Dreams
The residue is jealous See me on the dark side of your mind
Out of the haze she came, feeling the heat of the sun streaming through the window on her sheets, warming her waist, hips, and legs. It had been warm for a while, but now it seemed like an oven. Groggily, Aoide rolled out of the way of the sunlight, feeling the coolness of the other side of her bed. Satisfied, she snuggled deeper into the depths of her dreams.
That is, until, her alarm clock began screeching.
In a flash, Aiode whipped around and whacked the digital clock with her palm, hitting multiple times until the noise ceased. Five more minutes, she thought, retrieving her hand from the night stand and keeping it with her under the warm protection of the thick quilt. Yet she knew that she would have to get up sometime--the day was coming, and with it, chores. After a couple minutes, the digital clock began it's noisy wake-up call.
"All right, all right, I'll get up..." she told it, locating the "snooze" button and then the "sleep" button. Although Aiode knew that it was 6:30 in the morning, she would have to keep asking her mother throughout the day exactly what time it was--they still hadn't made clocks for the blind.
I want to get my hands on him To a club that's pounding in the London rain
After a five-minute grope to the bathroom, Aiode stood in the shower, warm water soaking her pale body. She recounted the fragments of last night's dreams, and wondered where she had come up with it.
Even though she couldn't see it, she knew that she was in an elevator. Probably the tiniest elevator on the planet. She was crammed in there, all by herself, and she could hardly breathe. Her goal was the 1005th floor of this very tall skyscraper--it was the very top floor, but she didn't know why she had to go there. All she knew was that she had to get up to that floor... and then unload all this stuff that suddenly appeared inside the now-much larger elevator. She had a difficult time unloading it, because she knew that if the elevator door closed on her, she would be taken all the way down to the first floor.
After unloading nearly everything, there was one last thing to unload--a baby blanket. It was on the far side of the room, but she knew that if she picked it up and ran back to the door in time, she would make it. So she did pick up the rather foul-smelling baby blanket and dashed to the elevator door, only to find herself colliding with the door and boucing back into the floor. That was when she woke up.
The world could end we wouldn't hear it I know just what's on your mind
She groped around the shower looking for her shampoo. It was the one with the cone on top. The conditioner had a pyramid. Everything was labeled by shape. The bar soap was obvious--the slipperiest thing in the whole tub. Some other things were more obvious to define, such as a sponge, a toothbrush, etc. Yet, each day was a small challenge. Don't even start about the, well, more special days. Her mother just usually let her stay home then.
Outside of the bathroom, all tidied up, Aiode pushed a CD into her disc player and let the quiet rock music fill every crevice of her room. She groped around for the dresser--in every one there was a plastic bag containing a different outfit that matched, plus a small note in braille that told her which shoes to wear with it.
Her mother would make these for her, knowing that her blind daughter had no sense of fashion because of her blindness. Aiode liked to wear things that felt good, not what looked good. What difference did it make to her? It wasn't like she cared what people thought about her dresswear. Then again, she didn't want people to avoid her and think she was a complete freak, so it was up to her mother to make sure Aiode didn't walk out in public looking like a clown.
I see the way your face has changed We're no good for each other
The shorts didn't fit quite right--they were a little too loose, especially on the hips. Did she lose weight? Aiode hoped not, because she really didn't want to become one of those anorexic skeleton girls that some people found so charming. Aiode liked being full. If she could have it her way, she would be just a little under overweight. AND she would look good doing it--it was sort of her goal in life, to pull off things never pulled off before. Like the beauty in strangeness thing. She had TOTALLY pulled it off.
In the end after changing both shirts and shorts, Aiode was wearing a yellow and purple striped fitted tee with deep blue jeans. She also wore her lucky belt--a black leather strap with flat, silver studs. The bend in the middle told of many tales of being worn. If it could speak, it would weave a long story of the last few years of Aiode's life--that's how old it was. Not only was it lucky, it was the only belt that fitted her hips perfectly. She wore it often. As for shoes, Aiode let comfort decide. She really wasn't going to do chores in stiletto heels, after all (as if she had any). They were mainly black, so they didn't conflict with her choice in shirt or pants.
After washing dishes, sweeping floors, and cleaning toilet bowls, her mother sent her off to the market for grocery items. Aiode's mother wasn't the least bit worried about her blind daughter out wandering the streets of Radiant Garden. After joining the Hollow Bastion Restoration Comittee, she felt safe that no real harm would come to her daughter. It was a huge overstatement, but one that kept wrinkles and worry lines from invading her face.
Printed out from the computer in braille was the shopping list: eggs, chocolate, lettuce, tomato, and a bunch of hamburger meats. Looks like we're having burgers tonight, Aiode thought as she brandished her walking stick and set out into the Radiant atmoshpere.
You tricked me into coming here

OOC: Holy Ra! That's long... that whats she said. LOL. Anyways this should be fun.
Radiant Garden... not so radiant. Looking at her new surroundings, you would have to agree with her, all there was was brick and pipe... and maybe the occasional neon light. But that's all there was to it, Riclae didn't really now why she was here. Only that the memories inside her head showed that this was another place, that the orginal person had visted when she was younger. But walking throught the market, there was... joy and peace. Riclae decided to walk over to one of the stands and start her search from there. Excuse me... sir. The clerk turned around to see his customer, standing in from him was a woman, probably in her early twenties. Her hair, a light brown in color, falling down to where it just brushes with her shoulder, the way it’s style is that it’s has some jaggedness to the end of it. The bangs sweep to the right side partically covering her right eye. But moving his eyes down to look at the rest of her, her attire was lacking, it would seem that covering most of her body was a single black cloak that stopped right at the ankles, her shoewear was high laced-up black boots. Talk about your lack of style. The clerk thought, but went ahead said to her Yes, how can I help you today Miss? I... was wondering... have you seen anybody... that would have... light brown hair and would be 13? The clerk was completely baffled by this, Talk about lacking, not to mention this woman seems to have a few screws loose. But keeping himself from being rude he just had to ask No sorry Miss, can't say that I've seen someone that matches your description. Is this person a friend? I... I don't think so. Could this person be a family member? I... I... don't thi... ARGH! Just at that moment Riclae got headsplitting head, causing her to grab her head, wincing in pain and walk backwards. The clerk was shocked by this change of attitude but his concern was with the fact that this woman was going walk backwards off the ledge down on to the stairs 8' feet below Hey Miss! Wait stop you're going to fall, STOP! The clerk jumped over his countertop, and tried to grab the woman but she end up flipping over the low walling and started falling. Riclae, couldn't comperhenced what was going on, all she could see were flashbacks of the memories again, but she did however feel that she had hit something and was now falling. The pain... the memories why is this happening to her? Then everything went black, and she hear was a voice talking to her. So this how you'll die, well this saves me the trouble of killing you myself. Enjoy your death. Then the next thing she knew she had landed... on someone. Well at least the pain stopped, but now she would need to see who she had landed on and see if they were okay.
OOC2:Hope you don't mind if I make a "crash landing".

Thomas wasn't entirely sure how he'd ended up on this world. As always, his memory was foggy, but he knew, somehow, that this world was called Radiant Garden.
He had walked out of the inn he assumed he'd paid for, as the innkeeper didn't stop him from leaving. What he hadn't expected though, was a woman falling on top of him.
His sword, Nanashi, and his physique had allowed him to be realtively unscathed, in pain yes, but unscathed.
He tried to turn to look at her, but she was still on top of him. So he settled for, "Excuse me, are you okay?"
[OOC: Yes, Thomas is more concerned about Riclae then himself.]

Canter
On the outside that’s where they always hide
She inhaled the fresh afternoon air. Well, mid-morning. It was good weather today, like just about always. Her walking stick rumbled and tumbled before her, sensing road blocks and letting others know who she was. Well, most people in this town knew her--it was hard to not know everyone, unless you were some sort of recluse. It was quiet out, just like every day when she left the house. As she neared the market, it got louder with the sounds of children playing, people ordering and bargaining market rats. She heard snatches of conversation as people passed by.
"Did you hear about Jason? Oh, he's such a..." "...and I never knew why she decided to..." "Stop! I know what you're going to tell me..." "...like some kind of mind-reader..."
It was amusing to Aiode. Some people, if you listened to their conversations, became so vain and self-centered. She smiled and pressed on towards the shop she was looking for. The man behind the vegetable stand greeted her warmly.
"Ah, Aiode, welcome back! How have you been?"
"Very well, Mark, thank you," replied Aiode sweetly. "I've got a list for dinner stuffs."
"Good! Good!" said Mark, "Read it to me, and I'll have your things in a jif." Mark would have taken the list from her and checked it off as he went gathering the groceries, yet he couldn't read the raised-dot braille that Aiode was so fluent in. The first time he tried, he gave up and asked her to read it for him anyways.
After all things had been gathered and paid for, Aiode tried making conversation with him. "So, has anything been going on lately?" asked Aiode. She heard Mark scratch his head.
"No, not really," he told her, "There's been a few oddballs here and there. Some girl came up to me asking about this person she doesn't even know. Took a nasty spill right over there--I hope she's safe." Mark ended the conversation by beginning to fill another order he recieved.
"Oh! I do hope they're okay..." said Aiode. She wanted to look over at the spectacle, but she didn't even know where they were, first off. Maybe in all the hullabaloo?
On the outside that’s where they always hide
Aiode guided herself with the walking stick over to where so much noise was being made and pointed her head in that direction, hoping that she was speaking to that girl that fell over.
"Are you all right?" she asked. It was at this point she became self-conscious about her eyes. Kids always teased her for looking like a freak, with her bright white hair and dead eyes. Hopefully this girl would overlook that fact and see the person inside the blind eyes. "Mark told me you took a bad spill--nothing's broken, right?"
come to my side and I’ll introduce you to some of their kind
Lyrics; Green Mind by Dinosaur Jr. Word count; 498 (+lyrics) Notes; Feh, I suck at conversation... It was really hard to work with something like that, I'm sorry. >.<

Riclae tried standing up but when she moved her head forward, she ended up slamming her head into the wall. Well so much for getting rid of her headache. Now many people were crowding around her, and she could think straight. In all the buzz, she could hear the voice again talking to her from among the crowd, So you live after all, you should be thanking the lump that saved you. Then just pretend like nothing happened, just remember that you're nothing without me. Riclae started rubbing her forehead with her left hand, and just to make sure she didn't look weird enough she started trying to reply back to everyone that was asking her. I'm... I'm alright... just hit... my head is all. She stood up and turned to thank her savior, an interesting hybird of a person. I'm sorry... are you... hurt? Riclae then got another headache that caused her to fall and lean against a girl, but just as quickly as it came it was gone. She pulled herself back up and turned to apologize to the girl. Upon closer examination she notice that this girl, almost white as snow, was blind. But seeing as it didn't matter right she took a bow, apologizing for her action. I'm... sorry... so so sorry. Is there... anything I... can do. To make up... for this action? She raised herself up and waited to see if anything could be done to redeem herself.
OOC: It's okay, the best thing to keep in mind is to be adaptive. Sorry my conversation with you, Homac was super short. But hey when you have a headache, you have a headache. LOL

Thomas pushed himself up, groaning slightly as he did. He looked at the girl who'd landed on him. She seemed to be having some kind of headache, as she was stumbling while trying to get up.
He heard her ask what she could do to make up for her action. "Well," he said, "there's really nothing to make up for. You fell, I acted as a cushion. That's all there is to it. But... could you tell me what world this is? I want to say Radiant Garden, but I'm not sure."

Divine
Said i'm gonna buy this place and see it go, and stand here beside me baby, watch the orange glow.
Suddenly, she became aware of another person in the wreckage. She had already asked if they were okay, and meant it for the girl, but now felt that it extended to the man. Maybe she landed on him? He must have been angry... If he was, then well, he didn't show it. But, there was something about them that bothered Aiode. It wasn't they way they talked... it was who they were talking to. Their conversation excluded her, as if she didn't exist. It was strange to Aiode. She was used to being stared at, talked about, and generally made a spectacle of. Now that someone ignored her, she didn't know how to react. Leave or stay? Ask once again or grab a temper? She knew that being angry with them would only start a fight. After all, anger was only one letter short of danger. Then again, she hadn't thought to bring Cantare--Aiode's possessed sword that could lead her through battles. If there was going to be a fight, she didn't want to start it. Of all things to start, an all-out melee was not one of them. That was for the bad guys.
Someone laughed, some just sit and cry. She just sit down there and you wonder why.
So, Aiode decided to play the nice card.
"Are you two okay?" she asked once again, rephrasing it to involve the other body. She backed off to give them some space--maybe others were ogling the spectacle as well. As it were, she eventually bumped into someone standing behind her, who it turn backed off. This created a domino-like reaction in the crowd. Others were telling others to back off, give them some air. Aiode wondered if someone was helping them up. If not, that would be a long time to be sitting on top of someone. She was sure the person underneath would have begun suffocating or something. Then again, she had no idea what type of build these people had. The girl could have been small and frail, he tall and heavyset so that the fall couldn't have hurt either in any way.
Aiode had no other options but to sit and wait. There was nothing she could do to help them, and as much as she hated it, it was what she was cursed with.
So i'm gonna buy a gun and start a war, if you can tell me something worth fighting for.

My question was directed at you Khimera, I really don't know how Homac thought the question was directed at him... no insult on you though Homac. Maybe it was my fault for not saying something right.
Riclae heard the question asked again, as she started looking around her people were starting to go their seperate ways, the only person left beside the hybrid was now the blind girl who was sitting on the steps "looking" in her general direction. Trying not to seem rude again, even though it did seem like she was rude right now. So to make it she decided to sit right next to the girl, just so she could know. She turned back to the hybrid, saying to him I… don’t know… do you know… Miss… Hoping that she could help not just this hybrid but her as well. Riclae was completely lost, she was just following her memories.
You truly are a waste of being, don’t even know where you are. I really should end your existence here and now, but I’m not in the mood right now. Maybe another time… Riclae.
OOC: Alright the conversation should get rolling better now, and so we start step one of a proper conversation, the names. Then maybe we could some fighting in a little later. I have an idea for one, but of course it is your thread Khimera so I don’t want to be rude and just ruin something good.

[OOC: Nah, Thomas just heard a question, assumed it was directed at him, and answered.]
Thomas stood up and looked at the two girls, one of who was blind, judging by her eyes.
He half waved at the two and said, "Yes, I'm fine. I'm a little lost though. Could one of you two please tell me what this world is? It'd be a big help, seeing as I woke up in an Inn I don't remember paying for."
He then turned to pointedly look at Riclae and said, "But then again, you seem to be as confused, or maybe more counfused, than I am."

Valor
Hello Moonglow I need you here
Aiode took a step forward, daring to speak with these strangers. "Sir... you're in Radiant Garden... But some people call it Hollow Bastion." She wasn't sure which name to give them, so she chose the one that sounded better in people's ears. Hollow Bastion sounded like second to Hell. She took another step forward, trying to make further contact with the strangers. "And... if you need anything, you should go ask Leon. He's the head of the Hollow Bastion Restoration Comittee." She wanted to really talk to these people, maybe be her friends... It was a long time since anyone had been her friend. Maybe directing them to Leon wasn't the best thing... but it certainly was a good thing.
Don't disappear Bring your halo
Presently, Aiode crouched low, sitting on her heels with one hand holding her up on the cobblestone floor. "But... if you need a place to stay, you can both stay at my house. I mean," Aidoe searched for something to say, and then found it. Okay, it was a fib, but then again, she didn't really know... "...Leon's out anyway."
Her heart told her that it was a sin to lie, but Aiode pointed out that she didn't know if he really was out or not--he could be anywhere, the way Leon was. The man couldn't be tamed, yet you could always count on him to be there when you needed him. This wasn't a desperate situation... and she went compromising with herself like that. It was like she was two people in one body. One always wanted to do bad things, while one always wanted to do good. Her mother said that was her conscience telling her to do good things. She once asked what was telling her to do bad things. Her mother told her that was Aiode all on her own, the perfectly bad person. It was her conscience making her be a good girl. Aiode was never the same after that, believing in full that she was really truthfully evil on the inside.
Don't let me down Come shin around
Lyrics; Hello Moonglow by Heart Word count; 357 (+lyrics) Notes; Lol no, Aiode didn't know that anything was directed at her. It's because she's blind, so she doesn't know whether or not someone is actually talking to her unless they say her name. :P I'm still having a hard time with the dialogue. My posts are becoming progressively smaller....

Thomas nodded, then realized that she wouldn't be able to see that, and said, "Thank you very much. My name is Thomas Wolfe, and it's good to know that there are good people willing to help someone in need."
As he said this, he shook the small girl's hand, being careful not to shake too hard, and then said, "I'd be in your debt if you could lead me there."

Time
Well they're staring all night and They're staring all day
Aiode felt a tug on her hand and pulled it back, but only slightly, stopped by shock and confusion. Not once in her life had anyone "shook" her hand. She had just been fine with formal introductions, no personal contact needed. What she didn't see was that most people she met would hold out their hand for her to take it, but then thought, "oh, she can't see it," and then retract their hand. She hated having to meet children because they figured that because she was "disabled", that also meant she was deaf. So after about a moment of listening to long, loud and clearly spoken words, Aiode would tell them to shut up and corrected them in the fact that she was blind and not deaf and not try any funny business either because just as soon as they tried anything their ass would be halfway across the universe in a cryogenic tube. Of course, that was just to scare them. She really couldn't do anything.
I had no reason to be here at all But now i gotta reason it's no real reason And I'm waiting at the Berlin Wall
After the hand-shaking moment, Aiode replied, "It's nice to meet you Thomas Wolfe. I'm Aiode." She turned her head in the direction she though the other girl was in, but couldn't be completely sure. People passed by, and the scuffle of their shoes confused her as to whether or not the girl was there, but she decided to ask, "And what is your name?" Hopefully the fall hadn't given her amnesia. Aiode had heard that hitting your head hard enough could give you amnesia. She had never experienced it herself, but knew that it varied--you could lose your memory forever, a few hours, or even a couple minutes. You could forget certain things... but Aiode only had heard and read stories about it. Experiencing it, or rather, seeing others experience it, was a completely different thing.
Gotta go over the Berlin Wall I don't understand it....

Well seeing as things were going smoothly, Riclae felt satify. Just looking at this converstation made things more at peace. Now seeing as it was her turn, she stood up, dusted herself a little then took Aoide's hand just like Thomas did. My name... is Riclae. I... truely thank you. Ah, how cute Riclae, you've made some friends. It truely warms me all up knowing that I will be the one to kill them later. Again why does this malice voice keep talking to her, what does it want with her, or a better question how does it know her? Ignore it, right now think of what's in front of you, "friends". That truely was something foreign to her, but she was sure that it will be something that will come to her naturally.

In my dreams I'm dying all the time As I wake its kalidescope mind
Again, Aiode felt someone tug on her hand, but pulled it away this time. Why did these people want to touch her? Hopefully it was the last time. It's not like she hated everyone, it was just that most people didn't want to touch her, like her blindness was a disease they could catch. Besides, the only person she let touch her was her mother, and even then her mother only gave her a gentle push on the shoulder to show her where to go, or a gentle touch (again on the shoudler) to protect her from tripping on the open door oven. It wasn't often that Aiode felt the hands of another person. Even exploring her own hands was an alien action. They were so strange, yet so useful. Maybe even more useful if she had sight.
I never meant to hurt you I never meant to lie
"I... I'm sorry..." she told Riclae, "I'm not used to... touching other people's hands." As if recognising her own, she massaged the touched hand, still feeling the warmth of the physical contact. She turned halfway to the street, adressing the others, "I still have to get one more grocery item. If you would be so kind, please follow me, and after we'll be going home." With that, she brandished her cane and went off into the busy marketplace, sure that they would follow her, or at least look for her if they had lost sight of her. Aiode hoped that they wouldn't be left behind. They were so kind as to not realizing her blindness, or at least not mentioning it. Also, she really wanted to have friends. Hopefully they wouldn't leave her after realizing how seriously disabled she was.
So this is goodbye This is goodbye.

Thomas looked confused at Aiode's statement. She wasn't used to touching other people's hands? Even if she was blind, that seemed odd to him. Then again, he couldn't remember why he found that odd in the first place, so...
As he turned to follow the girl, he said, "Again, thank you for the help. I'd be glad to help you with your shopping."
Then, he looked over at Riclae, and said, "Well miss Riclae, shall we go?"
