Physical appearance ~ Iryoku is averagely built for a young man, standing at 5 feet 8 inches and weighing in at about 165 lbs. His hair is about hear length, neatly maintained despite being a bit on the shaggy side, and he occasionally has to brush it out of the way of his golden hued eyes. His body, if one were to get a good look, is covered in an intricate tattoo system, engraved with the magical runes and colored patterns of countless civilizations, both past and present, that have been modified and synthesized together to form the basis of his powers.

Clothing/Accessories ~ Iryoku is quite conservative with his clothing, preferring to cover up as much as he can. Overall though, he still comes off as quite stylish- He starts with an un-tucked white button up, with black slacks and leather strap shoes. Over his shirt he wears a stylish coat, black with red highlights and two straps that keep the jacket fastened. Around his neck he wears a simple metal cross on a worn leather string., and on his right bicep wears a blue metal armlet.

Dark alleyways in a long forgotten city, memories of yesterday’s trials- mixed emotions, summoned forth by the Drifter’s persona.

Behavior ~ Iryoku is the stray cat, a wanderer with no home, and a traveler with no destination. He does what he needs to in order to survive, but does so neither willingly or with pleasure. He can befriend others, but does not place complete faith in them. He can make enemies, but he can never truly hate them. This stray enjoys the simple pleasures of a warm meal and a comfortable bed, but is content with stale bread and shelter from the rain. He never takes anything for granted, and constantly pushes forward with all his strength. In combat, he fights with everything at his fingertips, but never goes farther than needed. And when the day is done and the night falls, he drifts into the realm of dreams, and experiences both blissful dream and shocking nightmare.

Description ~ Created during the process of being imbued with the mechanisms behind his power, Rune Soul is representation of the physical side of SBMA. The blade is shaped like a broadsword; completely square save for the broadening of the blade near the end. A simple guard extends from the blade to the pommel, parallel with the handle, and both are natural extensions of the blade, as if it were forged from one piece of metal. The double-edged blade is rather unique in coloring-a royal blue hue, save for the pommel which is golden yellow- but is most remarkable because of the cut-outs in the blade, as well as it’s markings. Several lines dart across the flat of the blade, glowing electric blue and standing out quite apparently. And the blade has two cut outs in it- one in the middle of the blade, shaped in likeness of a keyhole, and a second cut out near the tip.

Sigil Soul was created in tandem with Rune Soul, and serves as a representation of the magical side of SBMA. It is a royal blue armlet, intricately engraved and inlayed with silver and a red spherical gemstone. He wears it on his right bicep. Sigil Soul serves as a focus to channel SBMA magic, and is capable of allowing Iryoku to launch simple projectiles of concentrated SBMA from his hands and/or Rune Soul, even while Over-soul is offline or recharging. The energy bolts about the size of a throwing dagger, and have comparative strength and penetrating ability.

[Warrior Ability: Pulse Aura]
Send a pulse through your weapon that creates a brute force from any single point on your weapon with a range of a meter from that single point. This force is enough to kick an opponent backwards 5 feet, and maybe break bone, but don’t expect to burst through walls or anything.
Uses: 3 time use per battle. Each pulse counts as a use.

Ability Set~ SBMA (Soul Burning Mystic Aura)
An experimental magic, SBMA is engineered to feed off of the immense and renewable energy of one’s soul, rather than the mana present either in the body or the environment. While initially SBMA was centered on improving traditional magic spells, the nature of the Soul allows potential to enhance the physical shell it resides in. Its key trait is the electric blue coloring present in all forms of the magic, no matter the element or the form.

Due to the fact that the spells are fueled by the soul, SBMA cannot be completely copied- the form, the effects and even the power of the spell can be mimicked, but it lacks the distinct electric blue coloring, as well as the soul energies fueling it. Likewise, abilities that are purely soul energy like Over-soul cannot be replicated at all.


1. [SBMA: Over-soul]
Upon entering combat (or willing his power to manifest/reactivate), Iryoku begins to glow dimly under the influence of SBMA. Dim lighting reveals the power to be almost smoky as it clings to his body, movement causing it to twist and shift in the air into ethereal shapes. This particular ability is two-fold: First, it is a physical buffer of sorts, granting Iryoku protection from the environment (granted a mild resistance against temperatures, able to negate scratches and scrapes, and the ability to ignore to some degree weather, so long as none of these are abilities or spells of others); and, more importantly, it is a catalyst for his magic.

Iryoku’s SMBA spells can only be cast when Over-soul is active and present- the spells drain power from the Over-soul, which is non-vital energy pulled from the soul. After so many spells, the Over-soul is drained, and vanishes completely. This system is measures by SP (Soul Points) - Each spell drains from the available SP Pool, in accordance to their AP value (Weak cost 2 SP, Moderate cost 4 SP, and Strong cost 6 SP). You can only cast spells for however much SP you possess (if 2 SP remain, only weak spells can be cast)- you cannot overdraft. This form of Over-soul grants a SP Pool of 12.

2. [SBMA: Fire]
Thrusting a palm at a target, Iryoku creates an explosive sphere of fire. The size is roughly 1 meter in diameter.

3. [SBMA: Blizzard]
Spinning on a heel, Iryoku manifests a ring of glowing ice, before it extends violently outward, dealing ice damage in a 3 meter radius.

Holding out his hand, Iryoku generates a cone of lightning, extending to 6 meters long and 3 meters in width at the tail-end.

~History~

The Drifter’s struggle is not written upon parchment, but inscribed onto his body, and into the worlds he traverses.

Iryoku was born in Traverse Town, to a simply family with simple tastes. He lived and average life, with average friends and average occurrences, and was content. At the age of 6, his family, his life, and his world were torn from him- he was secretly kidnapped at a young age, and his family sacrificed to the Heartless. He became #1509, a living experiment for a cultist group called Seekers of the Soul. He and hundreds of other children were cultured for their inhuman experiments into the ways of magic and the soul. Many were sacrificed and became Heartless and Nobodies, and many more mutilated physically and psychologically, all for the sake of harnessing the power of the Soul. He was the prototype- the first successful subject to be able to survive the process of being infused with the magical system known as Soul Burning Mystic Aura, and was furthermore able to efficiently use the power without killing himself.

However, the cult made one error - his system was overly complex, to the point where his body was now a living encyclopedia of thousands of years of knowledge. Knowledge that would put the Seekers of the Soul at risk if the right people analyzed the system. They could simplify the system and make it more efficient for the rest of their rising army of experiments, but this one, they felt, needed to be wiped off the face of the universe. #1509 was to die, where not even his soul would remain.

The magical system in his body would turn out to be his saving grace- thousands of years of knowledge had come up with ways of travel through the stars, and all of that knowledge was engraved into his very soul. Desire to survive manifested, and at his execution his power flared, and at the age of 14 he was granted life anew, as the power of SBMA transported him far from the clutches of the Seekers of the Soul. After centering himself and establishing his desire to be, he named himself Iryoku, and set off to exist. He knows he is still hunted, and knows that he will clash with the Seekers of the Soul and their minions, but stands firm, and journeys with conviction.

Has a lot of cat-like tendencies- love of milk (whole milk, none of that 2% third-rate stuff), love of napping and high places, and an excellent sense of balance and body control.

As the first successful prototype for the SBMA, the huge array engraved into his body serves as a reference for thousands of civilizations worth of magical knowledge. With proper inspection, anyone well versed in magic can study the runes, through they would not be able to use SBMA power - this makes him quite conscious of the fact that in the wrong hands the knowledge engraved into him can cause the annihilation of entire worlds. Likewise, he occasionally studies the magic runes himself, hoping to learn and understand more about SBMA, as well as learn new ways of empowering himself. While theoretically he could use this to learn any magic he encounters, it isn’t that simple- he’d have to both know what to look for on his array, as well as were to look. A particular magic is kind of hard to find, especially when it is alongside tens of thousands of other spells.

The staff requests that you remove the part of the abilities/weapons indicating that your moves can not be copied, or at least not without instantly KOing the copier. It has been decided that this would be in violation of the rule that does not allow any ability to completely, constantly nullify another ability, as this would for a copier.

Toned down the SBMA by removing the KO clause, and reworked the inability to copy (the spell's form, damage, and effects can be copied, but the soul energy and coloring cannot be replicated. Also, abilities based off of pure soul energy such as Over-soul cannot be copied at all).

there are ways I can imagine to copy Oversoul, though I doubt such characters would ever likely be made. Still, just remember that you never know what others might come up with out there.
