That was... abrupt.
The entire assault that put an end to the fight caught Magus completely by surprise, and he was very fortunate not to get caught in the wave of destruction that came crashing into the room like a lightning bolt. As the dust settled, he recognized the small blue creature from earlier standing triumphal victory over the entire mess. He began to walk over to the alien being, cautious and somewhat confused. Before he could get close, though, the blue dog-like creature intercepted him... in a somewhat humorous fashion.
"Stitch."
Hmm... curious. Intelligent, aggressive... yet oddly child-like. Magus raised one eyebrow in bemusement as he shook Stitch's hand.
"Magus."
He looked around at the shattered and broken pillars. "Quite a mess you've made... but thank you, nonetheless."

"Allow me to thank you both... For multiple reasons." Orias staggered into the room, forehead dripping with blood. "You have saved the Temple from invasion... and for that I thank you. The Seal remains locked... and for that, I also thank you. You have protected our sacred object from theft... and for that, too, I thank you."
"And..." He sighed. "...You have ended the life of the Temple... and as my life has gone on far too long, I thank you for that as well."

Magus' reaction as the wounded monk was silence, though when he mentioned ending the Temple's life the shadowmage's eyes went wide with surprise. How had that... wait, he spoke as though his existence and that of the Temple were joined somehow? Did that mean...?
"So the dream... the vision... is this why it led me here? That you -- this Temple -- might be relieved of the vigil you've kept for ages?"

"No." Orias shook your head. "I believe it warned you of the impending danger... and brought you here so that if worst came to worst, you could bear away our sacred object, save from the armored man that attacked us."
"Allow me to explain. I am Orias, yes, but I am also known as the Temple of the Seal. I am the spirit manifest of the Temple. The only other truly living person here is the Seal, who was a full mortal... long ago we bound our souls and lives together, forming the Seal and removing a powerful Heartless from this universe... As did my four brothers."

"And now the Seal is being placed in jeopardy by that man in black armor." Magus surmised, his expression grim and eyes cast downward. "But perhaps... perhaps, as you say, the worst has been averted." He looked back up. "Tell me then, Orias: what path should I walk to best honor your memory, and protect against this threat? What would you have me do?"

"Straight to the point. Admirable. Remember, Magus... you must listen to yourself deep within in order to help yourself, as I have said already. Our sacred object." Orias held forth his hand. In it were what appeared to be two earrings. "Each Temple protects a sacred object. Ours is this; the Earrings of Listening. Be warned; once they are worn, they are irremovable. However, when their power is activated, you will have increased hearing as most people have only dreamed of. Take these, and keep them safe in whatever manner you choose."
Item: Earrings of Listening (Goes into your inventory or to be edited into your character's Equips) Effect: When activated, the wearer's hearing will be greatly increased so as to be able to pinpoint even the slightest sound within 100 feet. This effect lasts for 5 turns. However, during this period, loud noises and sonic attacks will incapacitate the wearer, even to the point where talking too loud can cause physical pain.

[BWAHAHAHAHA Stitch aleady has that innate ability.
Sorry for the vanish. Back!]
Stitch looked breifly at the earrings before deciding that they weren't edible. Though he had been curious...
Stitch kept quiet, as he had been, and examining the Orias person. Admittefly, those "wiser than thou" people tended to get on Stitch's nerves... but this guy didn't give off that vibe. Huh.
Tilting his head to the left, Stitch raised an eyebrow. "Mortal... so, now?"

(OOC: I'll put them in my Inventory for now, though I'll probably have Magus give them to Kassom later -- they'd be an awesome addition to his roguish arsenal. Are they permanent, or for this Quest only?)
Magus took the earrings with a respectful nod. "I shall protect them, of that you have my solemn oath Orias." The shadowmage bowed to the wounded spirit of the Temple, a bittersweet gesture which was just as much one of parting as gratitude. "Whatever afterlife awaits you, I hope you find peace and rest... I will carry on here, and stop any who threaten to unleash what you have sacrificed so much to seal away."

((Permanent.))
Orias smiled. "Afterlife... I wonder if we do indeed have one? Either way... it shall be good to rest. However... You two must leave at once. When the Seal is broken... the Heartless it sealed away shall be released upon this world. While I do not doubt your strength, it will be too powerful for you to face at the moment of its release." There was the sound of crumbling stone in the distance, and Orias looked away, one hand drifting to his arm. "The Temple will not last much longer."

Stitch walked up to the Orias, and gave a small tug on his sleeve. Without giving the man a chance to decline, Stitch reached up and gripped the man's hand, giving it a quick shake.
With a weak smile, Stitch looked up to the man. "Then... see you later."
Without warning, Stitch suddenly shot off and ran for the exit of the temple. He immediately returned, and looked sheepishly at Magus. "We go where, now?"
Apparently, Stitch still has his big red battle cruiser.

Heeding the Orias' urging, the shadowmage turned and followed his furry blue companion out of the Temple. Even as he passed the entrance it was impossible not to see the Temple beginning to crumble all around them. It was a regrettable sight, even for one without true emotions... but there was nothing more that could be done here, not now.
A great threat loomed... a threat to all life. If it was to be stopped, they would need to return with many strong, formidable allies.
"We go where, now?"
Magus considered the question for a long moment, rubbing his chin as he did so. Strong allies... hmm. Perhaps...
"I believe our next course should lead us to a world of gods and heroes. If anyone can help us confront this growing threat, we're likely to meet them there." He reached down and offered the small blue alien a chance to climb up onto his shoulders. "The Olympus Coliseum is our best bet."

[/center] Stitch nodded affirmatively, and accented the nod with a quick, "Ih." He was thinking back to the world... and remembering it vaguely... it was the yellow one, right? Over to the right...? Reaching back and around behind him, the alien pulled out what looked to be a set of car keys from his butt in true Disney style. With a broad grin, Stitch pushed down on the only button there. -BEEP-BEEP-Without warning, a massive Gummi Ship unveiled itself. Desperately pulling a hard left, a large red battlecruiser came into view from behind a far right mountain. Giddy with pride, Stitch bounced up and down at the sight of his pride and joy. His hands clapped together before the experiment bounded down for the nearest cliff edge that the fast approaching ship might be able to near.

Magus admitted himself a moment of shock, truly impressed. That ship... it was massive! The mage let one corner of his jaw turn upwards into a slight grin. Perhaps they had a chance in this fight after all...
Not wanting to keep his fuzzy new ally waiting, Magus willed himself to rise into the air and flew off to catch up with Stitch. Theirs was bound to be an odd partnership... but sometimes the unexpected is the greatest weapon there is.

The Orias, oddly enough, began chanting a strange song. The ancient words flowed through the air, perhaps even penetrating barriers for the two warriors to hear it. It was endowed with an immense sense of peace, and soothed the mind. All around him, the Temple continued crumbling. Fresh wounds began appearing all over his body, as he continued singing and chanting. Soon, the Temple had crumbled into mere rubble.
The Orias was nowhere to be seen.
