I. Things to Keep In Mind

While you are making your character outline, you must keep several important things in mind from the Kingdom Hearts storyline, to avoid any plot contradictions or holes.

- Your original character cannot be affiliated with any established canon characters in their background.

-Remember that a Heart, Body, and Soul are three main essential elements to creating a life in the universe of Kingdom Hearts.

- How did your character escape from their world?

- If your character is a Nobody or a Heartless, they cannot feel emotions.

-Your character cannot be a hybrid of a Heartless and a Nobody.

- If your character's world was lost, were they returned to it after it was restored by Sora's efforts in the first KH game?

- Heartless and Nobodies did not exist nine years prior to the first KH game.

- Please do not use colored text in your character outline.

- Your character should not be one winged, wearing an Organization coat, or using an anagram of their name with an X.

- If you read all of this, use the password (trinityofhearts) at the end of the template to confirm it. Do not break the cosmology of Kingdom Hearts and your character should be fine.

II. Dive to the Heart
This is the actual character outline with descriptions. A pre-coded template will be available for you to copy and paste so you can fill it out.

Soul

This is probably the most important section of the template. This is considered to be the background or biography of your character. You must answer each question with a paragraph (no longer than that) as this is basically forming the backbone to whether or not your character really belongs in this type of role playing environment.

Personality: (Describe your character's behavior around people or how they act in certain situations. This needs to be a good paragraph or longer.)
Weapon: (What your character fights with.)
Armor: (What your character wears for protection.)
Accessory: (Anything else your character wears for style or protection.)

Heart

Realm: (Realm of Light, Darkness, or Twilight.)
World: (Describe the world your character comes from in a paragraph. No more and no less.)
Race: (Is your character a Human, Heartless, Nobody, or some other type of humanoid entity?)
Occupation: (What the character's former or current job/career is and how they make their living.)

Drive

Drive serves as the main source of your character's abilities. All characters begin with a Drive of 10, and if it reaches zero it means your character can no longer function and is incapable of fighting. Getting hit and using abilities is costly to your Drive, so you must be careful with how you use it. Your abilities should not exceed the known level of power in the universe of Kingdom Hearts.

There are three ability levels that correspond with the three levels of magic. Example:

Fire - Costs 1 Drive
Fira - Costs 2 Drive
Firaga - Costs 3 Drive

For the most part, the template is much better. In fact, Tyke made it seem like it was a bigger deal than it actually was. >>

That doesn't change the fact that I still have a few things to tear apart.

Heart - the questions there were used on KHRPF. They served no purpose there, they serve no purpose here. Get rid of them. They're a waste of time.

Drive - This looks a lot like the SP system Sasori and I developed. It was pretty disliked when I asked everyone what they thought about it. Maybe you should read the thread and maybe even revive it. Because, as it stands now, the members will hate the idea and I won't incorporate it.
But, I think it is fine; though, I'm thinking 10 is a little too low...that is, assuming I understand the very vague description given.

And please, please, please, lose the cheesy questions you have under the 'heart' category. Those are so lame. It reminds me too much of the old board too.

- Heartless and Nobodies did not exist nine years prior to the first KH game. < Yes they did, their numbers were simply not as high as they are now. They were rarer.

- If you read all of this, use the password (trinityofhearts) at the end of the template to confirm it. Do not break the cosmology of Kingdom Hearts and your character should be fine. < I can use the "Find" option, look up Password, and find that without reading it at all, change this, make it less noticeable.

Realm: (Realm of Light, Darkness, or Twilight.) < Everyone is from the Realm of Light, take this OUT.

I don't care about the 3 Questions, keep or take them out, whatever.

I don't like the Drive thing all that much, but do as Avenger says, see if you can change people's minds. If you can't, take it out.

1.) As for the "Cheesy Questions", they may be "Cheesy", but they're also very "Kingdom Hearts-y", which is what this template was made to do: add a little more of that KH element to this forum. Also, we forgot to add that they need to give reasons as to WHY their character chooses each answer. There is no specific length required, but they need to give at least one solid reason for the answer they choose. Now it has more of a purpose than it did back on KHRPF, and they're something that we DEFINATELY want to keep...

2.) Okay, so since we apparently didn't explain the Drive System in enough detail, here goes another less "vague" shot at telling you about it. [even though my version will be much simpler and to the point] xD
A.) Okay, so you start with ten drive points,
B.) Use a level one ability and you lose a drive point, [ex: Fire]
C.) Use a level two ability and you lose a drive point, [ex: Fira]
D.) Use a level three ability and you lose a drive point, [ex: Firaga]
E.) Land a hit and you gain a drive point
F.) GET hit and you lose a drive point

There will be a thread created, asking members about this system. We're gonna try and change the entire Drive system around a bit, too. I thought from the start that the 10 limit was small as well, so we're gonna probably increase the limit to like 15. We're also gonna try and see about having ways to increase the limit and maybe even increasing the amount of ability levels. Like, instead of just levels 1, 2, and 3 [for example, Fire, Fira, Firaga] we would include a way of breaking the level limit and obtaining a fourth level with the "-agun" suffix, kind of like how it is possible to do so using item synthesis in KHII. So once a certain requirement is met, you could break the level limit and you would be able to have an ability as strong as level four [Firagun]. Do you guys get it/get the whole Drive system a little better?

Now I know that this sounds really complex, but it would reduce godmodding even further and it would add a lot of strategy to battles. I'm tired of battles that go on and on and on forever because neither RPer knows how to properly distribute the damage they put out and recieve. Don't you all agree?

3.) I'll do some quick research on Heartless and whether or not they can feel emotions, because as far as I know they lack hearts that are required to feel emotions.

4.) Heartless and Nobodies did not exist 9 years prior to KH. And not everyone is from the Realm of Light (Heartless are from the dark realm, and Nobodies are from the twilight realm. [Tetsuya Nomura's words from some interview]) And I know that you want it "OUT" because of the plot and stuff, but not everything is from the realm of Light. Now I know it can mess up the plot, so I'm not going to push this issue because it isn't really important enough to argue about, so we can take it out if necessary.

5.) Okay, the password thing will be modified.

Heartless are Hearts surrounded by Darkness, I'd think they could feel emotions >.<

And yes, I still want that Realm thing out.

Heartless did exist 9 years ago...Do you not remember the first Ansem report? Ansem FOUND one in his friggen house. Obviously they existed or he couldn't have FOUND one could he?

As for the Drive system, the complicatedness isn't what I care about, its whether or not we want to bother with it. Like I said, you get the members to like it and I'll go for it.

Also, you should have it that when you GET hit you GAIN a drive, afterall, you do in the game, and it'd "encourage" people to not dodge every freaking thing.
