Judge Claude Frollo was born in Paris and raised there his whole life. His father was a judge, just like he is now. His mother was a gypsy and left them immediately for a more "free life." Frollo had no trust in gypsies after that. He was practically raised alone for his father always worked. In his spare time, he would read books about the law, studying to become a judge like his father whom he looked up to so much.
But his father left one day. He said that there was too much to explain, and one day Frollo would know. However, Frollo never saw him again....
Years passed and Frollo became the new judge or Paris. His vow was to eradicate the city of gypsies not only because of his mother, but he believed his father was killed by gypsies. One night, they were tipped of a few gypsies that would sneak into Paris. Sure enough, there were gypsies sneaking in. They captured them all, but one ran away. Frollo chased her to the steps of Notre Dame and killed her. He reached down for what she was holding and found it was a baby. An incredibly deformed baby. Satan's child. He was about the throw it down a well when the Archdeacon stopped him.
The Archdeacon told him that Frollo must take the baby in as his own. Not because of the law, but because of morality. Frollo did so, reluctantly and called the boy "Quasimodo" which mean "Half a man." Frollo kept Quasimodo in the bell tower and visited him for each meal and gave him school lessons. One day, a problem arised.
The Feast of Fools had arrived, and Quasimodo was getting ideas to go. No matter how much Frollo was scolding him not to go, however, the boy went anyway. He embarrased not only himself, but he embarrased Frollo when the citizens tortured Quasimodo. Then, a gypsy arose out of the crowd and saved Quasi. From then on, the gypsy, Esmeralda became Frollo's enemy.
He vowed that he would do whatever it took to find her, and so he did. Frollo practically burnt Paris to the ground looking for one gypsy. It wasn't only because of the law, though. It was also because of a strange desire of wanting for the gypsy. Either she picked him, or she burned.
After searching and searching, he could not find her, so he hatched a plan. Frollo told Quasimodo that he knew where Esmeralda was and that he was going to go kill her. Knowing Quasi would go after her, he followed the foolish boy to the gypsy camp, the Court of Miracles. He arrested Esmeralda and the former (and thought dead) Captain Phoebus.
It finally came to that fateful day. Frollo chained Quasi to Notre Dame and they began Esmeralda's execution. That was when he gave her the choice to take him, or burn. She then spit in his face and sealed her fate of death, hopefully clearing Frollo of his sin.
However, Quasi escaped and rescued Esmeralda, invoking Frollo's anger. He ransacked the church, despite the law of Sanctuary, and found Quasi and Esmeralda. He attempted to kill them and chased them onto the balcony. When Quasi fell over the ledge and held on for dear life, Frollo stood up on a statue. He raised his sword and almost brought it down on Quasi and then the statue crumbled, and Frollo fell to his death....
Or so they thought. What no one knew, was that the Heartless were witnessing the very ordeal. The strength of Frollo's heart. As he fell, a black portal opened up and Frollo fell into it. He fell for what he thought was hours, but in reality only minutes. He landed with a thud on the ground and was immediately surrounded by Heartless.
No matter how hard Frollo fought, he could not win against the Heartless, and he was soon overtaken. But they did not just get rid of him. They changed him into one of them (though he still kept his true form). When they were done, they sent him back to Paris, and there Frollo struggled to stay alive. He began calling out for God, and soon, thoughts of hell entered his head. That is when his Darkfire began healing him.
He realized that there was much more he could do. And he was going to take advantage of it. With his sword still in hand, he stood. His first quest. Find the gypsy girl...Esmeralda.

Frollo skulked through the streets of Paris. Though he was the Judge, he was supposed to be dead, and that would cause somewhat of a stir if he was seen. Unwanted attention was unnecessary at this time. Soon, though, he would make himself known. Frollo finally came in view of Notre Dame. His heart burned when he saw it. Burned of anger. He knew God had betrayed him. God had left him for dead?
Why? Had Frollo not been a loyal man. He was only doing God's will to rid the world of those servants of hell...the gypsies. It was his sin...that must have been it. His desire for Esmeralda. She had cursed him, and for that, she shall pay.
Frollo continued running through the shadows of Paris when he came across a small group of gypsies dancing for money. He could not explain what happened. His eyes began burning with anger, and suddenly, there was fire in the middle of the street. "Burn...." Frollo whispered and the screams of the gypsies filled the air of Paris as the fire clung onto their clothes and bodies. Soon, there was nothing there but black, burnt bodies.
Frollo looked down at his hands. Sure, he had done exactly what he wanted. He killed the gypsies...but how he did it had scared him. Had God truly abandoned him and left him in the hands of Satan? People screamed when they saw who he was. They needed to be shut up. There was only one way. "Burn!" Soon they all began burning. Black, crisp bodies piled the streets of Paris until Frollo decided to escape to the rooftops.
He gave a bound from the streets to the roofs. How did that happen? What had happened to him? He could not remember...but strangely...he liked it....
