And, success! That was exactly what she had been hoping for, since she didn't want to risk any of her limbs now that the gravity was stronger. Being forced to separate from Shinji didn't worry her too much, she felt like she could handle herself much better now that she was using her abilities. She crushed the shards in her right hand together to make two longer shards. They weren't as big as the prior, but that was expected when the distribution needed to be changed.
Emma managed to slow down enough so she was almost behind the remaining Magnum Loader. This also provided more distance between her a Shinji's laser. Taking an ice shard in her free hand, she threw it towards the wheel again. If it missed, she always had another one.

Nyx's crystals hit hard and true, forcing the Magnum Loader to a halt. It didn't blow up though. Guess these things sorta do have brains. Instead, it kind of fidgeted around, tryign to get the crystals free. It's gonna be there a while. Shinji's laser also made a good hit on the other Heartless. Very suddenly, it pulled a comlete U-turn, and flew-- and really freaking fast-- towards the heroes. WHOOSH.It blasted between the two, leaving them with a breif glimpse as to it's appearance. The main body was a good two feet in diameter, and the drifting arms that stretched out behind it easily met Shinji and Emma's bikes' length. Whuh oh.

Excellent! The laser attack made its mark! The end result didn't bring what he wanted to him, though. The Heartless he had shot made a U-turn and quickly came in between the two heroes. It wasn't exactly huge, but it was sizable enough for a good enemy. A swift breeze flew past, the force of the air being sliced across the sharpest parts of his armor.
"Hey, Emma! Are you alright?" He just wanted to make sure that she was alright, especially since he had left her alone to fight the Magnum Loaders. Looking at the scene, though, she seemed to have done a nice job. Still... it didn't hurt to be safe.

"I'm fine!" Emma replied, irritated that yet another opponent had arrived. Ah well, that's what the whole mission was about. fighting enemies to destroy the date sphere thing. Really, she and Shinji were doing a pretty good job of it though. They could hold their own without too much trouble. She'd probably be more satisfied if the shard had worked the way she wanted it too.
Emma threw the final shard at the immobile Magnum Loader, aiming for it's wheel again, but the tire specifically, too see if she could maybe pop it. She didn't quite know how these Heartless worked, so it was worth a shot. If need be, she'd just confure up some more crystals anyhow. But whether or not her plan worked, it was time to focus on the newcomer, who clearly was going to pose a problem for her and Shinji....

Emma's final ice shard hit the Magnum Loader's wheel, but to no avail. As had been stated before, the wheel is pretty darn hard; more metal than plastic. (Funny things, those Heartless.) The Meteor Burst Heartless pulled up and around, flying into the air and turning back for the team. More details were visible, like the red streaks that flowed across it's body. Coming down, and hugging close to the ground, the Meteor Burst came right up behind the first one in his path. That person being Emma. It promptly rammed into her bike, sending a great big shudder throughout the machine. The bike was promptly shoved forward, dangerously so, towards Shinji's bike. [METEOR BURST HEALTH] [It's a health bar. xD It's set up like in the games: green, orange, red, black. It might skip a few colors though, to lower it's health. (It is a miniboss.]

Shinji watched as Emma made her move, shoving an ice spike into one of the Magnum Loader's wheels. This battle was getting quite deadly at this point. Even more so now that Emma was being pushed towards Shinji. The wannabe hero swirved off to the right, leaning his bike ever so closely to the ground below. This tactic pulled the hero around and up, his body now facing the large Heartless. He had never seen a Heartless this size before. Shinji was used to the occasional Soldiers and cricket looking thingies.
This thing, though... it sent a shiver of dread through his body. He was more worried about Emma, though. She was the one who had taken the very brunt of the attack. She could hold her own, that much he knew, but she was still human, just like Shinji. That meant that if one of them got crunched... splat. Just like a bug on a windshield. The protector dashed forward, using his super strength to at least try and slow this thing down.
"Eat fist, you oversized piece of junk!"

(OOC: Now taking up where Rocket left off.) It's said that for every action there is an equal and an opposite reaction... Shinji was about to discover just how true this saying could be. He and the Meteor Burst Heartless were on an intercept course with each other and the moment his fist slammed into its surface Shinji realized why it may not have been the best of moves. True, the speed of the enemy made his punch impact that much harder and do that much more damage, but that was the 'equal'. The 'opposite' was the recoil that yanked him clean off his light cycle, sending him flying for a good thirty feet before hitting the ground. If it hadn't been for the fact that the Heartless had been slowed down some by it's bump into Emma it could've been much worse. Shinji wasn't out of the running, but it would take him some time to get back to his bike and catch up with the Meteor Burst (one turn getting back to the bike, one to catch up). In the meanwhile, it was Emma against the bizarre new Heartless... [METEOR BURST HEALTH]

Emma screamed loudly as she struggled to keep control of her swerving bike. It felt like it was going to topple over at any moment if she didn't keep the correct amount of balance. Luckily she was able to recover, but she lost a lot of time and completely missed what had happened while she was regaining control and coming to a less than gentle stop. When she looked up, Shinji was on the ground and his bike was skidding away from him. Also, she learned that the other team that had gone in with them had failed. That didn't sound promising.
And there was also the Meteor Burst Heartless had decided to target her yet again. Shit... She thought, revving her bike as if it would somehow intimidate the Heartless. Another moment and she zoomed off, trying to create some distance and buy some time to think of a plan. She'd have to come up with a damn good one to survive.

"Gaaah!" The impact with Shinji's fist sent him straight into the air, sending a deep shock into his system as he hit the ground, landing with a thud. He landed right on his right arm, bruising it badly. Shinji used his left hand to push himself up, taking a look around. He could hear someone scream, probably Emma, which sent shivers down his spine. He had to have done some damage to the Heartless, even if it was just a bit.
He looked around frantically for his light cycle, only to spot it skidding away from him. Damn. I should have taken precaution beforehand! The hero began to run towards his runaway bike, thankful that it actually came to a stop. It took awhile, but he finally caught up with the damned thing, grabbing a hold of the handlebars and kicking his leg over the seat. Shinji revved his bike and sped to towards Emma and the Heartless. They were so far away... it would take so much time to get to them, but he had a plan...

Lucky for Emma, the Meteor Burst Heartless had spent a moment in recoil as she paused for a moment. However, her revving brought it's attention to her right away. Rather than debate which of the two to go for, the Heartless immediately charged after Emma, circles of Darkness suddenly jettisoning from the Meteor Burst's arm, which brought the Heartless right up and easily catching up with Emma in a matter of moments. Guess outrunning it isn't an option. [METEOR BURST HEALTH]

The wannabe-hero watched from the back as he watched the Magnum Loaders speed around to Emma. She could take care of them. She was stronger than he imagined and he could sense that she was smart, so why wouldn't she be able to change the whole tide of battle with one fell swoop? Or, was it his job to change the outcome and finally be a hero? He hadn't thought this far as he raced towards his partner. If she got hurt, it would be his fault for acting foolish before.
What would he do now, if everything crashed and burned?
[OOC:Sorry. I was under the impression that it was one post to get on the bike and ride and another post just to catch up, which meant I caught up and could dish attacks.]

[ If we want to talk lazy bumness, we can chat about Castle Oblivion, Daydream, a certain speed RP, and so on. xD
I just didn't notice your edits is all. ^^ Now that I know, we can proceed! ]Blazing forward, the Meteor Burst Heartless rammed into the side of Emma's Light Cycle. An arm got caught in the wheel, though--
BFF--WHAM!
Caught by the wheel, the Heartless was slammed into the ground behind Emma. Thoroughly shocked, it started to lash out at random. In the process, Emma's bike was destroyed.
Emma was defeated in the ruckus. In a flash of sporadic light, she vanished.
Though far more hurt, the Meteor Burst rose from the ground and turned for Shinji. Sending out a loud howl from who-knows-where, it surged forward.
