Pick which ones best describe your reasoning, then explain. You can choose as many options above as suit your interest in RPing.
Figured I'd toss this up here partly out of curiosity, partly to learn a bit more about my fellow FMers. What drew you to forum-based RPing? What makes you stay? Feel free to elaborate or share any relevant stories.

I'm shocked to see that 'fun' isn't categorized on there, unless hobby falls under that. I do this for fun and fun alone.

Hobby. My over tens years of doing this has shown me I do it as a hobby. Anything else and (strictly my opinion), I'd be fooling myself away from reality. And it's fun, but fun depends on a lot of stuff happening.

Hobby/Game, aye. I'm one of those kids who made "pew pew" noises as I imagined myself to be a mighty, but brooding dark hero who won all the ladies.

I'm the only No-Clue-kid here, haha. I picked "Don't Know" first, then decided to vote for the rest as well, since those also made up small pieces of it ^__^;
I... Have no idea why I Roleplay.
It's nice. That's why. Because it's nice.

I'm not really sure. It isnt one of those things you think about until you are asked, and then you arent sure. I voted no clue. I guess it is just the whole rp thing in general. It just seems right.

I'm shocked to see that 'fun' isn't categorized on there, unless hobby falls under that. I do this for fun and fun alone. Considering that a hobby is, by definition, something that you do for fun... yeah, in this case 'fun' falls under 'hobby'.

Fun can be a hobby?
Hmm, I think it started as I don't know, fell into hobby and maybe currently is a hobby and a way to improve.~

Many reasons, but the main reason is for fun.

Fun. Fun seems to be my main reason.
Here though, it's mainly because Prythian would do bad things to me if I tried to leave.
Not really though.

Passion and addiction aren't *quite* synonymous but I suppose it'll do in a pinch. ^^;

There's a buncha reasons. I haven't the faintest what attracted me to it at first (since writing was hardly a passion or a skill I had when I began.), but in the years I've been doing it, I've improved immensely. I was taking up huge chunks of free time learning just why my first few characters failed. Were it not for forums, I probably never woulda discovered TV Tropes, thus denying me the chance to be the story-savvy, incredibly handsome storyteller you see before you today. *Pose*

For myself personally it's a way to 1) Improve my writing 2) Improve my writing within a community 3) It's fun, super, super fun.
