Origin: The World Aloeva: There were world out among the stars, worlds of unimaginable wonders and horrors, filled with heart pumping adrenalin action. There were worlds of less life threatening excitement, with magic performed on street corners and the strange and terrible adventure just a day away for all adventurous teens. Bailee’s world lacked all that and more. Nature was confined to parks, and excitement to old stories. Wonder and awe was a thing of the past and danger was not tolerated. It was a safe place, boring to those looking in, but just right for those who had never known anything else. Bailee was born and grew up in a world dominated by medium sized towns and cities. While there had once been magic and adventure among the world’s citizens, all those talents had been stifled for centuries through first an annihilation of need, then of training, then of knowledge as the people forgot that anyone had ever possessed those out of the ordinary gifts. The magic in the world grew weaker and weaker, and the light in the people’s hearts grew dimmer and dimmer until the heart of their world pulsed dimly as an abysmal shade of worn grey.

History: Bailee grew up a typical citizen of her world: a practical embodiment of its dimmed light and unrealized potential. Then, one early morning, there was a change. Of course there was a change, otherwise this story would have been incredibly boring. The heart of her world had been previously overlooked by the heartless in favor of much more attractive, powerful neighboring worlds. Its luck had ran out. Invaded by heartless swarms (whose numbers had skyrocketed after the destruction of The World That Never Was, unfortunate to say), Bailee ran in panic from her house followed by several black shadows, their shinning eyes and sharp claws having interrupted her morning routine. This is when Bailee got her first glimpse of her abilities, though albeit a blurred and panicked look at best. Driven by her fear and hounded by the heartless she tripped over a fallen branch near her house and fell through a tear in space to another world, thus evading not only the heartless but the destruction of her infested world.
Shocked and panicked, Bailee had stumbled (quite literally) into an alleyway in Twilight Town. There, she was taken into the home of an elderly couple and cared for, calmed by a warm bed and kind words. Unfortunately, while taking a walk around town a week later she tripped again and fell into Traverse Town, thus ending her short yet sweet period of relative safety.
Terrified and very confused (she hadn’t the foggiest idea what was going on, and didn’t really like to think about it), she met two similarly traveling teens Selia and Hayai at an ongoing party. Banding together they left for some reluctant adventuring. Ferociously attacked at Beast’s Castle, Bailee came to know of her natural armoring effect. Also, that dropping rocks on heartless is an effective means of offense. While fleeing the heartless and exploring deeper within the castle, Bailee nearly fell through a dimensional rip in a wall. From then on, she became very sensitive to all portals and dimensional anomalies, which caused her more distress at the time rather than euphoria. Making the safe room with the dimensional rip their home base, Hayai made a quick foray into the Castle’s depths and procured Bailee a substitute for her weapon wielded rock. Equipped with a glaive she didn’t know how to use in a world filled with heartless, they pressed forward after a long nap to the kitchen for a meal. Fighting through the heartless hoards did Bailee some good, and she gained the confidence to defend herself against at least the smallest of heartless without much incident or panic.
Once stocked up on food, they passed through the rip only to enter the Pride Lands on top of a waterfall with a stunning view. Much to their surprise, they all had become animals. It was a bit too much for Bailee, who had taken the form of an ostrich, to find herself next to a tiger cub and she fled. Calming her down was an amusing job for Hayai (the tiger), and when they came to the desert at the edge of the jungle their journey stopped and went no further. There the encountered a new type of ferocious heartless and in the name of ‘toughening her up’, Hayai let Bailee take on one by herself. Hounded by a literal monkey on her back, she fled back into the forest, only managing to dislodge the attacker using low hanging branches. Stopping to rest, they met up again with Selia whom they had parted from awhile ago. They got into a discussion about portals, which lead to the next of Bailee’s discoveries: that she could create portals of her own. Imitating a portal of light they had passed through earlier in their journey from Traverse Town, she opened up a new way out for herself and her friends. Feeling more confident in herself and her abilities, they traveled forward into the unknown only to separate down different paths.
Coming out alone in yet another Deep Jungle, Bailee wandered the undergrowth fending off heartless and the like in an increased state of panic until finally, she snapped and lost what little sanity she had left. Paranoid and subject of vivid hallucinations, Bailee fled the Jungle through another portal to world after world searching for her home. Convinced that she had been dreaming the whole time, her new nonchalance when it came to reality was actually a boon. Unable to fear what she refused to believe was real, Bailee found herself surviving on her own without other people around for protection. Robed of her doubts about whether her powers were real or what was about to happen to her, her confidence grew with her proficiency in her abilities. Eventually her careless abandoned came to an end when she suffered a serious wound to her left arm inflicted by a rather powerful mid sized heartless. Managing to open a portal back to Twilight Town, she was saved from her injury, dehydration, and blood loss by good samaritans and nursed until well. During her time bedridden, Bailee gave much thought as to her adventures and life thus far. While she reached no great epiphany by heroic standards, she did come to realize that her powers gave her to ability to in fact look after her self.
Having seen that heartless could reach a power level that she couldn't face on her own, Bailee (now aware of all her abilities) put much thought into how she might use them to keep herself out of harm's way. This was a big step for Bailee, for it changed the way she viewed herself and how she related to the world. Knowing that she was not cut out for conflict, as it had become obvious to her during her delusional adventures, Bailee realized that her best course of action was to avoid the fights all together. Still preferring to travel with someone she knew could protect her, her morals had none the less inadvertently taken a turn for the worse. She now knew she could cut and run when things got bad, and that as long as she only looked out for herself in such situations, she could pull through. Thus begins her newly evolved parasitic relationship with other people. For while before she had clung to who ever was nearest and looked for guidance she had done so naively, and out of gratitude and fear never would have left a friend alone. Now aware that using someone else for protection only had it's benefits for so long, Bailee's naturally selfish nature had come into it's own and now more actively drove her decisions.
Leaving Twilight Town upon her recovery, Bailee sought a permanent solution to the issue of her safety. No place she had encountered had ever proven to be truly safe, and nagged by the compulsion to find one her adventuring was driven. Hearing of a party after several days of procrastinating on beginning her journey, she departed to Destiny Islands.

I understand that portals are supposed to be a duh ability outside of combat, but the idea behind Bailee's ability to detect and make portals is so ingrained into her character I didn't want to have to rewrite her entire series of past adventures on the forum, so I mentioned it as part of her actual useful ability. Which is to use a portal to escape battle, with the result of having to quit the thread. I know that portals aren't supposed to be used in battle, but I assume that that's to prevent god modish use of portals as if they were teleportation. Obviously this would result in people appearing suddenly behind a victim and delivering a blow they can't dodge. I want Bailee to have the chance to use a portal as an escape mechanism for her and others from battle. Bailee's abilities are all centered around her keeping out of harm's way. Hide and Seek keeps her away from trouble should it look for her, Armor keeps her from getting killed when she does encounter enemies, and Portal allows her the chance to escape when she can't handle a battle. Which is always, because Bailee has no offensive maneuvers. Bailee is entirely defensive.

Appearance:
Physical Features: Bailee is 5 feet 6 inches tall, though she tends to move in on herself and look to be an inch or two shorter. A pale indoorsy type teen, Bailee has never been inclined to participate in sports. Not possessing any musculature of note, Bailee is un–athletic in general. Not built for speed or power Bailee is incapable of laying a smack down on anyone, though she is capable of taking said beating fairly well. Possessed of a normal feminine frame her small wrists and tiny hands contrast with her strong jaw, as if her looks might have been intimidating had she only not been so petite. Bailee has a scar on her left arm after suffering an injury from a heartless she took on while in a dellusioned state. Other than that all of her other small wounds heal without scarring.
Facial Features: Her light brown hair falls to her shoulders and is ragged enough to give it a frayed appearance rather than a classy one. Her lips are usually cracked from her habitual nervous biting, and her face is usually set in a slightly worried, solemn expression. Her eyes are steady grey green, well suited to a face often confused and concerned. However well their doleful worried look might suit them, the underlying green color suggests that should any sort of courage or resolve ever show itself that her eyes might portray that look better than eyes lacking such practice should.
Clothing: Not being a very flashy person, Bailee wears a pair of dull brown colored cargo pants (in which she carries all her small items), a green t-shirt, and a grey hoodie normally tied at the waist. Her sneakers are the lace up kind and colored a navy blue. Coincidently, her shoes go well with her t-shirt and together are the only catchy colors in her appearance. Really, there’s not much about Bailee’s outfit to catch the eye, with only it’s functionality of note.
Miscellaneous Items/Articles: 3 energy bars, a bar of chocolate, a green apple, and some munny. Her total items are essentially what she's managed to fit in her cargo pants.
Personality:
Resolve: A slightly awkward and ungraceful person, Bailee has done her best throughout her life to fit in. The world in which she lived was safe and without challenges, and so never finding reason to push herself she has drifted through life as a quiet observer. When given little direction she comes more into her own and beings to think for herself, but any will of her own can easily be over ridden by a strong personality near her. Never faced with moral dilemmas, and only possessing a weak heart, Bailee is very impressionable. While her adventures with kind hearted heroes have lead her down the path of good, she can still quickly be corrupted by a glib tongue and a dark heart. Essentially selfish, Bailee has no qualms looking out for herself above others. Not that she is cold hearted, but when it comes down to her or them, Bailee knows who she's picking.
Pursuit: Safety. Bailee wants nothing more than to be out of harm's way. Anything that looks as though it will help her achieve this, Bailee will seek. She holds the belief that being near other people bring her safety, even though that is often not the case. Having recently discovered the extent of her powers, Bailee now knows that she herself can provide her own safety in certain circumstances. This has caused her to shift to a loner personality, though she seeks to utilize the safety being with others brings her at any given opportunity. She has yet to lean that no place is truly safe.
Fears: Bailee is quite a follower, with no wish to ever be in a leadership position. Being left alone had long been her worse fear, and she faced daunting castles and deadly heartless to stay with the nearest person who showed any interest in her. This overwhelming panic at being left alone was her sole source of courage, and through it she overcame many of her other more common place fears, such as injury, death, and the dark. The fears she faces out among the rest of the worlds are more often than not ones she herself has trapped herself in instead of ones she has stumbled across. Recently, however, Bailee has discovered that sometimes it is in her best interests to be alone. When such a time comes, Bailee has the capability to cut all ties and hoof it, for at least a little while. Common sense rarely holds sway over her various fears.
Hopes: A dull unimaginative person without strong convictions, Bailee's hopes and dreams don't meet Hallmark quality requirements. Currently, all she hopes for is to find some person to follow around who she can rely on to help keep her safe. While she has come more into her own over the course of her adventuring, she has disliked every minute of it and greatly desires to return to a time when she had no worries. Once she reaches her goal of finding a permanent safe area, her only other ambition is to stay there.
Hobbies: Not an interesting or creative person, Bailee never found a hobby to pour herself into. Rather, she spent much of her time idle. Content to simply watch the clouds pass without a thought as to their shapes, or what lay beyond them.
Public Personality/Private Personality: Shy and unsure of herself, Bailee is only semi-knowledgeable of the workings of the Kingdom Hearts universe. Having leaned about heartless and keyblades, as well as how to traverse between the worlds, the shock of other cultures and the concept of magic has worn off. Un-extraordinary in appearance and in heart, she has only managed to keep herself alive thus far through friends, luck, and her gifts. To the world she is quiet and a bit curious, gladly agreeing with and being influenced by whomever she is following at the time. Her experiences traveling to other worlds has left her much more accepting of new ideas, so she lacks any great amount of skepticism when presented with new concepts and information. Her new stance that anything is potentially possible leaves her open to be easily lied to. Her morals are not firmly established after a lifetime of living a non-challenging complacent lifestyle. The new challenges she faces are causing her to, for the first time, develop strong opinions on matters including as morals. Influenced heavily by whoever is around at the time, her morals can be swayed in either direction.
Bailee, as a gullible naive person who isn't known for possessing the sharpest of wits, is as you can imagine quite shallow. Her insecurities and fears she wears on her sleeves, and she hasn't the foresight to hide her lack of knowledge. The only hidden and potentially devious part of her nature is her newfound method of self preservation. That is to say, having realized that refusing to break off a connection with another person she's traveling with simply out of fear when it looks like things are getting rough can be dangerous, she has begun to objectively view those she meets only as sources of information and protection. This selfish objectification of other people, while good for her own preservation, is not a good shift in her morals. Having become better at outrightly lying when she has need, you could say that in this case her naivety has been stripped away as she has seen some of the what darker sides of the worlds posses.

Weapons:
Weapon Name: Glaive
Weapon Description: A glaive Bailee found while on previous adventures with Hayai in Beast’s Castle. It is a 5 foot long wooden pole with a 6 inch blade attached to the end. It can be used for stabbing, slicing, dicing, and cleaning dragon teeth. However, since Bailee would never ever go near a dragon, the last use is moot. Not much of a fighter, Bailee uses the glaive more as a walking stick or for holding enemies at bay rather than an offensive weapon.
Unique Notes: The glaive replaced Bailee’s previous weapon, a rock she found once, and is an obvious upgrade. The weapon was taken from the armory in Beast’s Castle (without the Beast’s permission, I might add) during Bailee’s first death defying, hair raising adventure cowering in a safe room while someone else went and found her a weapon. While not trained or skilled, after a while using the glaive Bailee has grown proficient in using her weapon as a means of primitive offense and defense that far exceeds the use of her flailing arms or a heavy rock.
Abilities:
Base Ability: Isolation
Sub Abilities:
Hide and Go Seek: Not the most athletic of children, Bailee none the less excelled at one game: Hide and Go Seek. Unbeknownst to her, she had received this and other talents from her great grandpa who during his hay day though of himself as a magician. While he never successfully performed a single bit of magic, he still managed to pass along his other untapped gifts to his great grand daughter. This particular bit of magic? It takes form in her ability remain undetectable. Any normal person intentionally searching for her will immediately discover they have a much harder time finding her as soon as they begin trying. Anyone with extrasensory perception will find that this stems from the fact that she’s impossible to sense. Her spirit can’t be sensed, her heart can’t be heard or felt, aura can't be felt, mind can't be read, nor can she be detected through any other various supernatural means. Only through a person's natural good old fashioned five senses can she be detected. If she's not within sight or hearing distance, it's like she doesn't exist. Her ability keeps heartless and nobodies from detecting her, unless she is within their sight. A handy ability for someone terrified of such beings and lacking in offense.
Supernatural Armor: Another gift from dead old gramps, is her natural armoring ability. Her natural armor kept Bailee's childhood free of any broken bones or serious scrapes. Detectable by magic, if rendered visible through some special power or through the brief illumination brought on by a blow, it appears to be a metallic grey blue green sheen protecting Bailee's entire body. It’s very easy for others to see exactly when it flickers out after a blow. The armor, naturally in place at all times (can't be dispelled), acts to absorb all types of physical and magical damage taken to a non lethal blow strength Bailee's frail human body can bear. While up, all blows that would normally result in death or severe injury are reduced in severity to scrapes and bruises. It can only hold up to 4-6 potentially damaging blows (depending on their strength) before the shield breaks. Consecutive chain attacks are treated as one long attack, but count as 2 blows. Light grazing blows such as slaps and rain are ignored by the shield. If a blow is more than it can bear (the last one it can take), the armor reduces the damage dealt as much as possible and then breaks. High falls, scalding pots, hoards of heartless: this natural armor has served her well in the past. While the damage is reduced, the pain is still mostly felt, but only for a second or two until the body realizes it's in no danger. Though only recently aware of its existence, it has grown in strength since her youth on her harmless home world. If broken it will remain absent for three posts or twenty minutes and then once again cushion Bailee's squishy human body.
Portal Opportunist: Exactly what it sounds like, Bailee has the troublesome talent of finding and manipulating left open portals and rips in the fabric of the universe. She is naturally drawn to them and while this has lead to many unexpected trips in the past, she has finally gotten the hang of (for the most part) sensing where portals and rips appear and not falling into them. Her range of sensing extends across an entire small world, and portals in close proximity tend to induce a physical reaction. Ironically enough, her ability works best when she’s panicked and under pressure. A expert when it comes to portals, she can pour energy into keeping open closing portals and can trace the path of a portal and tell where the other end connects. After many many trips through various portals of all sizes and shapes, she has finally managed to figure out how to create all basic different types of dark and light portals Usable in battle only once as a permanent means of escape from the thread to another world, she can bring people with her through her portals.
