Turn - When you post, that is your turn
.canon.characters.
Canon characters are defined here as characters made by the people of SquareSoft/Enix and Disney.
You are allowed up to 7 canon characters total.
2 slots is for a canon that affected the KH games' plot directly or is of major importance to that particular world.
3 slots is for a canon that was of average/minor importance, such as a side character (Aladdin or Alice, for example). This can include SquareSoft/Enix and Disney characters that are not in the game.
2 extra slots are allowed only for for obscure canons that did not actually appear in KH, but is made by Disney or SquareSoft/Enix. These canons are obscure in the sense that they cannot be from any Final Fantasy Games or major Disney movies, but must belong to Square Enix or Disney [ex: Magus from Chrono Trigger or Perry the Platypus from Phineas and Ferb.]
If you are inactive with a canon without a prestated reason, we have the right to remove the character from your possession.
In order to attain a canon, you must audition and must have at least 30 posts. Further information can be found in the Canon Characters board.
.eight.original.characters.
You may have the maximum of eight original characters. Don’t abuse this and be sensible about this. This is the current cap on the amount of OCs you can have. Depending on profile amounts and public consensus, the amount can change to lower or to infinite. For now though, each member can have as much as eight original characters.
.infinite.rp.threads.
You may have participate in as many RP threads as you wish. Don’t abuse this and be sensible about this. If this becomes a problem, I’m sure you can imagine what will happen.
See Open/Closed System.
.rp.word.minimum.
Here at FM, there is no word count minimum for normal RP. This doesn't mean you can abuse this rule (or lack thereof) and post one-liners. We'll be watching.
.character.profile.process.
The process has been streamlined to prevent waiting. Follow the template and post it when you’re done. Done. Yes, you’re done. Go RP. Don't battle until the character is accepted though, unless it is with players consenting to non-regulated play.
While filling out the template you will eventually come to sections for weapons, abilities and special upgrades following a specific format. These are for the forum's formal guidelines around character combat, which can be used at a player's discretion with others to keep things fair. Performing with your character strictly within the guidelines is not a requirement unless you are in a competition of sorts and using them is a part of the rules, or if you are participating in a Quest and the QM requires it(See Quests description below this thread in the Rules area). It is required to stick to them as a guide though and not pull sudden unknown super powers out of nowhere at any given time. More detailed information on these regulated guidelines for combat are listed below.
After a profile is posted the staff will soon afterward check it. If they see something problematic, you will be notified and you will then have to fix it. Once everything is good, the profile is locked and moved.
.open.and.closed.system.
A thread labeled 'Open' in the title is open for anyone to enter. If there is no label in the title or the starting post, a thread is Open by default.A thread labeled 'Closed' is considered invite only. There may be some other requirements, as well.
There is a limit on how many Closed threads you may be in. You may only be in 2 Closed threads total. Having tons of Closed threads doesn't add onto the RP and doesn't necessarily allow you to meet new people in RP, so we have a limit. Open is unlimited.
.speed.posting.
Speed Posting is an OPTIONAL type of RP where you are only given 15 minutes to post a reply (when it is your turn, that is). This system is very active, so you are expected to constantly keep up with the thread and post when your turn comes.
This type of RPing is considered 'real time.' As in, when you have to go offline or something like that, you have your character leave the thread, and thus leaving everyone to continue on without you.
Only in speed posting is the expectation for at least a good paragraph waved. While there is no word limit on this forum, this is the only place one sentence or something like that wouldn't be frowned upon.
.keyblades.
For a character to attain a Keyblade, you must buy the Keyblade Wielder ability from the Upgrade Store. Then, you will be given a small set of questions to answer to get the weapon itself.
To be fair, canons who start out with Keyblades (Sora, Mickey Mouse, etc) may do so. They will not, however, have the extra abilities of purchased Keyblades under regulated play until Keyblade Wielder is bought for them.
.munny.
Munny is the currency we use, as they did in the KH games. You gain Munny through posting and completion of Events and Questing and a handful of other things. 5 Munny = 1 Post.
Munny may be transferred from one member to another. However, once you give your Munny to another member, you won't get it back unless they give it to you. We're not going to allow drama.
Munny is used in the marketplace shops to upgrade your character with various options. This feature, however, is solely for play under the formal guidelines and does not necessarily affect free play.
.character.death.
In general RPs, death is up to the character's owners. There will always be cases where there is absolutely no way an opponent's character can escape your next attack, in which case it is the character's owner's (the opponent's) DUTY to accept defeat and "black out", basically being knocked unconscious to respawn at the last place you were before battle. Please, accept defeat where it is due. Just because you can't "die" doesn't mean you can't be defeated.
In events and Quests, your character may be defeated by the QM without your consent. This won't be abused so no worries.
If agreed upon by both parties a battle can be deadly. If one of you are okay with your character permanently being killed off, you can make such an agreement, but it must be labeled. Otherwise, FM's default stand is that there is no character death.
Deleted characters are NOT considered dead.
