"NngneeaAAAHH!" Mora quickly freaked out, jumped to her feet, and ran ran ran to the foliage off to the side of the building.
Not only was weird creepy man strange as heck, his want to pull FREAKING HUGE HEARTLESS out of HIS ARMPIT scared the heck out of Mora. Her gun may be big, but it's not a bloody rocket launcher!
....Mora also decided to make a note of the rocket launcher idea.
Hidden among the ferns, the young woman shoved her now very messy hair out of her face as she surveyed the situation. She spent most of this time calming down, however.
Okay, mysterious pyramid. Maybe treasure.
Idiot with some kind of vendetta? He's powerful. And worth avoiding.
Heartless. The freaking huge thing... had Mora thinking she'd leave it to Mr. Testosterone.
Speaking of him. Guy who had more bravery than brawn had come out of pyramid to bash Heartless. Visitor? Resident? Dunno.
Hmm.... It's too dangerous, she finally decided. Mora couldn't take on the Heartless, unless Brawn for Brains there is more Brawn than Dumb. In which case she might go for it, if she thought it might get her some loot.
But until that kind of thing suggested itself...
Getting to her hands and knees, Mora started to work her way around the clearing, all the while remaining among the ferns. True, she'll probably have trouble sneaking in... but big pyramids with treasure have a habit of having secret entrances, right?

While Mora was sneaking around the Temple, the monk inside shook his head. "No, there is nothing you can do to aid me right now. We cannot fight the Heartless until they have entered the Temple, and so all I can do is ask you to fight them. Please, go!"
The Invisibles hovered, spreading outwards. In a few minutes, they would surround the Temple to ensure that none escaped. The Darkside pointed forwards silently, and the Darkballs began moving fowards towards the entrance slowly. These Heartless seemed reluctant, somehow.

"According to my readings, there are four other distortions within the Sea of Stars -- there may be more, but that's all I've been able to get a fix on thusfar." "For other Temples, then... this shouldn't take too long." "Aye, presumin' they be more accomidatin' than th' last one." "So... which one are we going to first?" " Arr, well, the closest one would be --" "Should darkness offend? Its noise stamps a leafy habitation visible beneath the event. Darkness summarizes the deputy cheek outside the punished guilt. Darkness stomachs the telling genetics. A creative torture complains on top of an orbit. How can darkness experiment against darkness?" "Cordell, is your ship... quite sane?" "Nay, at least not as right now. Hunger be makin' it like this. But unless I be missin' me guess, it seems ta be sayin' thar be darkness near one o' th' distortin' sites... which means somethin' be up, an that be th' one we're goin' t' investigate!" ------------------------------------------------------------------ High above the jungle canopy, a dark rift was torn open... and from the black maw emerged 'The Red Corsair'. It's silver solar-sails shone brilliantly in the sunlight, and as it banked hard to port and approached the treasure-laden temple it cast a long shadow across the majestic shrine. Manning the helm, Captain Cordell Ribaldrous Furor the 10 th glanced over the deck's edge to see the radiant splendor of the Temple's crowning jewel. " HAH! Lookit that, lads! A beautiful treasure if ever I saw one!" She pressed a button, setting the ship on a pre-calculated path, and stepped away from the wheel. "Yeah, just remember that we're not here to sack the place." Kassom reminded her, striding up from behind as Cordell pulled out a spyglass from her overcoat and peered down at their intended destination. "Ye scurrilous lout -- I know that!" She barked back at him. "But seein' as this 'ere one be so richly adorned, mayhaps they can spare a reward fer us, eh?" She tossed him the miniature telescope. "What ye see, cat-eyes?" The young lynx peered through the lens, spotting what looked like a hoard of Heartless -- one particularly gigantic -- encircling a building he could only assume was the Temple of the Seal. It sure looked different from the last one... more like some kind of palace than a monastery, that's for sure. But to get to it, they were going to have to fight through no small number of Heartless. "Trouble, a lot of it." He handed back the spyglass. "You got a plan of attack?" "Heh heh... but of course!" She turned towards her crew of Pirate and Air Pirate Heartless, striding towards mid-deck. "Alright lads, battle stations! Arm th' cannons an' prepare t' broadside that big fellow on my command. Load th' raiding gun -- fuzzy an' I are goin' ashore. Once we're down, attack in force! Send fliers on bombin' runs 'gainst the tough ones! Pound em' into sand, and teach em' t' fear 'The Red Corsair'!!" The Heartless on deck all cheered -- well, they looked like they were cheering, at least, and then the entire company scurried off into action. A minute or two later the ship was in range to attack. All four port-side cannons fired off in succession, taking aim directly for the Darkside. Immediately following the first volley an object like a javelin was fired from a gun mounted near the front of the ship, the projectile tethered to a long rope. The spear-like shot slammed into a particularly large tree near the Temple and stuck fast there. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAVAST YE!!!"Down the zip-line descended Cordell Ribaldrous Furor the 10 th, hanging onto the pulley with one hand and firing off her pistol with the other. As she neared the ground she let go, dropped, rolled, and came back up with guns blazing in tune to her wild, maniacal laughter. Meanwhile, the feral rogue was making an entrance of his own -- albeit a far less dramatic and attention-worthy one. Standing on the bow of the ship, Kassom breathed in deeply, held out his hands... and leapt off like an Olympic diver. Downward he plunged, piercing the jungle canopy like a sniper round and vanishing seamlessly into the undergrowth. Anyone watching would have thought it a suicide jump... but as he met the forest floor it was the ground, not he, who yielded. Several moments later, two Invisibles felt something take hold of their legs and pull them down unexpectedly. Clad now in a metal over-skin, Kassom yanked sharply at the sword-wielding Heartless from underground, dragging them into the earth with him until they were buried up to their chests. As they struggled the iron-clad lynx leapt up and onto solid ground, slashing at the two snared Invisibles with blades protruding from his forearms as he did. And then, the jungle bore witness to a yet more peculiar sight... Heartless fighting other Heartless. In blooms of darkness Cordell's Pirates emerged on the scene, wildly swinging their over-sized cutlasses at their fellow dark-born. Meanwhile, Air Pirates carrying what looked like home-made bombs with the Heartless emblem emblazoned on them flocked overhead, raining their explosive payload on the Darkside before flying back to the ship to reload. What had been a battlefield... had just become a war zone. "Don't ye landlubbers be attackin' me crew, ye hear me?!" Cordell shouted as she switched out her expended pistols for a new set, continuing to assault any enemy Heartless that got in her way with a steely hail. The battle was on in earnest for the jungle Temple.

"Oi! Relax, laddie -- we ain't here ta loot th' place!" Cordell shouted in response, popping an Invisible clean between the eyes with one of her shots. "Tell 'em monks inside that help 'as arrived from th' Temple o' Touch. ARR!"
She shouted in classical pirate fashion as she went back to focusing entirely on the fight.

"The Temple of Touch would not send any who would cause harm to the Temples to any other Temple." The monk replied, relieved. "However, I hope that the Temple of Touch has their own people to help protect it in place... we cannot leave the Temple to defeat these heartless ourselves."
Meanwhile, the Heartless were putting up a large fight against the newfound enemy. Darkballs charged at the new enemies in rapid, jerking motions, some of them untouchable until they expanded in a surprise attack, others moving so fast they were unpredicatable. This was not a fight people were getting out of unscathed.
The Invisibles, meanwhile, saw they were being targeted specifically and as one stabbed their swords into the ground to combat the highest threat to them... Cordell. A thick ring of flame appeared around her... and then another... and another... thickening the ring so much that instead of being multiple flames, it was one ring of solid black flame, swirling around her at such speed that darkness was splitting off from the ring to attack those nearby... including Cordell.
The Darkside hit the bombs back before they exploded with its massive arm, silently watching the large fight at its feet. It turned away, and stepped across, sometimes even stepping on allied heartless. It reached the Temple and reached down, taking the diamond from the top of it and dropping it after a temporary examination. It began battering the roof of the Temple with its fists, one blow after another. The Temple wouldn't last long against this onslaught.

...Cordell? The heck?!
In the brush, Mora had had the opportunity to see all that had transpired. Seeing her comrades of Res Nullis engaging in combat, she got the feeling something'd changed...
Namely, priorities.
Hefting her gun off of her back and into a comfortable position at her side, Mora scanned over the situation.
Ouch. Pretty darn obvious what the focus would hafta be on. Mister Tall, Dark, and Ugly. If he left to his own entertainment, the temple'll be in ruins... pretty soon, actually.
Given it's a pyramid...
Summoning her mental energy, Mora brought her hand out and up, focusing on the tip of the temple. After some brief thought about how bad this'd be if it messed up, she let loose her own personal variant on Gravira.
With any luck, and tattered bricks 'n stuff that fall out of place would get held up by the gravity and go right back into the spot.
Shoving her hand back onto the gun strap, Mora started to pick up the pace.
That Gravira spell would only last for a little while. A temporary fix. After that, the only advantage she would have would be surprise.
Mora decided she needed to find a big rock. And soon.

(OOC: Rukio, try to slow down a bit when you're posting... it's a little difficult to understand what you're character's doing. Just take your time, and if it helps try reading it out loud before you post. That should help.)
"Grr..." Cordell was getting steamed up, encircled by a ring of black flames that was steadily scorching her and throwing spitfire onto everything nearby. There was no way she could let this keep up; she really wasn't interested in getting grilled like a lobster.
Fortunately for the young female captain, she still had a few tricks up her sleeve. A faint glow surrounded her briefly as her eyes squinted shut. "Shell Aura!" Cordell thrust out her left hand, and immediately the flame-formed Invisibles found something in their way: a solid wall of curved energy, seemingly fitted to the captain's left side. She grinned maliciously, leaping a foor or two into the air while spinning three-sixty, causing her Shell Aura to crash against and push back the dense ring of flames. It wasn't likely to destroy the Invisibles, but it would buy her a few key moments to change the tide of battle.
Her grin widened even further, beginning to look downright psychotic. Cordell sprinted forward several feet, tucking away both pistols and making sure she had a clean shot at the Darkside...
"It's time,"
... then pulled out her trump card. "For the BIG GUN!!"
Instantly, crimson energy began to radiate from her body as a tool of unparalleled destruction took shape alongside her right arm. In appearance a giant gatling gun, Cordell's Big Gun was a weapon that HAD to be taken seriously in spite of -- or perhaps because of -- it's ridiculous size compared to the girl who wielded it. Bracing the weapon with both hands, the young pirate took dead aim for the massive Darkside...
... and proceeded to dump an onslaught of rapid-fire explosive rounds into her target. Shell casings cascaded like water onto the ground while the air seemed to tremble with the sound of gunfire... and Cordell's maniacal laughter.
Meanwhile, Kassom had been getting knocked around by Darkballs quite a bit, and was getting sincerely tired of it. As yet another one charged him he curled up slightly... and, right before impact, sent a ripple of spikes cascading across the surface of his metal over-skin. It was like attacking a puffer fish when it inflates; the Darkball reeled back from the unexpected stabs it received, but Kassom and Ilaelis wouldn't be done with just that.
"Oh no... you're not getting away."
A chain of liquid metal leapt from the Kinzoku's left forearm like a living thing, taking hold of the stunned Darkball and capturing it within a web-like netting of metallic strands. Grabbing his end of the chain with both hands, Kassom/Ilaelis began to swing the hostage Heartless around like a wrecking ball, slamming it into any enemies unfortunate enough to get too close to him. Its wind jerking, jumping motions as it tried to free itself just made it more fun and a bit of a challenge to send it crashing headlong into enemy Heartless.
The Air Pirates, seeing their assault on the Darkside being rebuffed so easily, decided to find other targets. As Cordell's Big Gun sent a flurry of ammo crashing against the titanic Heartless, her minions turned their attention to the ground war. Now bombs began to fall on clusters of Darkballs and Invisibles, sending up plumes of flying dirt and smoke with each explosive they let drop.
The battle was quickly heating up.

The Invisibles easily found themselves pushed back, returning to ordinary form and pulling out the swords. While everyone was distracted by the Darkside, they quickly flew into the Temple.
The Darkballs were pretty much unable to move as they were bombarded and hit back and forth like volleyballs by the bombs and by Kassom. One of them pulled a risky move... and lunged forwards, opening its jaws and biting down on the metal-coated arm. Hard.
Darkside, meanwhile, was shielding itself with its arms from the assault that Cordell had fired at it, the explosions hitting the arms while it shielded the ever-vital head. It merely ignored the attack at its legs, which was nigh-useless. Only its arms and head were vulnerable, and head most of all. Behind the shielding arms, energy built up, and purple blasts shot out of the heart-shaped hole in its chest, aiming for Cordell.

" Aye, lad!" Cordell responded, having to shout over the roar of her autocannon. With Rukio standing ready to intercept the incoming blasts of darkness, the captain began focusing on shooting down the large purple energy orbs before they could get too close. She had no idea what this kid was capable of -- hopefully strong enough to counter the blasts -- but she did know that defense had to come before offense. If all else failed, she'd trust in her Aura Shell to withstand at least some of the damage... though those blasts looked awfully powerful. "GAH!" The demon-possessed lynx shouted, the Darkball's giant maw crushing into his arm straight through the metal over-skin. He released the Darkball-on-a-chain instantly, causing the metal to melt and pool on the ground as he cringed in pain. Screaming an obscenity with the tone of a battlecry, he crouched and slammed his free hand to the ground -- instantly a stone spike shot up from the earth directly under the Darkball. Fixed as it was upon Kassom's arm, the Heartless never had a chance: it was stabbed almost point-black and skewed on the rocky lance, victim of it's own strategy. Jerking his wounded arm away from the ball's fangs, Kassom looked over the damage briefly. 'Urgh... that's not good.' He thought, metal shifting to cover the wound. It still did little to hide the long streaks of blood that had already spilled down from the wound... but at least it would seal the injury up for now. The pain was giving way to a numb stiffness. 'This's going to make fighting difficult.'He leapt back from the lunge of another Darkball, cringing as a sharp dose of anguish shot through his wounded right arm. As he did so, he spotted the Invisibles headed into the Temple. More bad news. <<Leave it to me, kid. You take a backseat -- pain doesn't bother me so much.>>'Alright, you're the boss, Ilaelis.'Spinning on his heels, Ilaelis sprinted for the Temple's entrance. The spilled metal from before followed him, gliding in puddles across the ground until it caught up and was reabsorbed back into the armor. From this, twin wrist-blades took shape on his forearms. "Hey, Heartless!" He shouted, stepping into the entrance and charging the nearest enemy. "Get back here, cowards!"--------------------------------------------------------- As 'The Red Corsair' swung wide and let fly a volley at the Darkside's exposed back and head, Vates and Iris watched the ongoing battle from the deck. It was clear that those on the ground needed all the help they could get... but the aging professor hesitated. He was no warrior, nor could he rely on the strength of youth. Going down there... it would be suicide! But that wasn't stopping his young niece, even though she was just as "battle shy" as himself. Having deposited her backpack below deck, Iris walked up to the zip-line with hammer in hand and determination on her face. "J-just listen to me, girl!" The old artificer insisted. "What you're doing is crazy! A-a-and, uh, the rope -- it'll snap under the weight of that hammer you carry. Please, PLEASE just stay here where it's safe!" "I can't, uncle... sorry, but everyone's risking their lives down there. I have to do something!" The young lynx took a deep breath, stepping towards the ship's edge and looking over. They should be close enough... "Wha... what are you DOING?!" Vates exclaimed as Iris took the hammer in both hands, holding it at a distance and beginning to spin in place. His answer came a minute later when she released it, sending the hefty tool flying over the edge and into the midst of the battle far below. She wasn't sure where it would land exactly... but she knew Vates was right: it was too heavy to bring down the zip-line. Without further hesitation she raced for the taut rope, grabbed and attached a pulley, and was zipping down into the fray before her uncle could say another word. Vates shuddered, unsettled by how risky this situation had become. Both his niece and nephew... oh, what to do?! As the ship bucked from another round of cannon fire he felt the bag at his waist jingle... and knew it was his best option. "Grr... aaahh, take this, you accursed Heartless!!" He shouted, rushing to the ship's railing and pulling several marbles from his bag. He didn't even bother to check what spells these contained before he threw them with all his might. Where they landed, or what effects they had, he neither knew nor cared. This was all he could do... as they neared the ground Vates snapped his fingers, priming and activating the magic locked inside the small glass beads. (OOC: Have fun with that, Pyrth! )
