Yes, you read correctly. Here at Final Mix, we have decided to start holding challenges for different canons. If you are confused about what these challenges might be, then let me explain.
If you have ever been in a school band of any kind, then I'm sure you are familiar with challenges. The second best instrumentalist will challenge the best instrumentalist for his spot. The second is clearly better, so he takes the position of first instrumentalist. This is basically what the canon challenge, or CC, will be like. If there is a canon you have always wanted to roleplay as, but someone decided to take them from you, then this is your chance to roleplay as that canon. However, let me just warn you now. Just because you believe you are better for the canon does not mean you will win the challenge.
Anyway, the canon challenges will be held in a sort of one-on-one posting challenge. The challenger will fill out the application, and the member who is being challenged will be contacted about the challenge. Then, the two members will have four days to post a sample roleplay as the canon, showing off their skill as that canon. The minimum length for a canon challenge post is five-hundred words. This might seem like a lot, but if you're wishing to control the canon, you have to show us you can post a good quality roleplay without just randomly using up space. After both roleplays are posted, the staff will collaborate, and decide which we believe is the better of the two. We will then give ownership of the canon to one of the people, and if the challenger won, they will need to post a profile.
The scenario for the post can be anything you desire, but you can only include your canon character. You can't have a Demyx challenge where he has a conversation with Xigbar and Luxord. We want to see how you do while roleplaying as that character, not as other characters interacting with the canon. Also, try to avoid the cliche scenarios. We don't want to see two threads about the same canon character fighting Heartless and Nobodies in the Great Maw. It gets boring, and it does't show the depth of the character. If you want to impress us, show us that you have gone deeper into the character's personality by making an rp that shows a creative situation for the character.
Judging for these challenges will be the opinion of the staff members. We will choose the person that we see as best suited for the role through a majority vote process. The only way our decision will be over-riden would be if proof of a pre-written post being used is given to us. We want a fresh post, and it's not fair to the challenger if the member with the canon doesn't have to make a new post. Once the challenge is over with, no more challenges for that character can be made for a month. It doesn't matter if you were the challenger, or you're a completely different person, only one per month. However, if you see a challenge for a character that you want up, then you can jump in on the challenge. As long as you post within the four day time limit, there is no problem with multiple people posting a challenge at the same time.
One last thing about CC's. If you're upset with the outcome with your challenge, don't complain to the staff or other members. We picked who we believed was best for the part. If you're that upset about losing your canon, then rechallenge in a month. If you have spent munny on your canon and lost him/her in a challenge, please contact the staff for a refund.
When you post a challenge, please follow this template. We ask that you formally challenge the current canon member prior to posting this. After you have posted your challenge, and the holder of the canon replies stating they have been informed of the challenge, we will give you the 'ok' to post your roleplays.
