Did Avenger give you permission to use the below canon character :: Erm... no... but my name is still in the canon list from KHRPF and I didn't know whether or not I'm still able to be up here 'n' all that. Just please read this through and check my comments at the bottom.
--------------------------------------
General Character Information
--------------------------------------
Character Name: Vincent Valentine
Character Age: Early 60s, but 27 in appearance
Character Gender: Male
Character Race: Human, infused with contaminated Mako – “G-substance”
Character Position: good/neutral
Character Personality: Vincent is the type to stay an enigma, dark and mysterious, keeping to himself and only emerging into social activity when absolutely needed. He is a loyal and kind friend, but won’t help others unless asked, and he masks the majority of his emotions. He’s got strong gut-feelings he won’t hesitate to follow, and often apologizes and feels guilty excessively. Vincent is also the type of person to note things that people would not normally see or observe – a quick thinker.
Character's Appearance: Vincent has unruly, jet-black hair of a good length that sticks up at odd angles after his body changed with the intrusion of Chaos. His eyes are red, and he’s also of a slight, athletic build that is covered with his black-clothed suit. His right hand is the only appendage that is real, while his right hand and both feet are fashioned out of a gold-colored material. On top of it all, he’s got a dark red cloak, tattered and old from wear and battle, reaching up with a large collar-like thing to neatly cover the lower half of his face and hang down in the front just to his chest, with black clasps of silver attachments. He has his gun hanging in its black holster at his right thigh. This is his now-original form after Chaos had infested his body, though *for RP purposes* he has somehow managed the ability to change back into how he appeared before: a short haired, brown eyed young man with dignity, dressed neatly in (most of the time) a suit.
--------------------------------------
Battle Information
--------------------------------------
Weapon Name: Cerberus, Death Penalty
Weapon Appearance: Cerberus is his main weapon. It is a black, three-barreled gun with silver-colored, canine-motif additions at the ends of the barrels. This weapon is modifiable for Vincent to use a variety of abilities such as magic or raise his defense. At the end of the handle, Cerberus has a... silver cerberus keychain on the end of a matching chain. Death Penalty is his ultimate weapon, long and large, modified with the power of Chaos. It has a single barrel, in a cross-like shape, and uses special bullets.
Abilities: FIRE/FIRA/FIRAGA - shoots a spherical burst of fire, damaging and strong, progressively larger and more powerful with each spell's advancement
THUNDER/THUNDARA/THUNDAGA - shoots a string of lightning that can start a chain reaction and connect to other nearby opponents causing multiple damage, progressively larger and more powerful with each spell's advancement
TRANSFORMATION - Vincent can trigger his own power and turn into different forms: Galian Beast (fire) and Chaos. Due to dying at Hojo's hand and being "reborn" with Lucrecia's studies of Chaos, Chaos was implanted within Vincent, controlled only by the Protomateria that resided in his chest after Lucrecia found it in her lab ((see background/history)). On top of that, the result of becoming Chaos came with side-effects of overflowing with his own strength, triggering a transformation into more minor forms such as the Galian Beast, whom he is able to control.

Character History
--------------------------------------
I thank Jeax for his indirect help in this and Wikipedia for…stuff.
Vincent Valentine is the son of Shin-Ra scientist Grimoire Valentine and he joined the elite fighter group called the Turks that worked for the Shin-Ra company upon coming of age, as he was highly skilled with guns. Soon after, he was assigned to protect JENOVA Project scientists – one of them by the name of Lucrecia Crescent who had worked with his father. Lucrecia worked under Grimoire, who died protecting her from a lab accident, but Vincent was unaware of this fact. The two began to strike up a very close relationship, often hanging out together outside Shin-Ra manor under a tree on a hill. Both were deeply, happily, in love.
Until one day when Vincent discovered his late father’s profile on Crescent’s computer. She saw him looking at it, and told him she is to blame for Grimoire’s death, guilt in her heart. Vincent, however, did not care whether or not she was the cause of his father death, but she fled while crying out apologies. Their relationship plummeted as Lucrecia avoided Vincent’s eye from then on and always responded with “I’m so sorry” to his questions filled with confusion.
Lucrecia was to be wed to Hojo (another Shin-Ra scientist), and the even more confused Vincent attempted to ask why, only knowing that something passed between them and no love remained. Yet again, the scientist eluded him. Interestingly enough, Valentine came across the plan Hojo had to experiment on human beings for the JENOVA Project – his wife and unborn son being among the subjects. Confronting Hojo, Vincent began an argument to save Lucrecia, or at least the baby, but Lucrecia walked in. It was her choice to do so, she told Vincent, who then attempted to change her mind – to no avail, and he dropped the subject. It was that event which would scar him forever, his unforgivable Sin.
The expectant mother became ill, often waking and screaming in the middle of the night with terrifying sights of the future. A second time, Vincent clashed with Hojo to save Lucrecia – and the crazed Shin-Ra scientist shot the Turk with a gun he had in his lab coat, supposedly mortally wounding Vincent who heard Lucrecia’s cries of concern and Hojo’s maniac laughter before losing consciousness.
Miraculously, Valentine survived. Hojo acknowledged the other’s man potential strength and began testing on him instead, changing around his DNA and putting Lifestream into his body. The conclusion? The ability to transform into a matter of different, monstrous forms. A “failed experiment” in Hojo’s eyes, Vincent was put aside and Lucrecia took him in. His mortal body was breaking down and the young scientist conducted tests to help him recover. Lucrecia used her research data of Omega and Chaos, a project called “The Planet’s Pulse” as a basis for her experiment, injecting contaminated Mako called “G-Substance” into Vincent’s body for stability. However, the tainted Mako caused the being Chaos to be born inside of Valentine, and his body (and clothing) changed through the infection.
Chaos was unleashed as Vincent’s turbulent emotions fueled the being. In the midst of pleading Vincent to stop and take control of Chaos, Lucrecia stumbled upon ProtoMateria that appeared to make the destructive creature relax. In the past, Grimoire and Lucrecia had discovered this along with the G-Substance Mako. She deducted that this could safely stop Chaos from over-reacting and maybe even affect the WEAPON, Omega, so she put the special Materia into Vincent’s chest. Returning to his now greatly altered original form, Vincent could handle Chaos, but fell into a deep slumber caused from exhaustion.
Hojo, in the meantime, perfected his JENOVA Project through Sephiroth, his son. Lucrecia attempted suicide, but was unable to do so thanks to the Jenova cells within her body. Instead, she isolated herself in a cave where she and Grimoire had been in years past…
Upon waking, Vincent was alone, Hojo and Lucrecia were gone. He quickly came across his new powers, and feared himself, worried that he might have injured Crescent during his lapse. Doing extensive research, Vincent soon learned of Sephiroth and the state of Shin-Ra. It was the result of his Sin, a great and terrible evil, and he accepted his situation as a proper Punishment. Grieved, he forced himself to sleep for thirty years in the basement of the Shin-Ra manor – and therefore learned of his inability to age and die when Cloud and friends found him. Originally angry, the former Turk joined Cloud’s cause when he learned about Sephiroth, hopes of revenge to Hojo for Lucrecia embedded in his mind. His efforts flourished with results: the death of the maniac Hojo and an encounter with Lucrecia who had fused with a Materia crystal into a dormant state. Finally relieved of Sin with the obliteration of Jenova and Sephiroth, he spent the majority of his time in the cave, watching the one he loved.
Two years later, Vincent left for the Northern Crater with dread, correctly so when he saw marks of battle leading to the City of the Ancients, Ajito, or the Forgotten City as some called it. He found Tseng and Elena, bodyguards of Rufus Shinra tortured by the Remnants of Sephiroth: Kadaj, Yazoo, and Loz. The two informed him of the group of three and about Geostigma – a disease caused by the body when it overworks in an attempt to get rid of foreign substances like Jenova’s cells. Soon after nursing the bodyguards back to health, he rescued Cloud too, relaying information to the former SOLDIER who left shortly. Vincent then headed for Edge to assist his friends against the summon Bahamut SIN by Kadaj. From there, he boarded Cid’s new airship, Shera, and informed the group of the Sephiroth Remnants: what they were, what they were capable of.
Cloud vanquished the Remnant successfully and Valentine returned to Lucrecia’s Cave once more with a will to help his loved one.
A year passed, and Reeve Tuesti called him to Kalm to participate in the festivities with the triumph over Jenova, Sephiroth, and Meteor Fall. The celebration was interrupted by Deep Ground, a branch of SOLDIERS that were highly trained warriors with a mind to kidnap and slaughter people across Gaia. Vincent joined Reeve and the World Regenesis Organization (WRO) against Deep Ground and their leaders, the Tsviets. The old Turk learned even more of Lucrecia, Hojo, the experiments, and Chaos upon joining the fight, meeting memorable people such as Shalua, who had literally given up an eye and an arm to find her sister Shelke (sorrowfully, Shalua died later on to save Shelke after finding her).Deep Ground wanted Vincent’s ProtoMateria: and he didn’t even know he had it…
Rosso the Crimson, one of the Tsviets, managed to take the powerful Materia from Vincent when she caught him unawares, and therefore stole his ability to control Chaos. Valentine slowly began to lose his mind over the fact that Chaos lashed out randomly, with a need to ruthlessly kill…
Later on, Vincent learned of the reality that Chaos was supposed to be the destroyer of life on the Planet and assist the WEAPON Omega. Deep Ground was trying to trigger Omega, tricking their world Gaia into summoning it as they killed people with pure Lifestream. The man was strong-minded to stop this, and attacked the Tsviets and Deep Ground until finding (of all the people he could meet) Hojo.
Hojo was the one, planning this even before Lucrecia experimented on him, sure that she would put Chaos within his body after Hojo made him the perfect vessel. Wanting to obtain immortality, the scientist had entered his mind and memory into the database of Shin-Ra: Omega can be implanted into him if Chaos could be implanted into Vincent. The Planet’s Pulse, Lucrecia’s study, also covered Omega, after all. Hojo ended up using SND (Synaptic Net Dive, the same thing Shelke can do) to take over Weiss, the leader of the Tsviets. His ideas launched into full throttle, and he earned his reward when ProtoMateria was implanted as Omega and Weiss fused. Hojo was just about to get what he wanted for so long…
Vincent would try to stop him, but was unable to because of the lack of the ProtoMateria. With Crescent’s help, he jump started the Materia in Weiss and unleashed Chaos’s power, reeling it in just enough so he could avoid being completely taken over by the monster. Enough to match Vincent, he and Weiss fought until another Tsviet known as Nero combined his soul into Weiss: which stained the Mako in Weiss and Omega rejected him – Hojo was gone for good at that moment.
Alas, after Hojo was killed and Weiss’s power purloined, Omega became strong enough to manifest on its own when ProtoMateria in Weiss fell into Lifestream. Chaos was triggered and Vincent flew into a rage, but still couldn’t stop Omega with that power . Shelke, once of Deep Ground, contained Lucrecia’s mind thanks to an implant, and used SND to take the ProtoMateria from Omega and give it back to Vincent, restoring his control. For a moment, Vincent saw a smiling Lucrecia before Omega pulled her away from him…
Rescuing Shelke, Vincent was encouraged by the nineteen year old to stop Omega and tell Lucrecia all that he had contained through all these years. Taking his gun Cerberus, the energy of Chaos changed it into a more powerful weapon, Death Penalty, which he used for the rest of his quest.
With Cloud, Yuffie, and the rest of the gang, Omega’s Lifestream sources were cut off and Vincent was able to break the shields of the WEAPON without much difficulty, diving into Omega itself until reaching the center where he found Weiss’s soul in preservation. It was there that the two warriors fought once more, neither one could gain the upper hand…
Weiss managed to obtain power from Omega, riding in a sort of mecha-like WEAPON to battle Vincent. The revived warrior was slowed down immensely, and Vincent straightforwardly destroyed him. Even then, Omega began its ascension into the sky…
Summoning his power once more, Vincent sped past Omega before jetting back down again to crash into it with a wrenching cry of rage. The two beings met in a clash, an explosion rocking across Gaia until Lifestream came raining down upon the innocent, and three swirling, black-purple spheres descended back down from the air.
Some days later, Vincent was back in Lucrecia’s Cave, thanking her for her support, speaking his mind and enlightening her of the fact that Omega and Chaos were gone, back in the Lifestream, and her worries should be erased. Vincent walked out from the cave with a sort of happiness and peace, and Lucrecia shed a tear from within her crystal pillar…
Reprieve no longer.
Vincent somehow found himself in a completely new place, not knowing quite where he was or what he was doing there, or even how to get back to Gaia (wherever it was…). He saw strange creatures and heard strange rumors, nothing of which he had the former knowledge of. “Twilight Town”, he heard it called, as well as the stressed importance of Light and Darkness. They were completely new concepts, but not too hard for Vincent to grasp easily. What would he do? One thing was for sure, he was going to find out what was happening. Whether or not he returned to his original world from the strange, new place, he didn’t know…

Anything extra you want to add?
I really hope that Final Mix takes flight. It appears to do so nicely. On top of that, I do wish to keep and hold Vincent as he is near and dear to my roleplaying heart and I think he's awesome.
I wasn't sure whether or not I really wanted to create an entirely new profile for Vinnie, so I just made a couple tweaks here and there from my original profile on KHRPF.
