The store was singularly unimpressive.
It was as if they had never heard of magic. While some of it looked eccentric enough to have come out of some stitch witch on Mako, Xaldin couldn't even detect the most ambient of magic on any of the apparel. He'd assumed that the air outside had simply been wreaking havoc with his more rudimentary senses (there was filth everywhere) but no - it appeared that everything here was absolutely positively mundane.
As Dilan thumbed the fabric he'd been handed he repressed an urge to groan. Not even the most basic protective charms had been woven into it. Hoping for a charm for comfort would be far too much to hope for. He flipped the various garments around, hoping that there was some sort of trigger-activated magic but as far as he could tell, the small label with various letter and number codes was absolutely meaningless.
There appeared to be a small stall for dressing. After an initial false start (the old lady in the booth gave him a coy look that was quite disturbing) Dilan managed to find an unoccupied one. While he understood the importance of having matching pants, he wasn't entirely sure why he needed a new pair of shoes (they were a very shiny black, stiff and entirely too uncomfortable) nor the dark-tinted glasses. The white shirt and black overcoat were, if nothing else, plain and the black leather strap that held his pants up a good if quaint concept.
The tie, he felt, was pushing it. After managing to get all the garments on the correct appendages he walked out.
"I look ridiculous." He felt forced to point out.

Emi flashed him a thumbs up. "That works. Somebody will think you are a businessman, and I dunno... I'm your heathen niece or something. Let's go pay for this stuff and get out of here."
Emi reached over and ripped the tags off all of Dilan's new clothes. The woman at the counter didn't seem all too pleased with that, but there was nothing to be done about it now. After handing over a little over half the stolen money, Emi beckoned Dilan to follow her.
"I highly doubt twenty bucks is going to get us anywhere. Let's see how much we can get for the gold in your pocket. What did you do with your old clothes?"
