Leo, covered in dust shook himself to get most of the dust off then sneezed also when dust slipped into his "nostrils". Then looking the wall straight in the eyes he said.
Leo, is my name, you wouldn't by any chance know where I could find a chainsaw would you, dood?

The (supposedly) hidden wall frowned, its large stone eyes drooping as it considered the question. In the back of its mind it was still a bit caught on by the fact that this wasn't Mistress Etna, but being part of a castle that had stood for millennia, it was getting on in its years and getting -gasp!- slow.
"Yes..." it said simply.
After a moment of intense pondering it added, helpfully:
"In the... basement."

Leo crossed his flippers and tapped his "foot"
I was hoping for a little more information, dood. Would the basement be behind you or somewhere else.... dood?

"Behind.... me....?"
The wall pondered.
"WHy.... YeS...." Being made of soot and brick and stone clearly hasn't done much good for whatever intelligence this creature has. Maybe you should make your intentions more specific?

Well this wasn't getting anywhere fast... lets try this again.
Could you open up so I can walk through... Dood?

"Before... you are allowed... you must answer me.... these questions three."
"What is your favorite col-"
The wall blinked. Squeezed its eyes shut. There was a moment of deathly silence as if it expected to be attacked and killed on the spot. By the parody police or some such.
"Color?"

... Leo was between a rock and hard place, he wasn't getting anywhere fast but he still patience and if anything he was amused if not dumbfounded by this wall's question.
Leo uncrossed his flippers and placed them on the side of his body, looked him straight in the eyes with his own and with a victorious tone, Blue... Dood.
There's no way he could get that wrong. But after saying that a thought just came to him... where did he that question before? Quiz, friend, former master, random snotty rich Brit-accented kid? Eh... didn't matter.

"I... forget the other... two... questions," the wall admitted slowly. His mouth, seemed to be getting bigger after each word he spoke, rapidly extending into a cavernous maw of stone and shadow. "And I... think you're... telling the... truth."
At the last word, his mouth had turned large enough to fit one large dog. Or one shot prinny. Pitch black darkness awaits you - you cannot see much beyond those gleaming, rocky teeth that edge the entrance to (what you presume is) the basement.
What shall you do?

Leo bow a little bit.
Thank you for letting me through dood.
So with that he walked through the wall's mouth and just stopped.
Wow it's dark in here... Cool, just like my former master's lab. *sniff* It brings a tear to my eye... Anyways on with the search. Chainsaw here I come.

You notice there are many spiders (the spiderwebs are sticky if a bit funny-tasting) but not much else as you blunder into the dark. Your flipper misses the first stair and you take quite a dive going down - luckily you're already dead and kind of soft and round or wow, that would have left a mark.
Once you hit the bottom, you roll straight into something that clattered and crumbles around you.
There's still no light.

Okay... that was fun and all but really, if I wanted to take a tumble I could've just jumped off a cliff to do that.
....
Okay now I'm dizzy, what's up?
....
Oh, there we go that's up... now lets see what did I just hit here?
Leo slowly starts feeling around to see what he knocked over, first in the immediate circle, then going outward in a spiral.

You feel around for the thing you hit - it's hard and definitely metallic. Your flippers find purchase and you realize it's some sort of bowl made of metal. It's a weird bowl - there are holes everywhere, and it's huge too - you could probably fit yourself in it.
Yeah, probably nothing.
The circle idea's good, but while it's big, the place is packed to the brim with stuff - hardly two rotations out and you've hit something else. This time, since you're moving more slowly, you don't fall down (or trip and hit it) and since it feels kind of sharp maybe it's a good thing you didn't trip and fall onto it.
You could really use some light.

Well that can't be good, but on the upside the more time I spend in the dark the more a chance I can "see" things. I wonder if I clap my flippers would lights come on? Eh maybe not...
Leo clapped his flippers together not expecting anything but just doing it because and goes back to feeling up the item he just knocked over.

At the clap of your flippers, a voice chimes from the darkness, it sounds surprisingly mild-mannered for a dark, deep basement in the bowels of an evil Castle in the middle of the Netherworld: "I'm afraid the automatic lights are not working right now. Please try again later."
For some reason, a blue screen flashes before your eyes before going away. You ignore this strangeness as merely another oddity of the place you find yourself in and go back to examining the item.
The item you found appears to be long and sharp - probably a blade - and as you run your flipper against it more carefully, it comes off a little grimy. Either it's the power of ancient dark magicks that have heavily enchanted the weapon to make it constantly weep blood, or it's because nobody's dusted in here for ages.

Well this castle is just full of surprises, it's nice to know that there's something nice down here. Although I can't say the same for this... blade.
Leo was sort-of tempted to sniff his flipper, but he thought against it. Instead, he just followed the length of it until he came upon the handle then just carried it with him as he continued to look through the dark.
You know, this blade reminds me of someone I know... what was the name again?
There was still a blank going across his mind... well not that it mattered right now. Sooner or later he was going to have to get his memories back.
