.summoning. Summons are creatures that usually have physical and/or magical traits beyond that of a normal character. They also (typically) are able to take WAY more hits. So, as such, they are something that most characters await to earn eagerly.
For formal guidelines, when you get a Summon the Summon---like a new character---has allotted AP to distribute for abilities. See the formal play guidelines for more information on abilities and AP.
All Summons start out with 14 AP.
The downside to Summons is that each of them have EXTREME weaknesses. If someone exploits the weakness, the Summon will receive 2 or 3 times more damage than usual. ALSO, Summons cannot have abilities upgraded or abilities purchased for them passed initial creation and AP spent.
Now, as for cooldowns: You may dismiss a Summon and in 5 rounds, you may summon a new Summon or call that Summon back. If your Summon dies, in 10 rounds, you may Summon a new creature, but cannot Summon your dead Summon again for the rest of the battle.
Normal characters only get 2 Summons and they must be bought. When a Summon Slot is purchased present the information on your new summon using the Summon Template from the Character Management area.

.minion.calling.For formal play every character on the forum has possible Minion Slots that can be filled. Minions are similar to summons except that they are weaker than player characters and have very limited abilities. Minions can be anything from the obvious Heartless or Nobodies to monstrous imps to a flock of birds, whatever the character needs that doesn't surpass the requirements. The only limitation on a minion's appearance is that they can not be perfect indistinguishable replicas the character themselves. Similar to summons, minions also must have an elemental weakness that deals greater damage to them, in their case twice as much.
When used in RP under the guidelines the call ability works exactly like a summon, bringing the minion characters to the field however necessary. Minions always come in sets but their total number doesn't have to be called all at once if the player doesn't need more than a specific amount of them, so long as no more than the maximum are called. Any minions defeated by another player or become otherwise indisposed of can not be called again during the same battle or event. Two different Minion Slot sets can also not be present at the same time, mixing different types at once, except in one exception for S Class Minions who can be on the field at the same time as one other set. This may be waived in non-battle periods of RP if the fellow RPers allow it. Minions of a set don't always have to look exactly the same as long as they share species, size and abilities to make any differences purely aesthetic. As a final note, D-grade Minions have one advantage despite their low health and one weak ability in that they do not need to use up that ability slot to have the power of flight if desired, but it will only be basic flight and nothing amazingly fast.
Now, as for cooldowns: You may dismiss a set of minions and in 3 rounds you may call a new set of minions or call that previous set back. If all the minions in your call are defeated then in 6 rounds you may call a new set but if even only one is still active and dismissed then only the 3 round wait time occurs. You can not call a defeated minion again for the rest of the battle. If a set of minions is only partially called then reinforcements of the same set may be called again at any time without a wait, but the 3 or 6 round wait to calla new set won't begin until the field is clear of all minions and will reset if reinforcements from the last set are brought out before they are up. An S-grade minion's ability to be on the field simultaneously with one other Minion Slot's set must still be done as a single turn's call in order for them to be on the field together, but not all of the second set need be called at once in that case either.
To gain the ability to call minions a character must first purchase a Minion Slot from the shop. There are four grades of calling abilities that can be purchased, each of which uses one Minion Slot and allows stronger but fewer Minions as the level rises. The abilities and strengths of the minions depend on the grade level that is purchased. Only three Minion Slots per character can be bought at maximum but their various levels can be mixed as desired.
Minion Slot D This fills one Minion Slot up to a maximum of three(Or six if you are a Tamer). D-grade Minions come in sets of eight and may have one ability which is roughly equal to weak in strength at most. D-grade Minions can take only a little damage before being defeated and are always very small in size.
Minion Slot C This fills one Minion Slot up to a maximum of three(Or six if you are a Tamer). C-grade Minions come in sets of six and may have two abilities, each of which are roughly equal to weak in strength at most. C-grade minions can only sustain a mediocre amount of damage before being defeated and at their largest are only as big as a human child.
Minion Slot B This fills one Minion Slot up to a maximum of three(Or six if you are a Tamer). B-grade Minions come in sets of four and may have one ability which is roughly equal to moderate in strength at most. B-grade minions can take a moderate amount of damage before being defeated and can be up to as tall as a human teenager.
Minion Slot A This fills one Minion Slot up to a maximum of three(Or six if you are a Tamer). A-grade Minions come in sets of two and may have two abilities which are roughly equal to one moderate and one weak in strength at most. A-grade minions can take a good amount of damage before being defeated, but still quite a bit less than a player character could. These can be as large as or a little larger than fully-grown humans.
Minion Slot S This fills two Minion Slots up to a maximum of three(Or six if you are a Tamer). An S-grade Minion set has only one Minion in it. This Minion may have two abilities, each of which are roughly equal to moderate in strength at most. S-grade minions can take almost as much damage as a player character before being defeated and can exceed the size of human beings. The quality of an S-grade Minion uses up 2 Minion Slots. In exchange S-grade Minions can be on the field at the same time as one other Minion Slot set, allowing for two sets of Minions on the field at once.
When a Minion Slot is purchased present the information on your new minion(s) using the Minion Template from the Character Management area.
