The art of One Piece is...aesthetically unpleasing. XD

I heard the story is ok, but the art just totally puts me off.

Try Samurai Champloo!! Or Mushishi. Ophi got me hooked on that one. XD

xD That's the comment I always here from artists when it comes to One Piece.

Or rather, they mention rules of anatomy and One Piece regularly doing odd things with them. Using different words. Anywho:

One Piece is good but you have to give it a chance. The beginning can *seem* lame, but trust me, once you get into it it's pure win. I'm a bit iffy on the anime, but of what I've seen, it's not terrible. DO NOT WATCH THE DUBS. Unless you really want to laugh or cry.

Claymore: the anime was solid. I was a bit confused by the final fight scene and I skipped all over the place so, eh, my word probably isn't too great. The manga choked on its own world building at a certain point, but it's getting better so I'm guessing the author gave it Heimlich somewhere down the road. Still hoping it'll get back to the same point as it was prior to the winter battle ending.

Gintama: I've heard that, like One Piece, this needs some getting used to, but I don't really *like* the idea of science fiction meshed with Meiji-era samurai so.... I have no idea. It can't possibly beat magical pirates though.

FMA Brotherhood: If they're sticking with the storyline, it's pure win. A bit gritty, but win win win.

And... Gurren Lagann is... a pleasant reprieve. Even if it runs on stupid. xD

For one of the classic animes that's REALLY good but will make you horribly depressed I recommend Hotaru No Haka, Grave of the Fireflies. Subject matter isn't light or pleasant, but it's well executed. A movie and not a series though...

I consider Shin Chan a pleasant and stupid as hell, poorly drawn anime worth watching; whereas One Piece is....just juvenile. I am so so tired of the quest to be the best and adventure genre.

Kind of like how I feel about Bleach and it being DBZ minus 35% of the groaning.
