Rp Week!

I was looking around the site the other day, just because I was bored and nobody was willing to rp at the time, and I realized something.

Rp Week.

It was no longer happening.

Could we bring this back? Personally I'd like to see it make a comeback, partly because of the fact it was a way to earn Munny really fast, the other reason why was because well, it was fun seeing who could get the most posts each week.

So who's with me?

That was the problem.

People used it to get a lot of munny without really making anything but silly posts.

Then they neglected the actual RP boards, etc.

I see another part of the problem cost-benefit. If you have to use 100+ small RP posts to get some item you wanted, wait to get it, wait to get someone away from that board, and then start and hope the RP continues...if you're not thinking that way you're not being realistic and fooling yourself.

Of course if you're not using that board to get munny during RP week, well I'm not sure what's going on then.

Can I get a clear definition on RP Week? What is it?

It could be changed. After all, in there the word count is 150, so it's not like they can post one liners. And by it could be changed, make it two weeks a month, or even once a month.

You know. RP week was like...legitimized spam. XD I didn't really like it when Avenger put it up, so it's not been used since he left.

You see, Rocket. RP week is like one week where people speed post [like serious speed posting, not the wimpy speed posting in the board where people wait a few days before they get a short post] with like...one to three sentences per post and compete to see who can have the most RP week post by the end of the week. The winner gets a munny prize.

While I say I don't like it, I don't see why we can't start it up again. It is a fun way to get a quick and fast thread. There are specific rules [which usually aren't followed...] and people can get munny. FAST.

The problem I had with it is people wait for RP week only and hardly did any real RPing. It was what happened back then, when you click the recent post button on the bottom, all you see was RP week posts. No quality posts. And soon, the whole site died when Avenger stopped putting up RP week again. I don't want this to happen to FM again. >_>

So I might do away with RP Week once and for all if I don't get strong objections.

I like this idea, not the winning of money but just a week where you continuously post one after another without having to really come up with a long post. It's like how I used to rp back in the old days as a n00b.

Thing is, Night, that's exactly what a speed RP is. It's just that no one really follows that rule. Speed RPs are never meant to be as long as the ones in the board. :\ They're all really BAD examples of speed RP, to be honest. [except for a few...]

So really, I don't see why we need an RP week when we already have the speed RP board.

I think its for the purpose of winning some kind of contest. I've been told that the prize last time was the ability to wield a Keyblade.

I support removing it entirely. We don't use it, and we really don't need it.

Prize most likely would be just munny. No way would they give a keyblade for FM's best spammer. XD

Uh guys..I think the prize last time actually was winning a Keyblade. XD I remember us giving it out. >>

And it wasn't spam, it was an attempt to revive a dead forum. RP week was meant to stealthily trick everyone into RPing with each other without it being some non-functioning forum-wide plot. Before, no one made any effort to try and RP with someone new and get their characters to meet other characters, which is a good way to make impromptu personal plots flourish. Sometimes a "pointless" thread is how the best RPs start, unplanned goodness. Like I said, it was all a ploy, and I remember whoever won did get a Keyblade. It was all for the fun of the contest... the downside was that though it was Avenger's and the staff's best efforts to get activity up, people didn't follow the speed RP rules and some of the threads dragged because people stopped posting or took too long.

It was fun, though.

We haven't used it because we haven't hosted another RP week contest. RPing is picking up on its own with personal plots, so I guess there was no "need" of it, you know?

So....RP Week is basically a tool to be used to keep the forum alive in times of extreme lack of activity. We cool FMers?

I realize the thread is pretty much dead but I'd just like to point out that whatever faction conquers Halloween and Christmas town get to prop up their own events. One of them could be an RP day (as opposed to an RP week). >w<

Right right, we'll move along now I suppose.
