Breccin looked over this man, Listen I really don't care what story you had planned out but Ms. Cutting already told me what she wanted. Unfortunately for you... I'm not the cap'n. I'm just about to see if the cap'n is in. CRASH!!!! The sound of glass crashing was heard, Breccin opened the door but as soon as he did a dark mass jumped on him slamming him against the wall. Then it turned to face Roy, at this point the lights that were on suddenly went out, leaving only two pairs of eyes, one glowing an amber color and the other pair, high above the other eyes, blood red. The mass dashed jumping over Roy and continued down the hallway.

It had all happened so fast. What had started out as approaching mundane was quickly and very loudly turned to chaos. He yelped, took a step back, but found enough courage to say. "What are you d...?"
When the lights went out, and he was met with those four eyes, he realized this was no ordinary ambusher. "Mee...mee...meep!" For what seemed like an eternity he stared into those eyes, until it charged. He threw his hands up defensively, feeling the wind rush by overhead.
It wasn't until the monster's footfalls had faded away that he realized he was safe. At that point, he nearly fainted on the spot.
"Heh... heh heh... Okay, I think I wanna go home now." Numb, he leaned on the wall and felt around. "First mate? You all right?" He leaned into the open doorway. "C-captain?" It was pointless, talking to two probable corpses, but the only other option was running after the monster. The Captain may be a hero, but Roy Onell was anything but suicidal.

Maria had gone down to the bar to go talk with the barkeep again. She was sitting there waiting for him to come back to the front counter when the sound of wood splinting was heard. The remaining drinkers that were just sitting there turned their head to the sound. A few minutes later, all the candles that were burning dimly all went at the same time leaving the room in the dark. So its back. What? CRASH!!! Something crashed front behind the backroom, where earlier the barkeeper had gone. Maria tried following the sound when it had landed a few feet in front of her. All she saw were two pairs of eyes, the same ones that Roy had just seen a few seconds ago. Then the eyes turned around and crashed through the door and out into the dark night. Maria just stood there for a split second frozen by what she had seen, but it pass as she ran out the door and looked in all directions to see if she could see it. Damn! She took a step and heard what sounded like something crunching and slooshing, she looked down and quickly stepped back until she fell on her butt. The look on her face meant that something really scared her badly, just a few feet in front of her was a dismembered hand the end where it was cut off was torn and rugged, the bone shattered at the end also.

"Cap'n?" Roy asked, like a child asking for his mother, "You in here, Cap'n?" He stumbled, leaned against the wall, took a deep breath, and nearly fainted again. "This is so not good. Darn it, why'd this have to happen now? The Captain could handle this so much better than I could." He tripped again; evidently the room wasn't exactly the tidiest. "Stupid lights, going out at just the right stupid time but then not coming back stupid on when they're stupid needed."
He groped around for the window, pulled past the curtain, and poked his head out. He had a good view of the street in front of the hotel, and he saw Maria when she came out. Quickly, he pulled his head back. "Come on, Roy. You can't let her see you scared. Not her, you got it?" Putting on a brave, serious face, he emerged from the room once again.
"Maria, you all right?" He looked around, and thankfully for his facade he missed the hand at first. "It came out of this room, the Captain's. I couldn't get a good look at it before the lights went out. He might be in the room still, but I can't see a thing. He's probably..." Don't choke now, Roy. "...the first mate got blindsided. He's not moving."

You may want to let it out now. Was the only thing that Gram had to say cause he knew what was going on in Maria, both her mind and body, but more importantly her body. Taking Gram on his advice, her stomach did somersaults as she move head of to the side and threw up. For a moment she was just kneeling there on all fours, staring at the now "colored" ground in disbelieve of what she had just seen. This thing kill possibly not just one but three men, and there was nothing she could do about it. Maria don't tell yourself, if you were listening to Roy, it's possible there may be a man alive right now. Of course you would say that you're dead. Then everything went as Maria had retreated to the inside of her mind, this didn't seem to faze her. A figure walked up to her, Maria looked up to see that it was Gram, as soon as she made eye contact with him Gram grabbed her and pulled her up to his level and gave her a serious talk. Yes I would say this cause I'm dead, but I would still say if I was still alive. I'll admit you have seen death, but you've never experinced it like I have. I'm trying my best here to show what a real member of The Guard would do, but up till now you been acting like a fresh little soldier. You're scared I know, but you have to do better than that. You got me? Maria was shocked by this, this was one of those rare times that Gram ever got serious on her and... it scared her. But she nodded all the same without really think. Gram saw he made his point across and he let her go, as soon as he did Maria came to reality to realize she was already standing and facing Roy. Maria took a deep shaking breath, then she changed her expression from that of being scared to that of being a leader. Come on Roy, we need to make sure that Mr. Sid is still breathing. And stay on your guard that thing may come back. As Maria made her back into the now trashed inn, Gram had to smile to himself. That is a true Guard. ((Sorry there's not that much action in this, or character interaction. Much like a story self-character developement is important. Again sorry for the little reply back.))

((Don't worry. I've been hashing out my own characterization, so it's cool.))
Come back? It was a good thing Maria vanished into the hotel; the veneer of bravery peeled off of his face just as soon as she did.
"Ohh...! What in Pete's name have you gotten yourself into, Roy? This was just supposed to be gathering materials, not tracking down a four-eyed..." He sighed, slapping lightly at his own cheeks. "C'mon, Onell. Be brave. You're brave, darn it. Everyone's scared enough without your blubbering."
Shuffling to the door, he muttered more admonishments, slowly regaining his air of courage. Taking a moment to stare down the hall, with a quick look at the female sailor's room, he knelt over the first mate. "Sid! Hey, Mr. Sid. C'mon, lad, wake up." He shook the body gently in an attempt to revive him.

Roy's attempts at waking Breccin weren't exactly the most fruitful results, but the important thing to know that Breccin was still alive. He made moans but never came out of his sleep.
Maria's results were that fruitful, she had stepped into the room that was the Capitan's. It was still dark but the smell of burnt candles were in the air. A sea breeze could be heard, as Maria looked towards the sound she could see that there was a window broken and the curtain was just hanging in shreds. Maria moved over to a dresser that had a candle on it, luckily she found some matches next to candle. She lit a match, then went to lighting the candle. Now with a little more on the subject, she saw that the room was more of a disaster zone than she first thought. Everything was scattered all over the place, but what really caught her eye was that there was blood splattered on the floor. Letting her eyes follow the blood trail she found the source. Laying face down was the body of what appeared to be man in his late forties. As Maria went to turn the body over she noticed that man was missing a hand. An eye for an eye... She did a quick exaime of the body... he was dead, most likely from the blood lost. Maria started rumaging through the room a little bit more, she found a few documents. One of them was paper talking about the release of Laron of her duties. It seem that after this shipment was done he was going to let her go, but not without a good support fund either. The other documents to be apology letters, to families of the shipmates that were killed. But the one important clue that came was the document she was hoping to find... The actual letter made by this "Raven Knox". She folded it up carefully and placed it on the inside of her armor. She looked around again one last time, just under the table in the room was what apparently looked like the a miniture cannon. This must be the Mark I that Breccin was talking about. By the look of these blood skids it seem the Capitan didn't have much of a chance. Maria went and grabbed it, she carried it out of the room and placed it next to Roy. Roy... any luck with Mr. Breccin?

"Nothing. He's out like a light, lucky..." He cleared his throat, looking at the object placed next to him. "Mark I, did you call that thing? Sorry, I'm a swordsman, not a machinist. I don't know too much about that kinda thing."
He rose to his feet. "Maria, I'm worried about Laron and Sid. This... thing... came back specifically for the Captain. I don't think it's an ordinary Heartless if it came all the way here. Can't you... call up your buddies in the Guard or something? This might be a bit much, even if I can get my... I mean, call up my boss to help."

Maria just took a knee and pinched the bridge of her nose... I would have done that a long time ago, the thing is is that there scattered right now doing other missions. So I doubt I would get a response quickly. This thing is smart, seeing as it killed the captain and took his hand, just a the captain took one of it's claws. Maria took a breath and pondered for a bit, she had an idea going through her head but she wasn't sure if it would or heck if anybody would coraporate. So far I think everything is starting to fall in place, so know we just need to stop it. The only thing I can think of right now that can is this Mark I. But seeing as Mr. Breccin is no use right now, we'll have to go to someone else. From what Mr. Breccin said, the only other person who saw the captian use his Mark I was Ms. Loran. It's a bit of a gamble but she'll need to face that thing one more time and finish it off. I'm not sure if she'll fire it right away so we'll need to act a distraction, heck maybe your boss can help with that. But really this all I've got, unless you have some other idea, cause I'm open to some. This was it, they had most of the information needed for this final showdown, but every player would need to be present and ready for the to be fight.

"Help... yes, I'm sure my boss can help." Roy chuckled. "It's certainly like there is no problem with me and the Captain helping with this, at the same time, in the same place. Heh, heh, heh, why should there be a problem?" Inside, Roy was throwing a mini-fit. Oh, man... I'm so screwed. Last time I checked, I can't occupy two different places at once. It just defies physics. But we're taking on a monster that just killed a bunch of people, Roy can't deal with that. But... I can't just change and fight; she'd wonder where Roy went. And I can't tell her that I'm really a Heartless-slaying masked superhero. Darn it! Where's those little angel/devil shoulder things when I need them?
"I'll go get Loran." Roy picked up the gun and trudged over to the door like a man marching to his death. He removed his gloves to stop them glowing in reaction to his stress and stuffed them in his pocket, grabbing the handle and pulling down. "Miss Loran? Ye asleep yet?" He resumed his Gran Rio voice, hoping she had fallen asleep in the perverse hope of delaying this mission. "I's Rio, from the East Heart Trading company. We need yer help a little. You know how to work one of these things?" Holding the gun up, he was prepared to rattle off Maria's plan to her and ask for her assistance.

When Roy knocked on Loran's door, she was actually out like a light, so she never heard the door or any of the other distruction that had insued that night. So telling her about the plan wasn't happening anytime soon. Maria on the other hand propped herself against the wall next to Mr. Breccin and pulled the letter she had put to look at later but decided that now was a better time than anything.
24th day of Highcentre, 13th Year of Reunion To the Captain of the Fren Dor,
Greetings, I am writting this letter in the consideration that you would be more than happy to, on taking up my offer which I'm about to present. I have a package that I need shipped to the port of Ratinum, by the rise of the 13th year of the Crayable month. It's very important that it gets shipped by that time. I understand that this would be short notice, and it would take you time to collect supplies with the money you have so along with this letter I have attached more than enough money to allow you provide the supplies and maybe a little something off on the side. I will have the package ready at the port for you to load onto you ship. I wish you the best of luck.
Raven KnoxAfter reading it, Maria started thinking about it. Something about this letter didn't seem right, for starters this letter asked a crew to deliver something in a short amount time. And another thing, the money was enough to cover for supplies that they would've needed. Something about the date it needed to be by seem to have some importants, she remembered it was something but she couldn't put it together. She may need to ask her leaders about that when this was done but for the time they needed to get rid of the chimera.

"Lorna..." Out cold. She was so gone from the world of the living, she didn't even stir when all that commotion happened. Roy felt a twinge of guilt. She's going to be in for one hell of a morning. Now that her captain's been killed... darn it, is this really the only back-up we can count on?
"Bad news, Maria." Roy said as he came out of the room. "Lorna's getting some much-deserved sleep. She's been in a horrible state for the past few days." Looking over her shoulder, he skimmed the note. "Seems like a typical letter. Maybe the Captain thought he was shipping something personal. Birthday present or something. I know I forget to send out presents until the last minute. Had to put a rush on them and they still came in late." You're babbling, Onell. You know that's a nervous habit. Keep yourself together! "Anyways, unless you wanna try to wait until the morning and hope she wakes up, it looks like we're alone. One of us could try and figure out this doo-dad, use it on that creature."

Maria leaned against the wall that opposing Breccin and just sighed. Who knew how long Breccin was going to be out and Loran was going to be their only means of fighting back. If either of tried to fire the thing the worst that could happen is that it killed them before killing the chimera. She looked towards Roy with tired eyes and shook her head.
I say we wait it out, that things not coming back anytime soon. Seeing as it accomplished what it wanted to do for now. The best course of action is to just wait it out till morning. Even though that things may not be coming back we'll have to make sure it doesn't the two remaining crew members. I'll take the first shift in guard duty, you just go find a place to crash for a few hours I'll get you when it's time.
Not really being gentle at this point Maria grabbed Breccin and just pulled his limp body over to Loran's door and propped it against the wall. Maria sat down on the opposite side of the door. Reaching inside her armor she pulled a smashed package of cigerrettes took one lit it, and just laid it on top of the package.
Finally I can "smoke", thank you Maria.

Sleep? How could Roy think of sleep at a time like... He yawned, hopelessly unable to fight it. It was late, and he had definitely been through a lot in the past couple of hours. Resigning himself to some well-deserved shut-eye, he made his way to Breccin's room. Hey, someone had to take advantage of it.
He flopped down in a chair, not trusting the extremely comfortable looking bed to only take him for a few hours. He was nodding off almost before his rear hit the seat.
Darkness. The back of his eyelids were the only thing greeting him for a while. Then, a light washed over him. He was alone, and he was struck with the notion that he should strike up a monologue. But what should he say? And where was the audience?
Yellow, beady eyes emerged from the darkness. "Oh, there you are." He sounded relieved. "Wonderful day for a play, eh chaps? Something strange happened on my way here. Ran into a babe. What was her name? No, wait. Maybe there was three of them."
Silence from the audience. A set of red eyes emerged, and though he could see no bodies, he could tell that the owner of those eyes, and its yellow-eyed friend were sitting like kings, on comfortable seats, and they were not enjoying the play. Roy chuckled nervously. "Where was I? I think her name was Elizabeth. No, Lorna! No, it began with an M, I'm sure of it. Darn it, I know I practiced enough. What was her name? Oh, it was an angel's name, an angel's face..."
There was a gloved hand on his shoulder. Turning around, he was annoyed to find him staring back. "Go home, kid," Captain Heartbreaker said gravely. "Amateur hour's over." Pushing Roy aside, the masked superhero began bowing to the audience. "Hello, babies. Perhaps dancing around the subject is how some operate down in the little leagues, but we shoot for the moon here."
Of course, the words made perfect sense to Roy, who was kicking himself for not knowing simple lines like that. As he watched, the Captain worked his magic. Every eye was on him; he ilicited mutters of agreement for his insights; the occasional ripple of laughter hissed from the audience; the kingly patrons looked on with enough approval to make Roy sick with envy.
"I could act like that," he muttered from behind the curtain. "No, no you probably couldn't. You agreed to be an understudy for a reason. Still, just once..."
"...just once."
His gloves were back on his hands, glowing faintly. His heart began senselessly calling for power. Back in his hotel room, a familiar package was beginning to glow as well.

For a few hours Maria just sat staring straight ahead, not closing her eyes. Gram's illusionary image could be seen in her mind with the cigerette she had lit just standing there leaning against the wall with her. Gram bent over and gently stroke Maria's head and whispered into her ear. Get some sleep, I watch for the night. Even though he was a ghost and couldn't really touch her, her mind created the feeling of the stroke. It was calming, peaceful to her that she finally closed her eyes and let memories of this night just past by.
Gram took a puff of the cigerette, then looked down on his sleeping Guard. For just her first assignment alone, she doing better than I did. Just hang in there a little longer, it'll all be over.
((Now begins the Second day.))
