A maiden's match

Priscilla De'hâta fancied Radiant Garden to the point that she visited every few months. Why exactly was most likely a number of reasons. Priscilla could not lie that there were real motives, but none of those came to her mind at the time.

Rarely did she wander beyond the town center or into the bailey, instead she kept herself to the fountain and looked at the wide expanse of Radiant Garden. Priscilla wished her son could have come with her, though it was impossible, she had never spent real time with him. Instead she stood quietly looking over the railing, begging the question that maybe if she waited long enough she would see some spectacular message and would be at ease. Not likely.

But what she would see, at least, was a young woman with long dark hair walking nearby, seemingly lost in her own thoughts. She was clad in black leather, bare arms betraying hints to her strength.

It was only a short time before Tifa looked over and saw the woman sitting quietly nearby. As was her nature, she sauntered over with a small smile on her lips. Usually people didn't sit around here, so perhaps she needed some assistance.

"Excuse me, do you need some help?" she asked, stopping in front of the person with a friendly expression on her face, hands clasped behind her back. She was ever helpful...and right now pretty bored. Everyone was busy except her, but that's because she had gotten distracted with her own thoughts. Might as well try and make up for it by making a visitor more comfortable.

Priscilla turned to the woman who walked up to her, and was taken aback. For some reason her face startled her. Did she resemble Priscilla? Certainly she was over-reacting. Immediately Priscilla stood and bowed.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean anything. I'm afraid I'm ok at the moment." Her words practically came out like bullets, yet the splendor of how perfectly crisp and clear they were was uncanny. She raised herself and smiled. "I've been here several times before, though I often leave as quickly as I come. I was hoping this time I could enjoy my stay longer."

Priscilla's smile was almost too perfect. She seemed almost unreal. From stoic, unbecoming statue of a being, to frightened and now open, smiling beauty?

"I've never taken the time to meet anyone here in Radiant Garden, if you hadn't walked up just now, I'd probably kept that along. Would you mind talking for a while?" Priscilla now, though a tender and caressing voice, had an underlying resonance to her voice that felt like a gentle command to do as she said. "I'm Priscilla."

The command worked, but Tifa didn't mind much. She willing sat down near the woman. The woman was...different, somehow. She couldn't put her finger on it.. "I don't mind at all. It's nice to meet you, Priscilla. I'm Tifa," she replied with a smile. "You really should take the time to get to know some of the other Radiant Garden inhabitants. They are all lovely people..."

Tifa never had any problems with indulging people by spending time with them. She knew many were lonely, so why not brighten up their days as much as she could? It was the least she could do. Spreading a little of her light around would help everyone, though it was up to them whether they'd accept it.

The brunet couldn't help but wonder...where was this woman from? She'd never met anyone like Priscilla. She was so...calculated, yet unpredictable. Something about her seemed unrealistic.

"We may not have a lot around here due to rebuilding, but for the moment there's a little tea shop nearby run out of an unused market space. It's there only until I build and open my 7th Heaven, but it does have some really good hot tea," she chuckled.

"Your 7th Heaven? I think I've heard of that before. Where was it....somewhere called Midgar? But then...what are you, I'm sorry. I'm prying." Priscilla's expression was clear, she felt embarrassed at how she'd asked something like she knew Tifa well.

"I must admit Tifa, I have heard of you before. Cloud, Leon, Yuffie...of course, but many people don't know what to make of you. I was interested in meeting you, but never thought I actually would."

Priscilla's face went from expression and emotion all at once, the different ones were obvious, but the transitions were so quick one would think she was feeling all of them at once.

((Generally, I don't mix FF histories with KH canon ones, but I'll humor you with this one. If the character was in KH, I only put what we know from Kh in the history. But as far as I'm concerned...Midgar? XDD ))

Tifa wasn't bothered at all by her "prying". She didn't mind talking about herself. She had nothing to hide. She was pretty open with mostly anything. Just the way of the Tifa. "What am I doing here? Well, Midgar is gone...and I followed Cloud here. I liked it,so I decided to stay and help out the Radant Garden Restoration Committee. Rebuilding 7th Heaven is a dream I have for this place," the information she assumed the woman wanted was given freely, and with a smile.

The smile shifted to surprise.

"..you've heard of me? Wow, I didn't expect that... what do they mean when they say they don't know what to make of me?" Tifa was intrigued. She was in no way a vain woman, but the aspect of people knowing of her and actually taking the time to...talk about her was slightly astonishing. It was just human to want to know what others think of you.

Priscilla's eyes showed surprise. "Wait, Midgar actually existed....but...I thought it as legend. I don't mean I thought you lied, it's just so fabled...I'm sorry." Her head drooped low, Priscilla brought it back up a moment later.

"Yes, people do know about you. You're a friend of Cloud, Leon,...well, who doesn't know of you all? It's just that they see them all of the time. A lot of the females are interested, if you can understand." Priscilla laughed at the end, it was true. Though for herself it was a bit of a shame, she might eventually like Tifa. "I've heard you all are helping rebuild here, this place...a long time ago. Did you see it then?"

"Did I see it in all it's glory? No, sadly I only know it as the crumbled ruins. But this is Leon and everyone's original home. Helping them out is my new mission. They worked so hard to get it back.." she sighed, remembering the stories and such they'd told her. It was a heartbreaking story..though, it seemed everyone had one of those in their past these days. this one just really touched her. "I heard it was so beautiful...I can't wait to see it look like that again, with the addition to my own small touches," Tifa smiled, once more referring to her 7th Heaven.

Looking over at Priscilla, she wondered if the woman had somehow seen Radiant Garden in its first and most breath-taking splendor.

"We're making progress. The heartless complicate things sometimes, as do some of the more...questionable travelers who seem to like mounting attacks on this world or setting up base here. It's lucky we're all strong enough to defend it. It'd crush everyone if they lost their home again.."

"Surely you'll be fine. You've held out this long, what could come along now?" Priscilla meant her words. "Are Cloud and Leon always around? Everyone believes in them, but Tifa, you're capable. Just now, you're committed to this world. That's all I'd want to hear from my protector."

Priscilla stood, then turned to Tifa. "Even if people don't voice it, someone like you is an inspiration for many others. Don't forget that."

"Cloud and Leon? They're around...Leon more than Cloud. Cloud comes and goes..but I think that may just be his nature. Coming or going..he rarely tells us." she chuckled, reflecting on her blond friend. What a troublesome man he could be. Hard to follow, too. Tifa found herself a bit relieved she no longer felt compelled to try and keep track of him, though that made her feel a tinge of guilt..

Priscilla's words continued to surprise the light-hearted woman. "An inspiration, huh? I don't know about 'for many others', but there's one little girl I think agrees with you," smiled Tifa, thinking fondly of Marlene. Sweet girl.

Priscilla was about to respond, then turned her head as if someone else was calling her. "I'm sorry Tifa, something has just come up. It was a pleasure to meet you. Hopefully I can return soon." She smiled and turned away, walking off to leave the world. Precisely what had come up Priscilla was not going to say. It pained her to leave all of sudden, but the calling she felt was not something she could ignore at all. Should she ignore it, the calling could even get worse to the point of physical pain.
