General Character Information
--------------------------------------
Character Name: Seth Bertrand
Character Age: 17
Character Gender:Male
Character Race: Merman/Human
Character Position: Neutral
Character Personality: Seth is what some people would call slow. After only becoming human for just over two months, he is still confused about how you walk without tripping.(He's getting better!) While he ponders these strange human questions, he seems to be confused overall. And with the confusion comes his insane wacky personality. It's as if he has popped straight out from a television into real life as a cartoon character. For example, he will occasionally find himself floating in midair momentarily as he holds his two feet up in his hands. Usually, he's trying to figure out why humans need so many “Fins” (As he refers to toes as “fins”.). And with English being his second language, Mermish being his first, he's still learning how to cope.
Seth, despite his lack of common sense, is loyal to no end. Whether you hate him or not, once he decides that you're “friends” with him, he will be forever bound to you like glue. But “Friend” is very different from “buddy”. Almost everyone is his “buddy” and he will make somewhat friends with you. But if you don't try to strangle him, or get rid of him, or happens to stay just as sane as he is, then you've made it to the “friend” level. Now, this doesn't happen often, not many people can stand being around him for too long. At least before people learn about his home life, they choose not to stay around. They usually think he's just some wacko that can't really control himself. And that may be partially true, but there’s more to the wacko. He's just got a gift that's known across many stages in Atlantica. That's right, stages. But we'll get to that during his History.
Character's Appearance: In his human form, he seems like the perfect, for the most part, normal person (If you ignore his neck). So it's a let down when people find out what he's really like. He's got a pair of deep, almost bottomless green eyes. They're a very dark color that seems to enchant most humans. But they don't seem human, as they shouldn't look. They've got a much sharper, defining look to them, like a fish's. Which is exactly what he is, or relatively, for that matter. Along with his strange eyes, he looks as if he's never seen the sun before in his life. The fact that he finds himself staring at the sun at multiple times throughout the day doesn’t help either. Despite his pale, almost white skin tone, his hair looks like he's had years and years of sun. His spiked hair was a strikingly bright colored blonde with undertones of gold.
Along with his strangely unique face, his whole appearance seems to follow suit in this. With his rather slim and leanly muscled frame, he sticks out in almost any world. To him it makes no sense why everyone is so out of shape, where he came from, you HAVE to exercise, to get anywhere, you have to swim there, and you get in shape. But Seth had what some people call “A High Metabolism” and what others call “Permanent Sugar Rush”. Meaning, to confirm the above statements, he seems that even in water, he bounces off of the walls. With usually light, casual fabrics, he never really over-dresses. In fact, he's still getting used to clothing in general. When forced in public, he'll often be seen with a T-shirt of sorts with baggy pants, or shorts, such as khakis. He also almost always is wearing a pair of shoes, or anywhere where there’s a chance of water being near. But around his neck at all times is a necklace that at the end has a top seashell on it to remind him of where he came from. Nothing is out of the ordinary with this shell, just a beautiful pearlescent color.
Now, everything isn’t normal about his appearance, hence the “for the most part”. For example if you look at his neck, on each side there are two slits that are used for gills when in water. Usually they will just occasionally move, but nothing huge, just flop around a bit. But if the gills don’t get water for a long enough period of time (A couple days) they will start to dry up. Once they dry up, it makes going back into the water much more painful and difficult. That’s why it’s important that Seth doesn’t get too far from a water source.
In his mermaid form, Seth takes on a very different appearance. From his arms jut out very sharp, angular fins that have a black base and white fins coming from them. And from the base of the fins, come decadent black and white decorations up his arms and to his hands up to his chest. His long, thin tail has two angular onyx caudal fins that are relatively small compared to the others of his species, but they serve very little purpose for Seth as he seems to dart and slither through the water rather than use his tail for a paddle. Along his tail is a single thick black streak that seems to edgily go in and out up and down his tail with the remaining being a dark, looming gray color.
The tail will continue up to just his belly button where it will fade off from its grey into his pale skin tone. On each side of his chest are three curved marks, one black, one grey, and one very light gray, almost white. These don’t serve any significant purpose as far as Seth is aware of; they seem to be the remains of whatever fish that he took after. Not much else is known of it.

Battle Information

Weapon Name: None
Weapon Appearance: No fool would give Seth any sort of weapon as long as they wanted to stay alive.
Abilities: [Create 3 Abilities. LIST them with the Ability's name and a description of what each Ability does.]
-Deadly Decant- Being from a world that centers around music and it's wonders, it's only natural to have a singing ability. But this one could lead to worse circumstances. This ability allows him to project his voice louder than a normal person, often aimed at a single candidate. Sometimes it can be used on a group of people though. This ability only works on humans. It will lure the human(s) closer and closer towards the singer/projector. This ability is not usually used in a light-hearted way.
-Sonar- Both Above and Below water, Seth has a mental map of the place and the people/items there. This means he can often sense when something weird happens (like portals). He can often search out people fairly easily. While this is a very useful ability (And makes it nearly impossible to escape him) it has it's own range. It will only work within ten miles on land, and twenty five miles underwater. In his family, this seems to be very common, and other merpeople seem to have this ability occasionally.
-Water Curl- This only works above water. Seth will summon a bubble, or a sphere, that is completely made of water. This can be used to stop someone, trap them, or, if need be, kill someone. Seth is not one to battle much, therefore very rarely kills someone. He doesn't have the concentration to keep the spell going either. So it's usually just used to slow someone, scare someone, or just have fun (Real fun, eh?).

Character History
--------------------------------------
“Ha! You graduated at eleven? Stupid child. You’ll never become anything.”
“The only thing you can do is lie. Lie, cheat, and sing. That’s just about it.”
These were things Seth had heard his whole life. Sure, it took him three years to complete schooling, but that didn’t mean he was completely stupid. It just took a while for some things to click in his mind. He wasn’t like the rest of the people around him, or merpeople. Yes, Seth didn’t live in some normal place like Twilight Town or Destiny Islands. This was a place called Atlantica, the music central of the universe. If you wanted to make it big, here’s where you came. Unfortunately, too many new comers ran away in shock of their newly transformed selves. Either that, or they’d get eaten by sharks because they didn’t have the natural instinct. Well, it wasn’t like they could make it there anyways, if you wanted to make it here, you had to be better than anything ever seen before. And no human could even compete with who was here. You had merpeople who had been training their whole lives to become stars, and who had voices that could possibly be deathly to a human. Which is why humans hardly ever visited Atlantica.
On to the character, Seth had a pretty decently normal life. He grew up in his parent’s cave, living a decent life. His father worked as a musician for the orchestra pit, nothing special, but a respectable career in Atlantica. His mother was usually smaller parts in the Musicals that were put on frequently. If she was lucky she would get a singing part, but that was only once in a blue moon. Seth’s parents were both very respected people in Atlantica, they were never high in the pecking order, but they hadn’t done anything wrong like many had. They were both decent looking people, and they had a child who was sent off to a boarding school at eight because his parents could afford it and thought it would be better for their child at a boarding school. So off he went. Now, the thing you have to understand is that with merpeople, education does not matter as much. They fit in the essentials, the basics. It helps that most merpeople can catch onto concepts quicker than most humans, but they jam-pack their lessons with things. It was nearly impossible for students to sleep through these courses or very difficult, to say the least. Seth somehow managed to do so.
After being at the boarding school for three years (staying an extra year than most students do) he went back home to his parents, now having graduated the equivalence of human high school. But besides graduating, he had even better news for them. He had found his gift, the one thing he knew he was good at. Singing, he could be a star, this gave him a chance to actually live out a normal career. Since musicals dominated most of society in Atlantica, Seth knew he had a chance. He could sing, act, and he could pick up the dancing on the way. With this news, his parents were absolutely ecstatic and found the best school they could to train him. This one was similarly a boarding school, but the students had much more free time. Whether they chose to visit their parents or whether they chose to practice and explore the grounds, they were given freedom. Seth would visit his parents much more than at his old school. He found comfort in knowing that they appreciated what he did, that he could fit in. His parents were happy that their sun wouldn’t end up being a hobo or without making a complete fool of himself.
Unfortunately, Seth’s extra year at school wouldn’t help him in the upcoming events. Little did he know that there was quite an angry creature that had recently come to Atlantica, looking for the revenge of something. At the time Seth was about fifteen. His parents somehow managed to be tied into this creature, this strange, foreign creature. Seth never realized what or who this thing was as it took form of a merperson, but something was always off. How they had very deep, coal colored eyes compared to everyone else’s colorful ones. Seth, being his usual self, made “buddies” with this person. And as unlikely as it would seem that this could possibly work out, it seemed to somehow do so as the creature stood by Seth without completely murdering him. And it was one night when Seth and the creature were hanging out that something horrible happened. Seth was just talking, as usual, without regard of whether his friend was listening or not. He turned to meet a pair of very black, frightening eyes, but he couldn’t look away. The next thing he knew, he found himself floating above his parents’ dead bodies, both of them limp, and even paler than he was.
Seth refused to believe they were gone, shaking them repeatedly, but finding no response. He didn’t shed a tear for them, mainly because you can’t cry underwater. But he had a solution to this whole problem. You see, if Seth confessed his murder, then he would be locked up forever. He would never pursue a career, have a family, or have a life. And he knew that was the last thing his parents would like. So he spent much of his now quickly growing shells (The equivalence of munny.) for his parents’ funeral. Now that he was staring in many popular musicals, he found himself very rich and able to afford many pointless costs that others could not. He found himself nearly swimming in shells instead of water. After the funeral, the police started researching the crime, but coming up empty handed every single time. But soon they started finding things. Seth knew he had to get out, before they found out, before they disappointed his late parents. So once he heard of one of his friends traveling out of Atlantica he jumped on the opportunity. And out they were, leaving their home planet.
Now seventeen, Seth was exploring the planets, jumping around with his friends, but they got annoyed and decided to dump him on some planet. Unfortunately, that planet just so happened to be Agrabah. This meant that a merman that only recently turned human, was stuck on a planet that consisted of desert like climates. Not to mention his pale skin that would stick out like a soar thumb in the middle of this place. Now as he strolls the streets of Agrabah, he looks for a way out of this hot planet. Hopefully, with his dim-wittedness, he doesn’t get himself killed first.

--------------------------------------
In the merman species he belongs to, large amounts of sleep is not needed. On average, he sleeps around six hours a month. This is considered sleeping in. Through out nights while others are sleeping, Seth will often have to entertain himself. This could end up very badly, warning.
-Transformation- This is not a choice for Seth, but when his feet touch water of any kind, no matter what, he will start morphing into his mermaid self. Even if he doesn’t want to, in water he must go back to his original form. For this reason, Seth will wear shoes against his better opinion.
