A darkness has settled upon the Savannah known as the Pride Lands. The kingdom of the animals, the pride of the lions. The once blue skies have turned a dark color, an ashen color. A dense fog has settled upon the elephant grave yard and much of the other areas of the Savannah. The sun doesn't shine in the same way, hidden behind the ashen'd skies. The gray clouds. Rain has also settled upon the land, making it even more drearier. Even the green forest has become darker, it has become surrounded in a dense fog as well, but it's a bit odd. Animals who go inside the forest and inhale the fog, never seem to come out. Some have suspected that it is poisonous. The hyenas have been going beyond the boundaries of the graveyard, and into the Pride lands where the lions and other peaceful creatures roam. They have been slaughtering animals, zebras. Much more so than they should be. Lion cubs have been stolen, probably killed. Eaten.
Even the great Pride Rock has been shadowed in darkness, in an eerie fog that are making the lions worried, especially with Simba, their pride leader gone and Nala. Oh, poor Nala. She has seemed to become shallowed in darkness as well. Darkness of the heart maybe? With her love gone, protecting other worlds with Sora and the gang. Has her heart turned cold? Because she thinks her love has abandoned her? The other lionesses have noticed that she has become a bit withdrawn from them, that she seems to isolate herself from them. She is often seen by herself like something has possessed her. Her eyes don't have the same glow, the same shimmer as they once did. They almost seem darker, is Nala the cause of all of this? Of the Pride Lands becoming sheathed in darkness?
Who will come and save this Savannah, the pride lands? Outsiders? Adventurers? The lions themselves? Other Savannah creatures? Elephants? Zebras? Other cat like creatures? Will Simba come back?

It was a normal day for the young teenage lioness, play. Sleep. And everything in between. But, she had to be cautious now a days. There were more threats out there, she had seen many cubs taken. Cubs she used to play with. The hyenas were beginning to go beyond the boundaries of the boneyard. But, Elsa was not afraid of them. The sky had become gray, she noticed that. There was something..eerie. And she noticed changes with their queen, Nala. Oh, how the young lioness missed the old days. The sunny days.
She decided to go away from the bloom of the pride rock, other cubs were fearful and wouldn't play. Some didn't even leave the cave. Chicken wusses, she thought to herself. She walked through the tall browned grass. It covered most of her body, she slinked through it. She was safe as long as she stayed near the pride rock. She saw a bug hoping along and decided to pounce on it---
W-wha?
She might have run into someone...well pounced into them.

Thomas had only been awake on the odd world for an hour, and he was already frustrated with it.
When he'd awoken, he'd found that he wasn't human anymore, due to magic of some kind, he supposed, and was instead some kind of dog or wolf. The next thing he'd noticed was that Nanashi, the only constant he'd had in his odd life, was gone, though he could feel the sword near him. The last was that, to his dismay, his chains were plainly visible on his fur now, with the lock centered in the middle of his back, as usual.
He'd wandered around the plains, staying low, but heading towards a large rock formation in the distance. He had closed in on it, when he heard movement. Stopping on the ground, he was suprised when a lioness landed on him, knocking him to the ground, though he managed to get back up and turn to face her. Was she an enemy? Or was it a misunderstanding?

This place was definitely... different.
When Kassom had first wandered onto the Pride Lands he'd realized right away that this place played differently than any other world he'd ever visited. For one thing, his clothes vanished. The rags he could bear to part with, sure, but his bodysuit and knife belts?! That was just unforgivable. Strangely enough the knives themselves had stayed with him -- very fortunate, since neither he nor Ilaelis much liked the idea of digging around for replacement metal that was bound to be inferior.
But that's where he'd hit the second snag on this world's quirky rules: no hands. Reduced to walking about on all fours wasn't a real shock to him -- he was fastest that way, even in his normal state -- but having paws instead of hands and feet was not a very useful state of affairs. For one, he couldn't use his weapons in anything resembling a useful manner. Ultimately Ilaelis had ended up deciding to have the metal "shadow" them underground for now, until they found a way to turn Kassom's body back to normal.
That had all been three days ago. Wandering at random through jungle, wasteland, and plains without any immediate material protection left the young lynx feeling a bit exposed... but even so, the charm of this place took his interest. It was a lot like home to him; aside from apparently having no settlements or villages (and the strange shape-shifting bit) he could've easily mistaken this place for Kurai. Even the dark, hazy skies and the lingering fog had a certain appeal; Ilaelis mentioned briefly how similar it was to Nasakenai Valley, the Kinzoku's home on Kurai.
Since it had come into view, Kassom had been heading for a towering rock spire that dominated the open grasslands. That, he figured, was the best possible place to get a lay of the land and figure out his next move. He was nearly there when his keen senses picked up something about fifty feet away... it sounded like something moving through the grass... no, two somethings, heading more or less right toward each other.
<<Could be trouble.>> Ilaelis advised, the demon's voice echoing in Kassom's mind. <<Hang back and listen in. We might learn something useful.>>

The young lioness had indeed jumped onto something, that wasn't a bug. She pounced away, to get a better look at what she had 'caught'. She saw the thing looking over at her. It looked like..a hyena. She started to growl, going into a defensive position.
"Who are you? What are you doing at Pride Rock?" She asked, gritting her teeth as she growled. Well, her growl wasn't all that frightening but she tried. As she surveyed the creature, she noticed..it looked more like..a dog of some kind. A wild dog? She had seen some wild dogs before..but they were more different. Elsa couldn't put her paw on what kind of animal this was.

Thomas looked confused at the lioness' questions for two reasons.
One: As far as he knew, which wasn't saying much due to his amnesia, he was pretty certain animals didn't talk. This point was hurt by the fact that he himself was an animal.
The second he voiced out loud, "Pride Rock? What's that? I'm not from around here, and I just happened to wander in this direction when you attacked me." As he finished his sentence, he instinctively tensed so he could move in case she attacked again.
"And my name is Thomas Wolfe. I don't remember much else."

'Aw, isn't that cute.' Kassom mused, his thoughts thick with sarcasm. He'd let Ilaelis take partial control for the moment, just enough to boost his hearing to beyond-natural levels. Slinking slowly and silently through the tall grass at around fifty feet distant from the small lioness and the dog-person, the feral rogue's eyes gleamed with a faint silver sheen -- a subtle sign of his master's influence -- as he listened in, all the while making his way towards what he assumed to be Pride Rock. I mean, it seemed a fitting name for such a tower of natural stone, so surely that's what the cub had been alluding to.
<<Just keep your head down, kid. There's no rush. Heck, maybe one of these two will say something useful.>>

Oh man what the heck happened?! One minute he was in a ship on the search for Lucy, then the other he's in the middle of a savannah. As an animal on top of that! Marcus for a time was trying to carry his staff, but due to it's large size and weight in comparison to him it failed. So Marcus decided to transform it into its ring form and just carry it that way. So here is Marcus going through high grass wearing a "ring collar" and completely lost. It all seem doomed, but Marcus climbed onto a rock. *Scurry* *Sniff* *Flinch!* I smell something. In... looking around trying to catch the direction of the smell he found it to be just north of him. that direction. Maybe whoever it is can help. Marcus jumped off the rock, and started scurrying, tail "high" in the high grass, towards the smell.

Elsa backed down a bit as the wolf said he wasn't from around here, a new kid eh? She kept her guard up though as she stood on all fours in the dying grass. "Not from around here? Are you from the Elephant Graveyard? Are you allied with the hyenas?" She asked him, glaring at him. Trying to get something out of him, she wasn't a very good detective but she could try. She had yet to know that there were others, her attention as of the moment was towards Thomas Wolfe. He has such a weird name.
If he was really not from around here, then he wasn't from the Graveyard either?

Thomas blinked, confused at the lioness' rather pushy questions. "Elephant Graveyard? Where's that? I've never been anywhere that would fit that name. And I don't have any allies that I can remember. As I said, I'm not from anywhere around here. I just woke up in the plains a ways back, with most of my memory missing. From what I can tell though, it's common with me. And it has something to do with these chains on me."
As he finished his explanation, he realized he could smell someone or thing coming towards him. He turned to where Marcus was heading towards them, and said, "And I can smell someone over there, coming closer to us."

'Sounds like we're not the only ones new to this place.' Kassom mused, still listening in from a safe distance. By this point he had almost circled around behind the young lioness, putting himself in-between her and what was surely Pride Rock. That would leave his options wide open for his next move; if things got interesting with these kids he'd stick around, maybe even step in, and if not he could just head up to that peak and take a look around like he'd originally planned.
<<True, but that's hardly anything profound.>> Ilaelis retorted. <<Keep your wits about you, kid. There's some kinda darkness about... but I can't pin it down. Don't drop your guard.>>
'Right, will do.'

It was almost impossible to see anything in front of his face. The only thing he had to go by was the smell. Wait why am I running torwards this smell? I mean it could be bad for all I know. Marcus popped out of the high grass, to come face to face with a lioness and hyena-look alike. Oh crap! Think fast! *Flinch!* Marcus locked up and fell to the ground playing dead. ... I'm going to die now, from my own stupidity.

Elsa heard what Thomas said, that he wasn't from around here that he didn't remember much. It sounded so like Elsa's case. She had found herself here one day, when she was much younger and didn't remember much. She had called this place home ever since. S-so..if he wasn't from here, where was he from? Elsa had never known anything else, besides the plains..the Elephant Graveyard. And the other places around here, in this Savannah. H-had he traveled here from a far away place?
Elsa looked towards where Thomas had turned, saying he smelled something. Elsa sniffed the air and smelled something as well..a rodent like creature. No no, it was Meerkat! Just as Elsa figured out what it was, the thing..the meerkat came face to face with her and then fell down. Elsa tilted her head. "..no need to fear us lil' meerkat." She said to him, then put her paw on his stomach, shaking him with it.

Thomas looked curiously at the small rat-thing that fell over at their feet.
'I-is it dead?' He then noted Marcus' heartbeat, having heard it of all things. This new body really was amazing!
He tried to sound reassuring as he said, "Yeah, I don't think we're going to hurt you. Or at least I'm not, and I'm sure she's not... I can't really vouch for anyone else."
Maybe that wasn't the most reassuring thing to say. Just maybe.
He could still smell something lurking around somewhere, so maybe it was good advice.

(OOC: This might turn out to be a bit of a plot tangent, but...)
Kassom shook his head and shrugged. It seemed like they were just kids after all... which meant there wasn't much point sticking around. Still moving like a shadow through the grasses the young rogue began to make his way towards the towering Pride Rock.
The closer he got, the more its sheer size and dominance over the area became apparent... and a strange musk grew in scent. Kassom was more used to using his ears than his nose to figure things out, but some part of him deep down nagged that the scent was somehow important, like a warning. Still, he pressed on.
It was only a few minutes later, after ascending the initial rise, that Kassom Sercha discovered what that lingering smell was. A distinctly unfriendly growl came from behind him -- more than one, in fact -- and a quick look over his shoulder confirmed that a small group of lionesses was stalking towards him from behind. Then another group came bounding down from a cave higher up, cutting him off both ways. Not good.
"Uh... sorry, ladies?" He nervously apologized, not wanting to spark a fight if he didn't have to. "I guess I'm kinda lost. Just wanted to, y'know, get my bearings from up here, that's all. Didn't mean to cause any trouble, honest."

Marcus was shaking, not only just because the lioness was shaking his stomach, but also cause he thought he was going to die too.
Of the two had put him at ease with that thought. Marcus stood up and shook himself to get some of the dirt off. In comparison with the rest of the group he was exteremely small, but he with his voice he tried to make himself seem big.
Sorry about that, I guess just seeing you two scared me there. Um... I've seem to have gotten lost so uh... do you two know where I am?
