Name: Angela B. Carver
Alias: BB, Bluebird
Age: 18, almost 19 years old
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Alignment: Neutral
Origin: Angela is originally from the world adjacent to The 100 Acre Woods, but has set up a 2nd residence within the woods.
-----------------------
.characteristic.depth.
-----------------------
Appearance:
Physical Features: Slightly taller than average at around 5’ 9”. She’s also slightly overweight for her height, but she carries it well through her chest and hips. One might even be bold enough to tell her she has a pot belly, but Angela would laugh it off. (Never trust a skinny chef, right? Right.) Walks and fishing excursions in the clear, sunny skies of her world have left her with a warm year-long tan and constant, albeit mild, sunburn. Her feet are large and calloused- too many barefoot walks on rocky terrain.
Her pride and joy is her well-kept afro extending in a bushy mane all around her face. It’s dark brown, curly and thick. Sometimes she decorates it with flowers or uses it to hide small objects (like a pen or pencil to take notes on a new ingredient or recipe). While she is cooking the hair is usually covered by a bucket hat or bandanna to keep hair out of the food and food out of the hair.
Facial Features: She has a rounded face with a slightly more pointed chin and well defined jaw bone. Heavy, sleepy eyelids hide hazel- colored eyes. Her eyes are almost always darting around in her head, trying to examine everything around her at once. Her skin is tan, a result of sun and being bi-racial (black father and a white mother), but she is almost always more red and sun burnt under her eyes from sun exposure. Her nose is broader with large nostrils and her large lips frame a wide smile or sneaky smirk. Both her smile and perpetually red cheeks suggest her jolly nature. Both ears have a neat row of piercings, which hold her fishing hooks and occasionally a lure or two.
Clothing: If she wears closed toe shoes, she is probably working in Pascal’s kitchen. Otherwise she is barefoot, but usually carries a pair of cheaply made sandals along with her. Her jeans have been torn and patched over and over again. She patches them herself, using worn remnants of her other pieces of clothing. She sometimes rolls the cuffs around her ankles to keep them from ripping apart more than they already are. She prefers to wear simple tops- t-shirts and tanks, but in bright colors such as yellow and red. Her hands are covered by driving gloves, black with the fingers cut off. At night or when it’s chilly, she covers up with her well-worn brown bomber’s jacket, also heavily patched.
When exploring The 100 Acre Woods or anywhere else, she carries along a journal with a strap and heavy knapsack. The journal is for taking notes on the various flora and fauna she encounters and brainstorming possible recipe ideas. The knapsack holds a basic cooking set- flint and tinder, pots and pans and her knife set. Also, a collapsible fishing pole.
When stuck in her home universe, she wears a school uniform consisting of a white blouse and black skirt. She usually keeps her bomber jacket tied around her waist.
Miscellaneous Items/Articles: Over her right breast she has a home-made tattoo of a treble hook.
Personality:
Resolve:
Angela wants to be balanced. At this point in her life, she lacks a distinct purpose. She puts a lot of stock into her love of cooking, but wants to see what else is out there for her. And when she finds that something- she wants to be the best at it.
Pursuit: She’s going to prove her teachers and Chef Pascal wrong and make something of herself.
Fears: Failure. Angela holds on to her past mistakes for too long and when left alone to mull things over can drive herself mad over the “what-ifs” of any scenario. She wants to be the best, but can’t take competition.
Hopes: Angela would like to be well-known for her successes in life and possibly own a restaurant more popular than the one she currently works at. (Just to rub it in Pascal’s face.)
Hobbies: Fishing became a form of meditation through most of school. Then when she learned how to cook the fish, she became obsessed with the variety of ingredients and flavors involved in cooking.
Public Personality/Private Personality:
If you looked her over in a large gathering, you might thing she was tough and intimidating- with the piercings and tattoo. In fact, she often uses this to her advantage to force smaller students to do her work for her.
However, Angela will probably be the first person at any party to come over and introduce herself to you, regardless of your appearance. She speaks with confidence and is both polite and well-spoken. However, she sometimes begins to ramble due to her obsession with soufflé baking methods (and other heavy cooking jargon) and her need to fill uncomfortable silences with noise.
If she asks you to come along with her to fish, you’ve established a pretty close bond. She begins to become more comfortable with silence and funnily enough- is a wonderful listener. Just don’t get her started on sashimi recipes or you’ll never shut her up again.
Once you’ve become good friends, she finds it her duty to make sure you are happy before she becomes relaxed. Some people choose to abuse this, while others simply worry that she puts too much pressure on herself to do everything right all at once.

Boarding school got awful boring about two days after my parents left me there. Bitter? No, no- I love my parents. My mom didn’t want her little Bluebird to be sad all on her own at school. Bluebird is a nickname I was given because of how happy I always seem to be and how happy I try to make others. A bluebird of happiness.
it’s my fault I’m at this dreary institution anyhow. I used to have an obsession with being the best and going to the best school and getting the best grades.
But then I realized that every other kid here wanted the same things and they weren’t afraid to fight tooth and nail for them. I couldn’t take it- they crushed me.
Now all I care about are the best food, the best drink and the best of times. Maybe I’m slipping. My parents, Jack and Robin Carver, are probably a bit upset at all of the money they’re wasting for me to go to boarding school here at Jackson Academy. Oh wait- they don’t know I haven’t been attending classes yet. Amazingly I still seem to pass with the bare minimum of effort.
But you see- in my room here at the boarding school I found this ancient looking old door in my closet. It was covered in a layer of grime and dust and I figured it must have been some old additional crawlspace. But it wasn’t. It was an entry way to my new way of living. Where I simply wander around the woods, fish and cook all day long. The animal inhabitants there call it The 100 Acre Woods. I call it Angela’s Heaven.
Can you blame me for wanting to ditch my crappy classes and shitty internship with Chef Pascal at the Café? I mean- my dishwashing job? As if Chef Pascal even knows what he is talking about… he’s a deflated old man whose only joy in life is to make me miserable. I have to go to the woods almost every day now to cook and fish and relax. I’ve stopped going to my classes and just go out to the woods instead. When I come back, I can usually manage to pull my way through the daily homework assignments. If not, I intimidate some smaller kid to do it for me. They usually take my home-made piercings to be a sign of my “rebellious nature”. In this school though- wearing a slightly grey skirt could be considered anarchy.
I need to get out of here., but I’m still to afraid to just up move to the woods. What if I’m left behind here? Forgotten?
I’ve set up a temporary home near the middle of the forest. A tree house. Maybe if you get a chance you can come and visit me sometime. I’ll make you dinner.
