Origin
Selia is native of Traverse Town. Before her birth, her parents were so so lucky to be able to escape the destruction of a far away world called 'Earth' and were never able to return there. However, they settled in Traverse Town quite well, to the point the often helped other refuges.

Appearance
Physical Features: When someone looks at Selia for the first time (or the second, for that matter), 'beautiful' is surely not a term that comes into his is head. This rather short young woman -her height barely reaches the average- is a bit too 'bony' for her age, and surely not for her own volition. Added to a natural light-tan skin, that doesn't intensify much with the sun, it makes her look somewhat ill, like she should stay in bed instead that outside.
Facial Features: Selia face has ordinary traits, with high cheekbones and a small nose ridden with few freckles when the weather is exceptionally sunny. She has brilliant green eyes, not innocent-wide, but neither small. They lack of the mischievous gleam that many girls her age bear, though their are very attentive and give the impression she's always starting hard at something. The only remarkable point of her look are her hair, shiny black and soft, indeed, their owner treats them with great care, as she likes them very much.
Clothing: Pragmatic to the bone, Selia prefers comfortable clothes above everything else, no matter if they are skirts, jeans or gowns. The colour isn't that important, but green, blue or gray is better and though she says she doesn't care, you wouldn't be able to find a single red, yellow or brown piece of clothing in her wardrobe. For the same reason, she hates with a passion heeled-shoes, as she hurt her ankle a few times with them, once so bad that she had to stay in bed and rest it for a week before being able to walk again.
Miscellaneous Items/Articles: Jewelry is a nice thing to look at, but rather an hassle to wear, as you always have to keep an eye out for it, especially if its precious. For a sort of unspoken compromise with her mother, however, she adapted to wear one of the presents from her tenth birthday: a necklace formed by a plain string with a green, flower-shaped pendant. Cute, but of no value whatsoever, should she lose it somewhere.
She values her watch, instead, a nice, thin thing with funnily written numbers. It was a birthday gift. and was able to survive on wrist for five years. Not bad, isn't it?
Character Personality
Resolve: Usually, Selia wants above all to have control of situations, including simple chats. She feels uncomfortable when others are talking of things she doesn't know, as if she fears they are making fun of her. She usually set herself any other goal only once she finds something that's worth achieving, doing everything to reach it, like that pet rabbit when she was five, when she actually paid one of her friends (the rabbit's owner's little brother) to have him steal it.
Pursuit: To be always to be a step ahead of others, both in material and moral things.
Fears: Selia is afraid of the uncertainty death, solitude, the deep silence that tells nobody' is around at night and... her own nightmares after she see an horror movie late at night (pretty dumb, okay, but they are good).
Hopes: Selia would like to find the world her parents lost. She only wants to see it at least once, though, as she doesn't want to establish there: she likes her town and her current life as they are, most of the tome, at least.
Hobbies: When she has nothing to do, she usually reads or watches movies, though they aren't that much of an hobby. On the other hand, why waste money of coins or stamps, that can be only looked at from a distance? besides, with her budget, she cannot surely afford the really precious ones...
Public/Private Personality: Her most remarkable merit is common sense, she isn't a genius in what she does, nor she has a particular brilliant school career behind her, but she knew when to push thing and when not, and when it is better to get away, even if it's necessary to swallow pride.
Selia can be quite fun when she wants to, and has a good amount of auto-irony. She lacks of self confidence when regarding her look, and isn't one who likes too much being noticed, but she would do everything to reach a goal she set for herself, and when I say everything, I mean it. She isn't an aggressive person though, on the contrary, she prefers to 'stay in the shadows', letting other people do most of the work and limiting to defend herself and the most treasured ones in cases of danger.
One the other side, she has a superior attitude that often drives away people, even if she doesn't mind it at all. She usually doesn't follow prejudices, but once formed an opinion on someone, be it good or bad, she sticks to it and is very difficult to make her change idea.

Weapon Name: False Ebony Staff
Weapon Description: A thin staff of a black, shiny colour. When the tip is posed against the ground it reaches Selia's lower torso.
Unique Notes: Selia isn't sure from where this thing comes: she found it in one of the wardrobes in her house and her parents couldn't recall where they've found it. She suspects the shop where those three small talking ducks live. Maybe a forgotten gift for someone?

Selia has a good confidence with magic and she can pull out curious tricks trough the manipulation of the the air and/or light around her to create illusions or sounds and the motion of objects.
[This ability is still limited by the small experience, so it takes much concentration to execute even the simplest of tricks. Selia's currently able to: move small, light objects along a plain surface, like a table]
Animal House
Selia can take control of the minds of some animals and have them do whatever she wants, in the limits of their natural capabilities, of course.
[With her limited experience, for now, she can do this only with one animal at time, and it's very difficult to succeed with the more intelligent species as they tend fight the 'intrusion' with all their strength. It currently works with: insects, small fishes and birds, rodents]
Amplification
Selia can amplify the feelings of those around her, making them happier, for example, or more scared so that they can choose to escape or overconfident to make them lover their guards.
[Currently works only if Selia can perceive the other's emotion by normal means, like facial expressions or general attitude and thus it may not work if the opponent is faking. The grade of the amplification is also quite low, working at the best only with very strong emotions.]

Selia's childhood was pretty much common. She was born in the quaint Traverse Town, and her parents had a good work, her mother being employed in one of the city shops and her father being a lawyer and, when the worlds were still crumpling down, a guide for the refugees. Therefore, she had been one of the many girls around, and had a wide range of acquaintances and friend.
Her parents came from one of the very first worlds destroyed by the heartless, when Selia was so small she doesn't remember any of the happenings. She had never liked liked the situation at all and was always worried about what people thought about them, and if they pitied them, until she grew up enough to understand that they were for the most part all in the same boat. She settled with her new lifestyle and learned to mind her own business before other people's one.
In that period, she turned her attention to magic, as her mother had a few old books received by her ancestors and saved from the disaster, who, in the past, had been a line of famous sorcerers and sorceresses. Selia had talent for the thing (even if her power is small, considering her blood is diluted by generations of crosses with regular humans), therefore her mother had always encouraged her on that path.
The strange thing was that, the more she trained and gained confidence with her powers, the more she grew uneasy and jumpy: she felt observed, stalked, especially during evenings when the shadows grew darker and larger.
She kept ready to spot who could possibly be haunting her and one evening, she was sure she had seen something black with shiny eyes lurk in an alley behind her. Half terrified - half determined to make that situation stop, she went after it...
