly as it continued to watch... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Meanwhile, in the Box Seats..."Well well..." Hades mused. Mere seconds ago a ring of blue flame had appeared floating next to his seat, and within it a transparent image of the two wandering contestants. ' Those imps really are worthless! Good thing I had that Mephit security system installed.' He thought silently, then realized that Ares was giving him a suspicious look. "Looks like two of the competitors got lost looking for the bathroom. I'll just send a few minions to help them find their way..." ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The air around Shadow and Meiser rang with a sound like someone snapping their fingers, echoing and reverberating down the corridor. That sound, however, was soon replaced as a loud rumbling shook the corridor like a miniature earthquake. From cracks in the rock emerged plumes of pale green gas, morphing and taking shape as it rose. From the ground up they assembled, half a dozen walking skeletons with spiked shields and jagged short swords, pacing forward to stand in Shadow's way. " ...rrreeeeetttuuurrrnnn..." The grim warrior in front spoke with a voice like a dry desert wind. It was clear that these undead didn't want the two warriors going any further. (OOC: Just a few basic skeletons for you guys to play around with at your leisure. Have fun!)

Shadow had expected that this would happen. There was no way in hell that Hades would just leave his place unsecured like this even with a tournament happening. Shadow would have to deal with any type of punishment later, but for now he had to get past these walking skeleton soldiers. So he chose to ignore their request and instead take them all down. What the other guy chose to do was up to him alone but Shadow did not care if he helped him or not.
Wasting no time he pulled out his beam gun from his holster and aimed it directly at the skeletons. Once it charged all the way it fired a long beam of energy that vaporized the first skeleton it touched. Shadow moved his gun slowly to the right taking down any other skeleton soldier that was in the beams path. Eventually the beam died down and Shadow would let it cool down for the moment. He placed it back in its holster and went for a defensive position.

Meiser applauded the man that had vaporized the skeletons down to nothing. The beam was interesting, seeing as it didn't take the stranger much effort to move it to the side and destroy a few others. Though, not all of them, a few others left charged at the man with their blades. Silent and boring, that was the description Meiser had given them.
Jumping in front of Shadow was the masked marvel, releasing both his pistols from their holsters and held them in criss-cross fashion. firing rapidly, each shot fired through their skulls. But he knew that this wouldn't take themn down, so after a few shots to cripple their arms and legs, he put them away and swiftly dashed toward them. Pulling two swords from the sheathes on his back, he span and sliced at their legs and arms, finishing the job his guns had started. The bone limbs fell to the ground, grinning wickedly at his beautiful art-work.
The Merc put his swords away, one skeleton was left. And instead of slicing him, he took two arms that were sliced off and dashed to the remaining foe. Jumping into the air and onto his head, he slapped it around each side of his cheek-bones. It reached up to slice him with its sword, but Meiser jumped off by then and stabbed the arm through his Rib-Cage. Pieces of splintered bones flew into the air, and his final attack with the arm he had taken as a weapon was to stab it into the top of his head.
Kicking the ruined fragment of what it was before, he dusted off his hands and kicked whatever parts were left before him. Walking beside Shadow, he smirked and just thought up a joke.
"Pretty dead crowd, wouldn't you say?"

"Hmph! Could you have been any more sloppier?" Shadow smirked back at Meiser after seeing his performance. He continued on his way walking over the fallen remains of the skeleton soldiers. Shadow knew this was just the first of many more stops along the way to where he was going. Hades would surely send more powerful enemies to prevent them from continuing any further.
But with the other guy here as well Shadow could take less time in dealing with the road blocks that Hades would send. So you could guess that Shadow was somewhat grateful to have him around even if he didn't want him here.
Shadow and Meiser were now in the Underworlds Cave of the Dead: Inner Chamber. A more narrow and long pathway with unexpected things lurking around every corner. Shadow had read all about this in his report so he made sure that he would keep an eye out should anything try to come out and surprise them.
Once they got past this place all that was left was the Valley of the Dead and then they would reach Hades Chamber. That was where he was attempting to head for.

Meiser grinned to the boy's remark, seems he was a smart ass as well. Shrugging it off, he began to walk beside Shadow, looking to the very narrow trail. Grinning, he was silent for a for a few minutes, looking to their surroundings. Wasn't the best time to talk, besides he was thinking a lot and talking would interupt that. Why were they headed out here in the first place?
Meiser was just around for the good 'ol fun, smirking beneath his mask. He took his pistols out just in case something were to happen, and he was ready for any enemies that came their way.

'Grrr... little punks thing they can just go wandering about at will in MY Underworld?!' Hades silently fumed, having watched the two warriors dispatch his skeleton. Fortunately, Ares seemed to be more interested in what was going on in the fighting ring to notice Hades' reaction. The grim lord, noticing this, dispelled his viewing portal, quietly stood and began to leave. "Where are you going? It's just getting good!" Hades froze, then calmed down and turned back with a smile on his face. "Oh, uh, hey. Just something I forgot to take care of earlier. You know, managing these things takes a lot of work. I'll be right back." With that, he quickly poofed out of sight. Reappearing in his throne room, Hades wasted no time; blue flames pouring like water from his hands, he willed an immense circular area of the floor to simply disappear . . . opening up the Underworld's deepest dungeon: Tartarus. This was the big one, where all the souls too powerful, too evil, or too tortured to be contained in the normal way were kept at bay. For a time it had even harbored some of the lesser Titans, but they had long since been sealed away in a separate section that even Hades didn't have access to. It was risky for even a god to tap into the restless storm of dangerous souls that resided in this deep pit, thus it was a last resort of sorts. Still, if he was going to find something to stop those two wandering trouble-makers, he'd find it here. "Alrighty..." Hades whirled his fists around one another, gathering a swirling vortex of fiery divine power. "C'mon, baby, daddy needs to get lucky today!" "Here... we..." He concentrated his power and cast it into the abyss with a single loud shout of " GO!" The fireball swirled down into the darkness, illuminating ethereal terrors too vile to mention. Hades watched it descend, desperately hoping this time worked out better than last. He certainly didn't need another Auron scenario. A plume of light signaled that his power had hit bottom; a moment later a rush of unearthly necrotic green light swept up from the depths, filling the room and momentarily blinding even the dark god. When the light cleared, smoke filled the room. It slowly, ever so slowly, began to settle... and amid the haze a figure emerged. A figure... with an eerily familiar looking sword. (OOC: Enter Angeal. Arke asked if I could work in his character's history with being resurrected by Hades, so this'll be his 'opening scene' to that whole business. He may or may not decide to become a player in the Out Of Battle story action -- considering Hades intends to send him against Meiser and Shadow, there'll certainly be opportunity for it. Anyways, on with the show!)

Angeal had been summoned from the Lifestream, from death. But by what, or rather who? He couldn't see at first, due to smoke surrounding him, but once it was clear, Angeal saw the god of death. He unsheathed his sword and stood ready for battle.
"Where am I? And just what are you?" Angeal put emphasis on the what, for he had never seen such a being before. Well that was a lie, he had, among various monsters of his world. And well, he too was a rather strange being. Angeal sheathed his weapon when Hades didn't attack, though he was still wary of this thing, and still ready to fight on a moment's notice.
"I'm Angeal, but I have the feeling you already know that, as well as a list of other things. That wouldn't be the first time this is the case, so go ahead hot head, tell me what you know." Angeal chuckled, he just hoped that Hades wouldn't get angry with his little joke. After all, this thing had to have some power to live so long.

" 'Hot head'?! Hey, watch your tone, bub!" Hades folded his arms across his chest and leveled an imposing glare at the newly resurrected soul. "You stand before Hades, lord of the Underworld, god of the dead! It's only because of me that you're even standing here right now, so show a little respect!"
With that declaration Hades began to pace around the room, talking as he did so. "I pulled you out of the afterlife -- if you can even call that pit such a thing -- because I need a little extra muscle at the moment. Thus, if you work with me, I'm willing to cut you a deal, kid. You do my bidding for... oh, I dunno... let's just say ten years -- nice round number -- and in exchange I give you back not only your life, but your freedom as well. A full seventy-plus years to do with whatever you want; though if you manage to get yourself killed along the way don't expect me to bail you out again."
He stopped, looked at Angeal, and snapped his fingers. To the warrior's right appeared a flaming blue circle displaying Meiser and Shadow. "This is my most immediate concern. These two cut down a squad of undead like they were mowing the grass -- genuine tough guys, that's for sure. And for some reason they're heading this way. Problem is, I can't just kill 'em because I need these shmucks for a tournament I'm running." Another snap, and the flame-edged image vanished.
"That is where you come in, my battle-hardened friend. Your first task as my new minion is to intercept these two bozos and rough 'em up a little bit. Knock them out, then drag their sorry butts back to the tournament waiting room. Understand?"

"You're the one who brought me back? Okay then I guess I owe you an apology." Angeal replied curtly. There was something about this guy he didn't like. And he soon figured out why. Hades was trying to extortion to get Angeal to do what Hades wanted. Work for him, keep his life. Work for ten years, earn his freedom. Not exactly good guy things to say. Hades then went on about two guys that were giving him trouble, and as far as Angeal was concerned, he figured he deserved it.
"Rough them up? Sorry, I don't do that to guys who haven't created suffering. Though you have. I'll make you a deal, Hades was it? I'll get those guys to go back without hurting them unless I absolutely have to. Because there is no honor in fighting those who don't deserve it. But there is in fighting those who create suffering. And you certainly have, as far as I can tell. I deal with them for you, then you release me, or I come after you, and fight you, monster to monster." Angeal chuckled. He couldn't believe what was going on, but he wasn't going to argue with fate.
Angeal ran at the opening Hades called a window, and jumped out. He landed with a light thud, then ran toward the only exit. He then came into the Cave of the Dead: Inner Chamber. He walked partway in, then stopped, hand on his Buster Sword, ready to fight if need be. Now he would wait.

"WHO ARE YOU CALLING A MONSTER?!" Hades bellowed as Angeal leapt out of the opening. Still, by that time the reckless, stubborn mortal was already on his way... and Hades decided to let him go.
For now.
He groaned, massaging the sides of his head as an immense headache overwhelmed him. Another Auron!! Just his luck... and what's more, this one was a stuck-up goody two shoes who thought he could tell the lord of the afterlife what to do! 'You release me, or I come after you'... like THAT was going to happen! Hades clenched his fists at the thought of such indigence. He'd teach that kid a lesson later, when he was wandering and hopelessly lost in the bowels of the underworld. Meantime, the hippy-panzy with a broadsword was doing what Hades wanted.
If it came down to it, some sappy hero acting as a roadblock might even work better than a hellbent warrior of mass destruction. But just to be safe, Hades would stay put. Chances were that those two rogue gladiators were headed here... it would be interesting to find out why.
Hades, too, waited.

Shadow and Meiser continued down the Inner Chamber. Along the path they would encounter some low class Heartless which they would easily take care of in a matter of seconds. Shadow though would grab one or two of the Heartless and drain the darkness they contained within them since he had been feeling a bit low. With his fill now at an alright level, he was more prepared for anyone and anything that came their way.
He hadn't noticed it at first, but there were alot of floating white balls of energy around this place. One of them floated around Shadow for a little bit before vanishing. These were the spirits of the deceased wandering around the Underworld for all eternity. Was this the fate of all beings once they died? It was a sad thing for Shadow to see, he couldn't accept that this was all that was left for him once his life ended.
At the end of the pathway stood a much older looking man holding a very large sword in his hand. Shadow knew he wasn't one of the contestants, and he also knew that he wasn't a Heartless or Nobody. He was human, to say the least and judging from the darkness in his heart, a human with a dark past. He was standing in the way of the exit so Shadow already knew he was sent here by Hades.
"Are you here to stop me from going past that exit as well?" Shadow asked the older warrior.

Mesier slapped some heartless around as they passed them, slicing through the annoyances with his dual-wielding swords. What pathetic things they were, but yet so intriguing all at the same time. What excited him more was he knew Hades was trying to stop them, did he have some skeletons in the closet or something? Placing his swords back into his sheathes as they strolled down Hades' domain, he took out his pistols and span them around. They stopped, seems another obstacle was put into their path, how joyful that was.
Steadying his guns, he aimed straight for the man, arm crossing the other. His accuracy never faltered, he was a good shoot and soon this new swordsman would learn of how painful lead was. Anticipation ran throughout his entire body, waiting to pull those triggers like a mad man. Hades seemed to have learned though, he summoned a new hero it seems, and not those weak minions he used to try and block them. The marvel sensed a great battle coming, but he wondered if this man could even scathe him.
"Hey, move outta the way before I spray your shirt with a delightful blood red!"

Angeal watched as two warriors walked toward him. He recognized them as the two Hades wanted stopped. He grinned when they both made comments regarding him blocking their way.
"I've no intention to fight you, yet. My fight is with all who create suffering, and as far as I can tell, you don't. Hades does. So in that respect, go ahead and see him. If you don't finish him off, I will. But why do you seek this monster?" Although Angeal didn't really care, it could help justify the whole Hades creates suffering thing he had just said. Angeal stepped out of the way, allowing them to pass if they wish.
