A very mystical forest, shrouded with shrubs and hanging deciduous trees, Herne’s Forest is a home of both humans and spirits, animals too inhabit the forests and there are shrines that littered the ground dedicated to each spirit. If a human were to visit this world, unless they are permitted, they cannot see the spirits. It is a spirits choice to show themselves here, however in the worlds that exist beyond Herne’s Forest this rule does not apply and all spirits appear in the physical world at all time.

Physical appearance
Little Sika;
There is not much difference between Sika as a young child and Sika as an adult. Mainly her face is rounder, her eyes are larger, her antlers are smaller, and she has a tiny tail. Also in this form her clothing is larger – but we’ll get to clothing later, Sika as a child is small, she has tiny hands and feet and is slightly chubby. She seems to be a five-year-old, but with a much better vocabulary – perhaps that of a ten-year-old, but who says little kids can’t be smart? She is very small in this form, to someone who is five feet even she would come up to a little below their waist – approximately three or so feet most likely a little taller, she’s very light, at least forty pounds. The colorations of Sika do not change; you may refer to the description of True Sika for that.

True Sika;
Sultry and tall, as an adult she is voluptuous and curvy. She has very long white-blonde hair with the ends of each strand shifting to orange. She has two tall antlers (each five pronged) that grown from her skull, hair falls around these to frame her face and create bangs. Her face is elegant, yet peach shaped, her lips a deep red. She appears to be in her early twenties, is fairly tall for a woman standing at five-six with long legs, Still she has dainty feet, though her hands are small her fingers are elegant and slender with long nails. As for ears – and I’m sure you’re wondering – they are your average human ones. In this form, unlike in her child one, she does not have a tail. She has narrower eyes in this figure, colored a red-orange, though more properly called red-brown (more red than any other pigment).

Wisdom Sika;
This figure is no more difficult to explain than the others, though perhaps slightly more so. She looks like a deer, yes, that is simple. She looks like a buck – lacking any male genitalia of course, but the color of her body is pale yellow, almost white, and she seems to glow. Upon her back are the spots one might find on a young fawn, but instead of being colored dark they are simply a soft orange pigment, much like the color of her hair. And her tall antlers have changed slightly to swirl more. In this figure she has the typical deer eyes. Large with long lashes and large black pupils, her irises are still colored red-brown. Her hooves are pale grey, so as not to set off the balance of her light coloration, her antlers seem to be made of ivory. She can talk in this form, but it is in a manner unlike a human, for her lips will not move when she talks, simply one will hear her voice – which is often why she travels in a more human form, preferring bipedal transportation to that of a quadruped – though there is much to be enjoyed with the frolicking of a deer. Sometimes glowing spheres of light can be seen around her as she collects the souls of plants around her to sustain her body.

Clothing/Accessories
Little Sika;
Deer do not wear clothing, but humans do. Little Sika wears clothes that mostly fit her, but are perhaps a little large. She wears a white, simple kimono under an untied pink one – and wears the pink one much like one would wear a jacket. She does not wear shoes. The kimono covers her body, but is not tight and offers plenty of movement and mobility for her.

True Sika;
As for true Sika, she wears a long white kimono, very simple and elegant, and over the top a furisoda (this is a kimono worn by young, unmarried women; it has very long sleeves not in the manner of past the fingers, but they hang down quite far, in some cases to the ground), untied, and rather short. It would only fall down half of her thighs – partially why she wears a much longer wakafu (kimono). She wears the furisoda much like she wears the second kimono as a child, like a jacket.

Behavior
Little Sika;
This is not to say that Sika is three different people, just that she acts differently in each form. In the form of a child she is just that, playful, innocent, and perhaps a little bit naïve. She has a tendency to be drawn towards grumps and grouches, feeling as though she should cheer them up and make them happy as little Sika much prefers smiles to frowns and glares. In this form she could be called a little manipulative, and as any little “princess” loves being spoiled and showered with attention. But she’s a very sweet little spirit – for a spirit is what she truly is – and as such when she is given something it is her duty to give in return. As that is what a benevolent spirit does, it gives. But do not let this fool you, for even in the body of a five-year-old, the spirit is very wise and much older than she appears. She’s a cheeky little devil though, knowing that she possesses much wisdom can make her seem a little arrogant, but really she doesn’t try to flaunt it. Mostly she just wants to run around and be cheery.

True Sika;
As a woman she is much calmer and quieter. She is very wise and sociable. She’s rather proper in this state, preferring to be treated as an equal as opposed to being doted on as a child. In this state she is attracted to really anyone who would care to be around her. She enjoys conversation, particularly the meaningful type, and tends to avoid conflict. She strongly dislikes fighting. But she is a spirit of inspiration and is so drawn to those who do not quite feel that they are up to the task that they have set for themselves – or that others might’ve given them – and also to those who are strongly inspired to accomplishments. Great destiny is always an attraction, she fancies that she can sense greatness within others – perhaps she really can.

Wisdom Sika;
The Spirit is very scarcely seen by any eyes at all, Spirits of course will see her, but she doesn’t often show her deer form to many. In fact it is a very guarded figure, and her personality in this is cautious and very careful – like any deer – but also kind and considerate. It will appear to anyone in need of help, and is not afraid to call upon its powers.

H E R N E ‘S STAFF
A long wooden staff with ornately carved body, it is decorated with carvings of leaves, vines, branches, and flowers. It is a beautiful work of art used to either physically hit someone, or to summon her fireflies and other creatures that she might call to her aid (though the other summons will have to wait until they are purchased). The staff is made of sturdy dior wood and is nearly impossible to break. But something of such craftsmanship can never be remade if it does break – she would have to replace it with a new and different staff.

H E R N E ‘S I L L U S I O N
Being a spirit has its perks. One of them is the ability to appear differently to the eyes of others. For example, Sika might choose to look like a five-year-old child, but she can also take the appearance of a twenty-year-old woman; the latter of the two being more appropriate while the first is simply preference. But it is not just an illusion, she won’t just look five, she will retain the body of a five-year-old as well. It could be called shape shifting, but there are more limitations with Herne’s Illusion. There are only three possible figures that she can select from. A young child – for communing with children, a young woman – for communing with older figures, and the figure of an ethereal deer

F I R E F L I E S
Appearance
They look like any firefly would look. Very small, clear insect wings, antennae, and an unusually glowing posterior; the fireflies gather as a small swarm with a diameter no larger than five feet, but so small that quantity is more likely just an annoyance.

Abilities
AP: 0

FLASH
The fireflies gather around the enemy, and in synchronizing and hypnotic motions will distractingly flash their taillights so that the opponent’s attention will deviate away from Sika. How she uses the time gathered from this movement is up to her, but usually it is to flee to safety and have the fireflies disperse.

Strength: Weak
Uses: Passive. Can be used multiple time and deals no damage.

CARRY
The small swarm of fireflies will gather into a glowing cloud – a small cloud perhaps only four feet by three feet. They collect themselves around Sika’s feet to lift her into the air and carry her to where she needs to go (think of the Monkey King’s Nimbus cloud). She can either be sitting or standing.

Strength: Weak
Uses: Anytime outside of battle. Two times a fight separated by twenty posts.

SWARM
This allows the fireflies to collect into a mass and reshape themselves into a hammer for causing physical damage to an opponent, the small bugs will gather together in a tight mass to form both a hammer’s head and handle, and they will either swing themselves, or Sika can swing them, into the opponent.

Strength: Moderate
Uses: Can be used five times (so long as the fireflies remain healthy, otherwise the more they are picked away the less uses they can take) with five posts in-between each use. The downside: that they hurt themselves when they are smashed into something.

STORM
The swarm begins to move erratically around the opponent, their wings beating furiously and calling up a great storm of wind and lightning. The electricity is generated from their posteriors, and each light will seem to occasionally connect as the electrodes zap from one insect to the next forming a sort of swirling cage around the opponent.

Strength: Strong
Uses: To harm, distract, and unbalance the opponent, can be used twice in a fight separated by ten posts.

Spirits are not born like normal humans, no, for they come from nature, not another body. They are born of the wind, the rain, the sun, and the earth. Sika, being a forest spirit, was born from the earth. As such she is highly influences by nature, things such as the trees and winds and rains. She is a forest spirit, born to protect Herne’s Forest from anything that might damage it. And she did quite the wonderful job for many, many years. Of course she’s not a deity, just a spirit. A wondering creature that can be seen as a physical being, an apparition, or even as nothing at all – of course that’s simple on her home world.
For ever many years she protected the forest with the help of the kodama tree spirits and the spirits of the animals and humans that have since passed on from the realm of the living to that of the dead. And yet still they serve the world – for flesh becomes soil and nourishment, and the tree that grows from it provides food for the living and shade.

But all cannot be peaceful forever, for hundreds of years have passed since Sika was born, and a terrible power has gripped Herne’s Forest. The Heartless have appeared to steal her home’s heart, so she seeks to rid her forest of them for good.
They came during the night, small creatures that traveled by darkness, that followed the shadows – that were shadows. They came in droves, and for every one destroyed three more would replace it, an endless cycle of chaos. Relentlessly they came upon Herne’s Forest and the spirits and people who lived there. Humans and animals ran for their lives, as Kodama were destroyed easily, and souls were lost and swallowed.
Darkness covered the once blue sky, wrapping the world in black and purple as various holes of black began to develop. It was thanks to one of these holes that Sika was able to escape, in the form of a five-year-old child. She used the hole to flee from the world and seek out help, it is from here that she starts her journey into Kingdom Hearts.
