Hmmm. Leo squinted. If she focused hard enough, she could see a hole. Likely as not, it had been once used to sneak wires into for a ceiling fan or a hanging lamp, but now it seemed to give a direct exit out. Or held a camera. Maybe.
Her attention was quickly riveted by Thane who had managed-
...
Was he attacking a mannequin?
Leo shook her head.
"Are you alright?" She asked, wondering briefly at the figure. She would have sworn that there had been a different set of clothing on that mannequin before.
Heading towards the intrepid blacksmith, she unfortunately tripped on a discarded spool of fabric and slipped into the closest changing room which happened to be the one belonging to the pirate.

"Ugh!"
Thane was shoved forward from the momentum of his swing combined with the death grip this mannequin had caught his wrists in. Not only that, but it had become some horrible fashion amalgamation, bearing a cloth belonging to each of the five other dolls.
But most importantly, he was stuck! Curse him for not knowing more versatile magic; his only spell was a bolt of Thunder that, at such proximity, would hit him just as hard as this doll... He couldn't try for a knee to the crotch on today's adversary, for it was just a wooden doll, and Thane was sure he'd probably bruise his knee in the process... The man gritted his teeth, gripping his sword tighter against the deadlock.
An idea struck him, and he stared intently at his own blade. "Heizung!" A shot of bright red energy sprang out of the muzzle of the barrel attached to his sword, melding itself into the blade and superheating its metal surface. From there, he simply let his grip on the heavy sword go, allowing it fo fall and swing back like a pendulum towards the mannequin. If he was successful, he'd chop off its right arm and his sword would simply rebound off his body with no damages.
After all, it was a just a wooden doll, right?

Leo would be able to see, that as soon as the one curtain slid aside, so did the others. Revealing all of the mannequins to be dressed up in new and different clothes. Did they understand it yet? It would take some investigative skills, and some common sense to solve this first trial. There was enough evidence to know exactly which mannequin contained the sword right off the bat, if only they could clarify to themselves what it was they were searching for. If not, they could spend some time examining each of the mannequins in detail, and study exactly which was wearing what clothing combination.
Thane's blade came quickly, but it seemed the mannequin grabbing him was simply a time-waster, as it let go just before the blade was dropped. Even so, it cleanly cleft through the mannequin's arm; a satisfying thud resounded throughout, but the lively statue returned to standing straight, just as the others.

Woah. As Leo got to her feet she started carefully inspecting the dressed-up figures. The mannequins appeared to be animated- but lacking visible circuitry (the darn thing that the blacksmith had cut wasn't even sparking) it was quite obviously some form of 'magic'. The guy probably didn't even need a camera... just some sort of invisible floating eyeball.
Still. Magic took energy. He couldn't keep this up forever.
Hopefully.
"Are you alright?" Leo repeated carefully, walking towards the blacksmith in steady steps. Magic made everything unpredictable. "How about we think this through for a moment, alright?"

"Tsk..."
Thane stepped back, casting his weapon away to the winds as the mannequin lost its arm and its mobility. It seemed all of them had traded clothes amongst each other, through some sort of magic. Footsteps could be heard as Leo approached, and the Bezirkian stepped out of the room carefully, eyes plastered to the one-armed doll.
"Do you remember what the letter said?" he said in response to her request. "Someone here is a fashion crisis, and committing the greatest faux pas..." His brow furrowed as he stared across the line of oddly-dressed figures.
"They're all looking pretty shoddy, if you ask me... Got any ideas?"

Hmm... They chose the patient rate, but could they really afford the time? Maybe they should have been stretching their minds a little further in effort, and time would not be working against them so. But, now, they would have far more information than they truly needed. Peter Pan: Now wore a turban, a robe made for someone much smaller, a pair of patchy and colorful pants, and a pair of seaworn boots. Aladdin: Now wore a leather headband, a feathery green tunic, a seaworn pair of pants, and a pair of too-tight pants. Hercules (who was missing an arm): Now wore a large top hat, a seaworn vest and jacket, a white pair of pants of the finest silk, and a curly-toed pair of green shoes. Dopey Dwarf: Now wore a tricorn hat, a leather chest piece, a pair of too-tight pants, and a pair of large floppy shoes. Mad Hatter: Now wore too-small and floppy cap, a fine silken vest and jacket, a pair of light-green tights, and a pair of leather sandals. Jack Sparrow: Now wore a light green cloth cap, a colorful and patchy coat, a leather skirt/shorts set for a gladiator, and a pair of fine silk shoes.
If they kept their thoughts clear, and their wits about them, they could easily pick out the impostor they were looking for.

Leo looked at them all carefully, before hesitantly pointing towards 'Aladdin.'
"That guy's missing his shoes."
She paused. Groaned.
"Our friend truly likes his puns."
