"How preposterous" was the words filling his head at that precise moment. Was the gambler worried about his hand in this game of chance? No. A cheater was someone he refused to associate himself with. Inside the game anyway. With a coy smile he stood up sliding back the wooden chair across the tiled floor. Arriving at the conclusion that his opponent was a perverter of the game was simple. "I believe our match is concluded" he began with his smile deepening as he enjoyed his moment of aloofness. The young man on the other side of the table appeared to be perplexed to which Luxord finished his statement. "Lady luck is a cruel mistress" and with that he left the small cafe.
Simple observation skills had been the winner here, not fate or chance. Mentally noting each card as it was played was an insurance for his entertainment, not a method of victory. The streets of Twilight Town appeared to be deserted for the moment. Folding his arms as he walked the streets his mind whirred and clicked into motion. "Perhaps its time to check in the asylum" he noted to himself. Since his revival, the Gambler of Fate had avoided that place. His own firm belief in fate had ensured this avoidance of the stronghold. Luxord believed that because he had been brought back for an as of yet unknown reason, he was meant for better things.
Something should of told him not to go there. Yet again this higher complex of fate removed any sort of emotion to the thought of returning. Not that he could have any kind of feelings, with a lack of a heart and all. Perhaps it was because he believed everything up until his unfortunate demise was set in stone and with his destruction ( in which Luxord was quite shocked ) his faith in this construct had faltered. Once again his thoughts were lost as he pondered such things in his head. His mind couldn't wrap themselves around an assuring answer. Stroking his white blonde beard in a rhythmic manner, eyes of ocean blue scanned the area.
"One must put all the cards on the table, if they wish to obtain the largest bounty" he said with a snigger, his eyes flickering in delight. Now his mind was set with his faith restored. Plans formulated for new games set in his mind. Memories from his times set in the Organization returned to him. Boring times mostly filled with the occasional banter revolving cards or games of chance. Luxord was like this. Nobodies seemed to fill this void of emotion with something else that tied them back to they're previous life. The gentleman gambled, whereas the nocturne played his sitar. The academic researched and the schemer...well schemed. Lists of each quirk of the Organization could go on. No, they weren't the perfect bunch but there was a sense of collective security which acted as a safety net. Not that any of them were capable of feeling fear, perhaps one of them. Unfortunately for Luxord that name was etched in his mind and would be for a long time.
"Roxas...how could you?!"
That final moment before he re-awoke was all he could think about these past few days. "I feel the urge to...play" he muttered to himself in a somewhat sinister tone. This was quickly followed by a hollow chuckle. The fact he had said he 'felt' the urge was a mistake in itself. He was a Nobody. Therefore the ability to feel was beyond him. Even a game of poker didn't feel the same after losing the best hand he ever had. His heart. Therefore he had a constant reminder and refresher of his drive to recover that which was lost within each game he played, however small a scale they may have been.
For some reason he had never doubted the fact that some, if not all the Organization had returned in some form or another. If he had managed to find his way back to this physical plane of existence ( if you could call it that ) then why not the others. Fate was moving the strings here and Luxord agreed. "This game yearns to be played. I shall heed its call and deal the cards accordingly..." he spoke aloud mainly to himself. All the while he was shuffling his pack of cards with both hands with a sinister smile spread across his face. Drawing from the deck he held the card in between his index and middle finger. A hollow laughter filled this area and thankfully for any one else, no one was around to hear its chilling echo. "The ace of spades indeed..." was the last words he muttered in an amused tone before he allowed the darkness to envelop his slim frame whisking him off elsewhere. All the while that low, empty laugh could be heard.

While I would greatly prefer that auditions be self-contained stories unto themselves (with a developed setting, among other things), I do believe you'd be able to pull off a Luxord. There's a bit of telling instead of showing going on but with such a different psychology I suppose it's rather difficult to 'show' Nobody mindsets.
Another crit: If you do include NPCs, I'd suggest giving them more fleshing out in the future - here, the kid was very much a strawman character whose entire purpose was to show off Luxord's abilities. I suggest a little more subtlety next time. ;3
Ah well, rules here do state that they want to focus on the character themselves so I can't really fault you for that one.
