LEON ------------------------------ True to his training, Leon's fireball struck home right before the NeoShadow could round a nearby corner. The book went flying out of its hands, skidding across the floor... and into a large gap in the wall with countless exposed pipes, conduits, and other assorted hardware. There it took a long plunge into the castle's innards, and could be heard bouncing off all manner of metallic surfaces on its way down to who-knows-where. As for the Heartless, it quickly rebounded and sprung to its feet, looking around as if searching for the book. Failing to find it, the little bugger turned its yellow gaze on the gunblader who'd denied it its prize. The Heartless ran across the floor on all fours before leaping directly at Leon, its claws flailing in a vaguely menacing manner. CID ------------------------------ Cid's maneuver once again paid off; not only was he able to dodge the NeoShadow's wild slashes, but also deliver a resounding THWACK! to the dark-born parasite. With all the engineer's strength it was really no surprise that he hit a home run, sending the enemy crashing into the opposite wall before slumping down into a dazed heap. He now had an ideal opportunity to deliver a coup de ta to one of the unwitting Heartless. DEE ------------------------------ "Wonderful!" Tron declared, seemingly elated by the small black mage's acceptance. "I honestly don't know how I'd get along without you Users at a time like this. I don't want to send you in alone though... the last team I sent to that data block suffered a serious setback, and it may be quite some time before I'm able to recover all their lost data and restore them." "With any luck, other Users willing to help will continue to arrive. Once someone does, I'll send you and them in to delete the Data Sphere in that area."

Adena had come to Radiant Garden on the rumor that Merlin was somewhere in the town, as she was hoping to get more of the magic paint she used.
The search was forgotten when she saw the posters on different walls, all asking for help. She moved her easel and paint case into a more comfortable running position, and headed towards the area the posters said to go.
Heading in though, she found only a few people at the computer. "Um, excuse me," she said, hoping to get someone's attention, "I saw the posters and I came to help. Can anyone tell me what's going on?"

Jumping right at him. Yeah that was going to work out well. If Leon's gunblade swinging diagonally down from left to right in front of him didn't take care of the thing, the fact that it burst into a giant blade of white light to swat it away before it could even get reasonably close probably would.
The book, however, was an oddity. Leon hadn't the faintest idea why the Neoshadow grabbed the book since he hadn't been there when the first disks had been recovered. Squall was just killing Heartless so they didn't interrupt the team at the computer.
Well, he'd have to see if the Neoshadow fared any better than he expected first. If it survived the Blade of the Heart attack then another No Mercy would be in order.

“Hah!” Cid laughed in triumph. He would have to hurry and finish them off before they get up from their daze. Cid turned on the one closest to him, and struck his spear at the immobile heartless, hopefully impaling it on the spot before it can move.

"There appears to be an on-going attack within the premises," Dee informed the newcomer curtly. "Tron can probably inform you of the particulars much more efficiently than I can."

LEON ------------------------------ No surprise, the NeoShadow couldn't stand up to the light in Leon's heart, getting cut to ribbons by his counterattack and falling apart, the pieces dissolving into bubbling liquid darkness as they hit the floor. Score: Leon 2, Heartless nihl. CID ------------------------------ The poor NeoShadow never even saw it coming, getting turned into Heartless shishkebab by Cid's spear. The dark creature flailed, then went rigid for a moment before falling limp (aside from a few unsettling twitches). It melted into black goo before vanishing completely. The other NeoShadow, seeing the fate of its team mate, took off running. This was a problem. The problem, however, was not so much that it was running in the same direction Cid needed to go... but rather that it was running towards a flock of Hook Bats, ten of them to be exact. Seems it's just one thing after another today... DEE & ADENA ------------------------------ "Fantastic! Looks like there's still Users out there willing to help." Tron said, his hologram reappearing nearby the computer console. He hesitated for a moment, as if trying to find a way to explain everything as briefly as possible. "I'm Tron, the program in charge of this castle's computer system. Somehow the system has become threatened by rogue data from an unknown source, as well as a resurgence of digitized Heartless. Even with all my processing power I just can't keep up... but if you're willing to help I can transfer you into the system as a data avatar. From there, all I need you to do are find these Data Spheres," He held out his hand and an image of a Data Sphere appeared. "And destroy them." "Please... if I don't get the system under control soon, the entire town could suffer. Will you help us?"

Dee waited. He had already proposed his affirmative and would assume, barring other unknown complications, that what Tron would propose next depended upon Adena's answer.
In his head, the river of memory lapped at his heels.
"Soon," the little Black Mage muttered to himself, ambiguous, lost, disheartened, impatient and just a spoonful of hopeful. Pandora's box was such a crapshoot. "Soon..."

Wonderful. So much for hoping that this was going to be a short trip to the castle and back before the kid sitting in for him wrecks the entire system. Goes to show how much of Cid’s hopes and wishes goes unheard. Guess that’s the backlash of not believing in magic and the supernatural. Cid will deal. The other heartless that he had neglected to finish off dashed off, hoping to escape before ending up like its kin. Cid wasn’t about to grant its wish. It was a good thing the NeoShadow was running off in the direction Cid should be heading. The man was soon in hot pursuit without a second to waste.
Oh, and right into the swarm of Hook Bats.
Cursing, Cid squealed to a stop, grimacing at the sight. Yes, he had fought these annoying buggers before. Flitting from one spot to the next. Like flies.
“Damn it…” Clearly, something did not want him to get the drive to Leon. Cid had plenty of these lying around Merlin’s house. Why is it all of sudden, everyone wants it?

Adena nodded at the image person that had appeared. "Okay, I'm willing to help!" She then muttered under her breath, "If the town is destroyed, I'll never get more paint."

DEE & ADENA ------------------------------ "Thank you, Users!" Tron said as his hologram began to flicker and fade once more. "I'll send you whatever support I can!" The hologram vanished from sight, and the massive device fired its digitizing lasers at both Adena and Dee, reducing their bodies to raw data and whisking them deep into cyberspace...

Ellie placed the Blank CD in the CD drive that Tron told her to, she then noticed that another person had come. He accepted Tron's invitation to help, but Tron didn't want him to go in alone. Suddenly Ellie turned around as she heard a female's voice, one that said that she had seen the posters around town and had come to help. Help had come quickly. Tron whisked them away to The City, where the other two people who had failed had been. Hopefully they could complete what the others couldn't.
"Tron, anything else I can do?" Ellie asked Tron as she stood in front of the monitors, watching what was happening.

"Sorry Ellie, nothing comes to mind just yet. I appreciate your staying with the computer for the time being, though. Without the others there..." Tron replied apologetically, as the disc slid into the drive. Soon after, a faint hummmm came from the machine. "Alright, we can go ahead and copy Emma's data now. Executing copy sequence..." In small blue lettering, a countdown sequence began. [ 3 ROUNDS REMAIN FOR COPY ] Tron paused. "Leon's been gone a while. Too long? What do you think, Ellie?"

Leon put his sword to rest on his shoulder, as usual for him, and gave little more thought to the book. He didn't have any means to try and retrieve it now anyway. It was more important to focus on the odd behaviour of the Heartless. They couldn't act so coordinated on something other than taking hearts without a very present and focused will to guide their actions.
'But the MCP is supposed to be fragmented. Can it really control pureblood Heartless out here in such a state?'
Wonders did not follow for long as the scarred man heard the distinct sounds of more struggling nearby. Putting all else aside he rushed down the corridors and turned into another hall.
"You certainly got here fast," he said calmly to his elder as Squall arrived at the scene. A Neoshadow was coming right at him as he turned the corner, but his inhuman reflexes allowed him to notice its presence and aim a Blade of the Heart swing through its body path before he had even finished turning the corner. Regardless, there were more annoyances between himself and his friend, so Squall kept going, ignoring the Heartless if it survived and dove headfirst into the swarm.
It was in tight spaces like this that Leon's Blade of the heart truly shined. He swung his gunblade in a flurry of wide, fast blows and the huge form of the light blade moved in tandem without any of the resistance of a normal large weapon. It practically filled the space with light, hunting all of the smaller Heartless with extreme numbers and Leon's own near-perfect timing. Even the shaky movements of the Hookbats would be hard pressed to throw off this man's ability to follow them with his weapon. In the meantime, even as the blade swung through the walls, ceiling, floor and even Cid Highwind himself nothing but the Heartless would actually be struck by the light, as Leon's heart designated nothing but them as a target. The pilot would have the blade simply pass right through him unless he was touched by the real sword at the core, which Squall wouldn't be doing of course.
"We should get to the lab quickly," he stated, as if nothing here happening.

_CID & LEON__
Caught completely by surprise, the Neoshadow fell to Leon's attack in a blast of black smoke. Similarly, Leon's rain of blows fell hard and swift on the flock of Hook Bats, effectively demolishing all Heartless resistance in the immediate area.

Ah, a familiar face.
Cid glared at his friend who had requested for his assistance while he patted the large rather unnecessary looking orange belt around his waist. Just to check if the thing he was suppose to bring was still there. Fortunately, the bulky object was still protruding from the back of the belt. Then Cid proceeded to stand by and let Leon do the rest of the work. Between the two, the young man was better outfitted for jobs like these. Not to mention that gunblade of his was suited for tight spaces.
He had seen Leon use this ability plenty of times, but the pilot still flinched as the blade slashed right through him. If it had been anyone else waving around that sword, Cid would have been split in two. It tickled slightly, and there was a surge of heat, but like always, the blond was unharmed. Sometimes, Highwind marveled at Leon’s heart and control.
“Here ye go,” Cid pulled out the hard drive as the last of the heartless was destroyed, showing it to the young man as he began walking towards lab, leading the way. “Something’s up with Tron?”
